Wow!

Lovely place to spend a day out.

Lovely place to spend a day out.
The park is massive and - as most of the people walking around the main building - really peaceful and quiet, the garden is very nice too

Went to folk by the oak. What a great festival! Brilliant bands, lots of activities and things to see and finished with a fantastic firework display. Food and drink were also very reasonably priced although it encouraged people to bring their own picnic. Lots to do for all ages but defiantly a family friendly event and well worth the ticket price!

I come here for various outdoor concerts that are held in the gorounds of Hatfield house and have always had a fantastic evening. I can't comment on Hatfield house itself as I have never been.

We visited Hatfield House recently, albeit the house itself isn't actually open so we wondered the grounds and gardens.

On arrival there were plenty of people guiding you to parking spaces, and then its a short walk to the entrance. The cafe and other facilities are all located in the entrance area, so ensure you pop to loo before going in!

With two small children we decided to do the medium woodland walk, not completely pushchair friendly but wasn't exactly expecting it to be. Apart from the lake (which was awesome) I don't think there was anything particular special about the walk. We walked back towards the house (via an ice cream). The kids really enjoyed running round the gardens trying to get lost. Not all the gardens are open to view but the ones we saw were nice.

If you decide to go, then take a picnic with you and make a few hours out of your wonder - be prepared to pay the 'heritage venue' prices if you decide to eat / drink from cafe and / or ice cream van.

Didn't visit the house but went to a French market in the grounds. Very disappointing. Not really very much there and what was there was hugely overpriced. Had expected a large selection of French foods but there were few food stalls. Will not be going again.

Hatfield house has incredible park grounds and is great for dog walking. Once you have bought entry into them you get to use it over and over again, though you will need to buy a new ticket to access the main house each time. The house has been used in tones of films, most recently The Favourite.

Hatfield house also often hosts events, this weekend gone was a huge crafts fair.

One of the places in this world I most connect with--such great history, such a place of monumental change, and just a lovely example of multiple architecture styles. A delightful place for a stroll, for thinking, and for first seeing Haley's Comet!

Stunning Tudor residence - the great Hall in particular was fascinating. The front facade has a huge metal water feature in front of it which seems very out of place. If you visit read up beforehand as there is no audio guide or free tours.

A fabulous period property in the Hertfordshire countryside. Well maintained gardens with plentiful parking and a well curated gift shop, monthly farmers market and retail stores. High quality food and drink available in the Stables.

Thrilled to have visited this house at long last. I was not disappointed so much to look at . The staff in each room were absolutely brilliant we learnt so much that you don't read about on line. Would highly recommend you visit.

I have edited and gone down to 3 stars as the best shop in stable yard has now gone. Every visit. We would go gift shop anyone that s been will know the shop I mean. Toys/gifts/post cards/ everything. This has now been replaced by a leather and gun store. What am I going to buy in there. Nothing. Really disappointed that you ve taken away real family visitor based store. The staff where always amazing. And even buying post card could tell you meaning and back ground to it. I have no need for 1800 shot guns or leather hats.

Wonderful, crammed full of history. The staff are truly exceptional, considerate and knowledgeable. Ken, Dermot, Niel and Penny are only too happy to answer any questions you have about the house and history in general it seems. When Covid is over and the main house is open we will be back for another visit and another walk in the woods.
