My party of four was a little disappointed one Sunday afternoon in late August 2015 with our meals. They were not what we had come to expect. The portions on the sides were small. The fish was really good. But the chicken meals consisted of small side pieces of chicken. I was not expecting four small pieces of chicken (no breast) to be 1/2 a chicken. The baked potato and the baked sweet potato were so small my first thought was they had been cut in half. It just was not what we had experienced so many times in the past. It is a nice facility. The service was okay at best. However, there was no offer to refill our drinks. This may have been my sixth visit to Joe Huber Restaurant but I won t being going out of my way to drive 65 miles to eat there again.

Been coming here since I was a baby, have always had a great experience. However last visit we had to leave cause we weren't being served. We had to eventually tell the host we hadn't been served or even talked to after 20 mins. She got us water eventually since we asked her but seemed disinterested in taking our order. I have worked in food service and understand short staffing but, If someone says they are ready to place their order right when they get there, just take it and have another server just bring it out when they have time. We have been coming here for years and years and we knew what we wanted. She told us to wait for the server to come, we waited for 45 mins, they never came but all the guests around us were being served. Just in the future, try to make guest feel welcome no matter who you are or what your position is while working in the establishment. We didn't even get a sorry as she watched us walk out the door.

Worth the countryside trip to eat foods prepared as they were a generation ago. Its a beautiful family friendly farm complex, with restaurant and store. Has a playmate fir children.

The food proved excellent, as well as the service. One might be tempted to eat too much with the ample portions. Would recommend this restaurant.

This place is amazing. Its super fun, the food is really good, the produce is fresh and their cinnamon bread (not sure what it's really called) is so good. The atmosphere of this place is just so lively and fun.

This was our 9th year going to Hubers and our last. Terrible service for the second year in a row. We were left in the pumpkin patch and had to walk back to the parking lot. (We ran to the road to catch the tractor but he wouldn't stop.) Wait for carryout lunch was over 45 minutes and after waiting at window for a good 5 minutes without being helped, we left. Won't be back, which is a bummer...had hoped to keep that tradition.

I can only speak for the store and ice cream shop, not the restaurant. Everything was clean and well priced. The jam is fantastic, but the ice cream was just ok. Nothing special, and when I got it, it was old and filled with ice crystals. The property is fun and has lots of fun for young kids.

Very busy but lots of fun for the kids. Much shorter waits to eat in the barn buffets. Chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits, cobbler all great! My kids loved the bouncy side and obstacle course and the wagon ride.

OK.

The Joe Huber complex consists of a restaurant, orchard store and things for kids to do.
Be prepared to wait at the restaurant, especially on lovely Southern Indiana weekends. But there is hope for a meal.
The restaurant has a walkup window with a limited selection, including the fantastic fried chicken and deep fried biscuits. The biscuits end up being like a beignet, with a dense, yet fluffy texture and are served with apple butter.
The amusements are fun for kids, if a bit pricey.
The store is full of delicious canned products (jams, jellies, salsas) as well as some baked goods.
A decent stop, not too far off of I 57, along some green, hilly roads.

Fun

The restaurant was ridiculous they charge $20 and didn't even give us a choice as to what we would like to order it was what it was half the stuff that they were going to bring out to us was not anything that my children or family would even eat we will never come back to the Huber restaurant again I suggest you have at least $300 if you plan to eat at their restaurant and don't even bother going to the buffet because it's the exact same thing that would have been sent to your table for the exact same price no options horrible I love Huber Farm but the restaurant is an absolute horror maze

This had to be the very best day of the week. We began our day long stay at Huber dining in the family style, made from scratch restaurant. Nothing short of reliving my childhood on mashed potatoes, gravy, fried chicken livers and chicken, turkey, stuffing and chicken and dumplings. We were in Huber heaven. It all was delicious. My meal consisted of the chicken livers alone with gravy. It was delicious.

We then made the usual tours of the shops, orchards and finally made it to the wine tasting room. They grow the grapes for their label on the property. It was so good we bought a couple of bottles, sat outside in the crisp Indiana autumn weather listening to live music while the children were making new friends and dancing. It was a glorious time had by all.

The drive up was beautiful. The winding road magnificent with fall colors. I love Huber and hope to return in the near future. They have so much to offer every generation.

Great food and love the location. This place is so much more than just a winery. You can go pick strawberries and pumpkins. Go for a wine tasting or to the restaurant. I've been to a wedding there and it was absolutely beautiful indoors and out. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. You gotta check it out!!!

This place was a lot of fun. This was my first year going which is sad because they might be closing after this year depending on what they do with the change of ownership. I loved getting ice cream and going through the farmers market style shop where they have Apple butter, little painted pumpkins, toys, candy and a bunch of other things (a little pricey if you actually want to buy something; we just browsed). The hay ride to the pumpkin patch was fun, but very bumpy and dusty so I had to cover my little one up with a blanket as her car seat was coated with dust. Make sure to close your mouth on the ride or you'll be eating dirt. They have pony rides and tractor rides and fun games for kids that we didn't do because my daughter is under a year, but it looked like fun. They also have a buffet-style restaurant. We enjoyed the gazebo with the porch swings and took lots of pictures by hay bales and the lake. Definitely would recommend going while it's still around.

Over crowded with people during the corona virus epidemic!!! Every table was used. We had about a 2 foot distance from our table and others. Lines out the door. People were also crammed packed on the hay rides to pick pumpkins. Chicken was delicious but the Waldorf salad is not like it used to be , they had the best but not no more . Definitely over priced!

My family of 4 ate there today mothers day in the restaurant itself . the rolls were cold.told waitress she brought more.1 roll a piece and they were warm at best.the chicken 4 people 6 extra small pieces of chicken.the sides were enough for 2 people not 4.complete BS. Amazing food in a real heart of America family restaurant. Everything we had was delicious.
No one does fresh hand breaded onion rings anymore. These were so crunchy. The fried chicken, livers, Cole slaw. Chicken n' dumplings and fried biscuits with Apple butter were out of this world. Thanks for a great memorable meal.

We make it a point to come here at least once a year to eat in the restaurant. The food is amazing and the people are so nice. I particularly love the biscuits and the apple butter.. oh my my my my.. . I love the shop to buy goodies. After spending time here we always go to the winery and go out and pick apples. It is one of my favorite places. Hubers is the best. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great place to take kids to spend the day. There's tons of activities including playground equipment, a corn maze, basketball and volleyball courts and just the great outdoors to run around in. Plus there are multiple food options or you could probably bring a picnic lunch. My 9 year olds had a blast.

My husband and I and another couple went to Huber's yesterday around 3 pm. We were told to go to the Barn which we did. The food was terrible. It was cold and old. Children were touching the food. Neither the sweet nor unsweetened tea was filled. We will never eat here again.

Was so glad to get to visit Huber's for the first time in years. Think many assume it closed after all the rumors of it being sold, but, it's open and delicious! The chicken is, hands down, the best EVER!! Folks are friendly, wine is amazing, and atmosphere is so homey and welcoming. Hope to be back much more often!

The food here is really good - first time we've been here but we will definitely be back! All of the kids activities weren't open as we were there in the middle of the week but our grandkids enjoyed what was there. Next time we'll try out some of the other activities!

Visiting with my Journey class and we had the most wonderful time. Beautiful place, awesome wine, friendly staff. Tons of fresh produce. Huber himself came to talk to our crew and he was such a family man. Very nice. Definitely want to come back again.
