Good option for a mall type lunch out. Service was really good and the food options - something for everyone! It's our second time at this chain (Yorkdale first and now Markville) - both were equally good!
Ordered yam fries that came burnt but on top of that my waitress disappears to where we never got served for about 20 Min's. The waitress served tables around us but completely ignored us. Service was one star. Food was two stars. Expected much better quality of service for the price. Almost felt like mcdonalds could have been a better option. Management really needs to assess there staff and provide further extensive training to waitresses. Horrendous I couldn't believe it

Pricy for the amount you are getting but good food overall
Every JOEYs I've been to has been a great experience. Their burgers are one of the best items on the menu and many of the chef are current culinary students across various GTA schools so they definitely work hard to impress you.

The food at Joey's was great as expected. However this location needs to work on their service. We waiting double the amount of time before asking for our drink order. Once ordered we received the drinks in a reasonable amount of time. The appetizer we ordered at the same time never appeared until our meals arrived. No water was ever offered.

Came on Valentine's... Made a reservation for 7:30, came 30 minutes early and got a table immediately. Food's a little overpriced, but quality of food is great. Service was good considering how busy it was. Menu is a little limited.
Very nice meal, nice restaurant and our waitress of that day, Neli, was lovely with our kids and very attentive to my first day of Mother's Day here in Canada. the price is high but the quality is present.

Always a good option for take-out or dine-in at lunch. The farmers market salad is really good, and their menu is really on par with their competitors. Atmosphere is certainly upscale, as you will probably tell right away from the staff. Great for a guys night out at the bar..

Had a large group of 16 people to celebrate a friends birthday service was amazing! To top it off had a genteman named James suprise the birthday girl with a birthday cake. Would definitely recommend this location for any gatherings.
If you're going to hire hostesses for 'Pretty faces', at least hire one with a functioning brain. We made a reservation for a table of 5 at 7pm, and get there right before 7, only to watch them give the family before us our table. When the hostess came back, we told her we had a booth reservation, but she just gave away the last booth. She literally said in front of us, 'I messed that up", and told us a lot of people have been sitting for over 2 hours and haven't left yet, and if we wanted a high table instead. We decided to wait for a booth because that's what we reserved for. After around 20 minutes, we just left because it was just ridiculous and terrible service. At one point the hostess came back and asked, sorry was this for 5 people or 4 people. I'm assuming it was too hard for her to check the reservation. Really, what's the point of making a reservation when it isn't even honored. Just absolutely disgusting service. I want to say the last time we were here we had a blast and our waitress was such a sweetheart, but this hostess couldn't have even bothered.

Very good fusion food with different varieties, better than the Keg unless you just want a steak. Should make reservations for dinners because it can be very busy. Very nice contemporary decor, friendly staff, somewhat uncomfortable bar stools. Lots of parking it's next to Markville mall.

Joey's menu is always great. For COVID they have thier regular patio as well as a new extension. We were well spaced apart from other people and felt very safe. I had the chicken parmesan. It was good but if you are really hungry it's not filling enough. My wife swears by the ahi tuna club.
The food was great, we had the burgers. The chocolate lava cake for dessert is also amazing. It's a great atmosphere as well.

Food is good but it's pricey and the portions are small. The service is great as they were friendly and tried to accommodate our needs. I personally felt under dressed in my casual clothes. I'll probably get a cane the next time I eat there so that I can fit in.
First time visit. Food was great. Varied menu. Lots of choices. Service was a bit slow but heck Raptors game was on.... deserves another visit.

Food is overall pretty consistent. Not bad. I like the ahi tuna salad, the apple turnover dessert, and the wraps. I also like ordering their maple ice cream and deep fried mashed potatoes. The elderflower Collins is one of my favourite drinks here as well.
The problem is mainly with the service, it s always slow and I m not sure why. It s gotten to the point where whenever my friends and I come here we joke that we re here to get ignored (which isn t really an exaggeration). Some of our servers were better than others but most of the time I m trying to flag someone down for 1) water, 2) utensils, or 3) the bill.
Sometimes they have a wait list with lots of tables empty, I guess maybe understaffed? However after I insisted on waiting and was seated in less than 10 minutes. So it leads me to believe that there wasn t really a wait at all?

Not necessarily the most value for money, but you know what to expect. The food is fairly decent and the quality is pretty much standardized. Quite an easy environment for dinner. Would absolutely recommended the apple pie with maple ice cream for dessert!

I came here on a special day before quarantine all started. This restaurant definitely deserves full stars for customer service, and how clean it is on the inside.
One thing about the food is that not only is it extremely delicious, it s also very unique. My only side would be that the portions are pretty small for the amount of money you pay (and that s a problem for me because if it s good... I WANT MORE!).

lets start of with an earlier mishap at JOEY in January, it was a busy weekend, long story short, we left on a sour note. I went home contacted their manager. I got an immediate response from them apologizing and took ownership of providing us with a Do over. Offer excepted! Second time around, it was fantastic, they gave us impeccable attention, on point service. Exactly what we expect from JOEY. Ofcourse the food was delicious as always. This time we left on a high note and will most definitly come back again with family and friends. Thank you JOEY!
This place has good food good interior design, very welcoming staff and awesome drinks. My favorite os their burbon sour. If u are looking to hangout with friends over a drink or for lunch and dinner, thos place will satisfy your desire.
Great atmosphere but I was so disappointed in the size of my sirloin. It was good and the mashpotato spring roll was a hit. But the question is. .Where is my meat? BTW this cost me about $31.

