Had a smoked salmon bagel on a busy Saturday morning. Bagel was a bit burnt and the smoked salmon wasn't great either. The waitress kinda forgot about us and just tossed us the check without even asking. If it'd be cheap I would expect this kind of service, but it wasn't particularly cheap. Go to one of those large breakfast chains instead. Prices are similar, but food quality is more consistent.

We found a BONE embedded in our toast... when we asked the server about it, she kindly took the meal off the bill. However, that was completely unsanitary, unprofessional, and rather disgusting. It's a shame because they're in a great location and the staff is relatively friendly, but the place is dark, a bit dingy, and the food is so-so.

Response to the owner: Thanks for your reply, I'm not one to leave poor reviews but I was disappointed with the last meal we had there - I'm not sure what the exact type of bread was, but my friend ordered some white toast to accompany her eggs. We assumed it might have been the bread company's fault, but please ask your staff to check the quality of the products you receive before serving them to your customers!

Really cozy American diner with the usual nice atmosphere. The pancakes are really good and we went for the special as well, that turned out great.
The coffee was really good also.

If you re looking for a true Diner, this is it.

Not what I expected. Cute place with ok food but our server was awful. She didn't check on us at all (my meal was missing an ingredient) and when my boyfriend went to order a milkshake, we were just handed the bill, not even asked if we wanted anything else! Up sell baby! Make those tips! Anyway, the rest of the crew were great, we just got some bad luck with our server

Feel like eating at a diner? Johnny's is a great place for a family brunch. Service has always been attentive. Portions are generous. The food won't set any records, but it tastes exactly how I expect diner food to taste. Down sides: there's usually a wait on weekend mornings. The lanes between booths make the dining area feel claustrophobic. It can get pretty loud.

A really nice place to eat! We loved the decoration, the delicious food and the many options they have. Last but not least: service! Our waitress explained what ever we needed, she checked with us if everything was good and offered options regarding beverages. Our Airbnb owner recommended it to us, and now is my turn! Well done! By the way, we were visiting Boston for the very first time and this is a must visit place!

Try anything on the menu can't go wrong.

The absolute best matzo ball soup. It has a real big chunks of chicken in it not little tiny pieces but real big chunks in the matzo ball is the size of a tennis ball. The best I've ever had anywhere in this country or outside the country

Love Johnny's. You can get the whole menu anytime, so you can have a hamburger for breakfast or pancakes for dinner, and it's all good. Always hard to choose... Try the latkes with applesauce.

Great breakfast option that is very kid-friendly. Good pricing but also have real maple syrup, healthier options. My 4 year old loves going here, though it probably also has to do with the mini milkshake she's allowed to have there

Johnny's Luncheonette was a great experience I would recommend to anyone! I went with my family on our last day of our weekend trip to Boston and we enjoyed a great meal with plenty of choices of high quality food. The service was even better than the food. Thank you so much for the delicious breakfast and wonderful service.

The best way to describe this place is-meh. Super simple, pretty bland food. Nothing spectacular with a few dashes of flawed cooking techniques best summarized in their pastrami scramble. Luke warm, chewy pastrami and nearly a whole, nearly raw onion heaped onto a plate of wattery scrambled eggs.

I think the food here is quite excellent. Keep in mind this is not an upscale restaurant, this is a family restaurant, it is very homey and the servers are very friendly.
The prices are very fair and I think that the portions are pretty fair as well.

My new favorite diner! Excellent omelettes and their harvest salad is great also. However, it's a bit on the pricier end for some items (the salad with chicken added came to around $17). Reasonable prices for most things, though, and the food is delicious. I definitely plan on returning soon!

An amazing diner!! It's exactly what you want in a place with a great atmosphere, all day you can get breakfast lunch and dinner food with their great staff! My one warning is between their great sandwiches, burgers to die for, and vast selection of food from the griddle including challah French toast you'll want more than one entree!

I was extremely excited that they had a gluten free option! I ordered a tuna melt and the tuna was absolutely disgusting. I think they may have used Italian dressing or something, it had some type of sour taste. Very weird and hurtful to my stomach. I would deff try this restaurant again bc of the gluten free bread, but I will never have tuna from here ever again.

The portion and selections of everything you would expect from a diner was unbelievable and then some! With a little twist on a few selections that makes them unique and very tasteful. Prices were reasonable and the friendly staff was on point! I'm definitely revisiting Johnnys again next time I'm in town! It's a must!!

I think someone from JR Corp offices should go here. I walked in with my nine year old daughter and we werehit by the smell of sour dairy products. Then after waiting five minutes a man finally came out of the back room area. We took our seats, we were the only ones there at 2pm, (that should have been a tip off). The food was frozen and poorly fried. It was cheap and there was no emotion in the cooking. We watched a girl bring in frozen supermarket french fries and frozen hamburger patties. It was a waste of my money.
I love Johnny Rockets and have been to a dozen around the world. This one should be closed down.

Isn t it the only breakfast place/diner in the US where you can order an omelet without mandatory home fries/toast? This alone deserves 5 stars from someone who tries to follow a low(er) carb lifestyle. For those who aren t crazy as I am, there s even a wider choice of high quality traditional American fare with a twist. What do I mean by a twist ? Well, they serve cheese blintzes, for example. My daughter confirmed that milkshakes and pancakes are awesome as well. Will be returning from time to time.

Where else do 2 eggs with bacon and toast not come with homefries? Great for my diet! Yeah. Of course, being the piggy that I am, I went for the 3 egg beakfast that came with homefries. Every one of the wait staff I interacted with was exciting to talk with. These folks enjoy their job. I will be back soon.