Been here a few times, and one of the better Joey's in town. Great service and great food, the quality of each dish large or small is top notch. Waitresses are on the ball, my cup was never dry. Would recommend this location for the access to mall afterwards for a stroll to walk off the food.

I ve been here soooooo many times. For sure the most visited Joey of all locations. The last time I dinned here was September 2020. I m typically not one to complain (you can even read my previous reviews) on this particular visit I asked the sever for her opinion on what I should order between the Cobb salad or protein burger. Her response was get the protein burger with a side Cobb salad
I was so excited she suggested that, because I could have the best of both worlds. My burger came and the side salad was not a Cobb salad I was expecting a mini version of a salad with blue cheese, bacon, chicken, boiled egg, etc. the salad came to to the table with crushed up croutons with Parmesan cheese and some sort of dressing. I was a little disappointed and even spoke up ... the severs response didn t really make sense so I just shut-up and ate my food. I was for sure disappointed.
Joey Markville, where shall I start?!
I have been dining at Joeys for several years. I work around the corner as VP of Operations. I often order lunch for our staff.
I have an allergy to gluten, mustard, and many other foods. I always order the same thing; lettuce wraps- gluten free, that means no noodles & no breaded chicken. The gluten free lettuce wraps are to be served with brown rice and grilled chicken. I can't tell you the number of times I've dined in the restaurant or had lunch picked up for staff and my order hasn't been modified for my allergy. I mean, it's quite simply taking a straight order.
I will have to say on the restaurants behalf, I have never complained when we ordered lunch simply because of time. We order the meal by phone, the person who is picking up on our behalf struggles to find parking at that horrific mall and then waits at least 10-15 minutes to receive our order and by the time I get my lunch I'm starving, upset and I simply eat the meal.
However, dining in is a whole different story! I have ordered the same modified gluten free lettuce wraps and over the last 3 years they have come at least 4 times without the modification.
In these cases, I have informed the server and of course, she graciously offered to have the order rectified, but most times, I simply accept the order and suffer the consequences later. I think only once I stood my ground and sent the meal back.
Fortunately, my allergy is not severe where I would go into anaphylactic shock. I just suffer gastro problems which are quite painful. My mustard allergy is more severe and requires me to carry an epipen.
I mention this because my daughter was employed by Joeys and was recently "let go" in such a harsh and embarassing matter over this exact situation. A customer came in to dine and mentioned that they had an allergy to shellfish if ingested. He wasn't concerned with cross contamination nor was the table ordering any shellfish. My daughter put the modification on the gentleman's meal, however, her manager and the chef became irate that she didn't put modifications on all the food that the table ordered. Let me reiterate, there was no seafood or shellfish ordered by the table and the modification was applied to the customer's meal. However, my daughter was "dismissed" and treated as though she had stolen confidential and classified documents from the white house!
Needless to say, I won't be eating at Joey's Markville any longer, and nor will our friends if I can help it, and nor will I be ordering lunches for our staff. I will take my money elsewhere! We're the type of diner's that order appetizers, main entrees, drinks with our meals, dessert, after dinner cocktails, specialty coffees, etc. We enjoy our dining experience.
Some great restaurants if anyone's interested are Chase Fish & Oyster, Diana's Oyster Bar, Pure Spirit's Oyster House & Grill (Distillery District), The Lake Grill in Whitby, Chatterpauls's in Whitby, Wild Fire Steak House to name a few.
I remember last time I had some real good mojitos here but my recent visit was not that great. Yes service and atmosphere were still nice, our waitress was very pretty and attentive. Unfortunately the food was just barely average to me, I can't say where in alternative I would go, cuz that sounds too commercial, but there are better choices and I might not return unless there is dinner event booked by other parties.

Staff that works here either doesn t quite know how to do their job or just lazy and slacking.
Came here on a Thursday night, wanting a table for 6, one of the host tells me the wait is 40mins. I looked around the restaurant and half of it was empty. I then approach the host stand with another host there and asked if we could sit at one of the empty booths. She said sure and grabbed some menus and sat us there.
We sat there for over 15mins waiting for our sever (Michelle) to order food and drinks. She comes by takes our orders then disappears. We didn t even get offer water while we waited. Multiple times throughout the night where we placed more orders we had to wave down another server or a busser. 5mins before the restaurant closed, our server appears again with the bill.
This place has horrible service and servers are extremely not attentive!!
Its not very often I give a restaurant a 5 star review. I think the fact that I was there on Mother's Day and the service and food was amazing has to be a bonus....but the food was really good. And the overall experience was a good one. I will definately return.
