I had a great experience with the Jim Burke used cars. My salesman Donald Harris was very professional and courteous. This was my first experience but it will not be my last. I bought a 05 Camry with low mileage and rides like it just came out off the assembly line. I will most definently be back for future purchases!
I once provided a pretty negative review of Jim Burke for Sales and Service. I'd like to amend (replace) that review with this one. (FYI - I have only dealt with Subaru sales and service)...
Service (5 stars): John Cruse helped me during my most recent visit to the service department and I can't say enough good things about him. He listened to understand, told me what was going to happen, explained things well, and did everything with a great attitude. He even gave me a ride to work (only a few blocks, but it was raining) b/c the normal shuttle person was already out. He went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. I will ask for John every time I call from now on.
Sales (1 star): The one salesman I encountered here soured me on the dealership. He was dishonest, talked down to me, and he even trash-talked another salesman so that I would work with him instead.

Was assured by Ron in used cars sales the Sequoia was ready and everything worked. Showed up for the test drive and the vehicle had been sent to the shop to 'make sure everything worked'. Ron brought the vehicle back to test drive and the rear glass and wiper didn't work and the check engine light came on during the test drive. I suspect they reset the check engine light before I drove it and hoped I wouldn't drive it long enough for it to cycle and come back on. I believe this dealership is DISHONEST and I will not be back.

I purchased a 2017 Nissan Maxima on May 29, 2017. It has been in the service department at Jim Burke 4 times since October 10. The service manager Mike was very nice BUT I am still having problems with this car. I have talked to Consumer Affairs and nothing has been resolved. I am paying for a car that is constantly in and out of the shop. I will NEVER purchase another vehicle or recommend anyone to Jim Burke. I should have purchased another Ford or a Honda.

I bought a used 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie from here and the day after, I had to take it back to them to fix A/C issues and a simple thing like the door lights that we re going out. First rainy day, I now have discovered a water leak in the back window. Buyers beware, they fix as little as they can to sell and leave you to figure out what else is wrong. Good thing here is they are willing to help fix the issues. Will update post after dealership decides how it s going to fix the water leak. I just want the truck to operate normally; is this so much to ask?

They sent out a bogus sale paper which is a bunch of xxxx it had their address and there CEO on the paper then claimed it came from corporate head quarters and Kelly blue book is not the same here , not happy with the scam or the scandalous way they belittled me ,I'll go back to Georgia before I trade with them. Straight dealing sales people. Not a high pressure place,they want you to get the right car. Great service department. We have bought 3 Subarus from them over the last 10 years.
Had the distributor replaced on my car seriously over priced and replaced the part with a remain part but cheered me over three times the priced of an original part
The entrance to the service area is crowded and dangerous if someone else is picking up their vehicle. Staff and service facility waiting area are beautiful, and exceed expactation. Was earlier than expected!
The only good thing I can say is, they haven't messed up my car. This service department is the slowest on the planet. Appointment or not, it doesnt matter. Pack a lunch. You'll be there at LEAST 3 hours for an oil change.

Deceptive sale practices, nonchalant staff, they care nothing about minorities and I was treated rudely and unfairly by Jenni, Dylan and especially Ron Toelken. He threatened to call the police on me and my spouse for only trying to get clarification on the sale of my car and a lie they told about me signing a contract I ve never seen or signed. THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU MAKE A PURCHASE PPL. No one has assisted with a resolution, promised a call back from Jennie(corporate secretary) in 24 hours. It is day #3 and she hasn t called yet to offer a resolution because clearly my dollars don t count.
What ever you do, do NOT take your car to be serviced here. Words can t describe unprofessional and unorganized this group is. Appointments mean nothing here! Take my advice. Take your car somewhere else.
I walked in with a pre-approved capital one offer for a specific car and they still wanted to play the 4 square game along with the pretend need for managerial approval.

Visited the dealership last month to trade in my 2004 Porsche Cayenne S for a "new" 2016 Altima. The old "bait and switch" routine, was only offered $1,500 for my Porsche. Selling the car on my own now, looking at price comparisons in the Bham area and I see that they have a very similar vehicle to mine listed at $13,988.
Everytime I go theres an issue. I ordered 3 replacement keys. They said we will call you when they come in. I waited multiple weeks, called and was told yes they are in. Drove from Tuscaloosa waited over an hour for 1 key. We messed up we will have to order the others. We shall see if they call
Made it here around 10 to get transmission looked at checked on my car around 1 they told me It had not even been looked at yet!!! would not recommend!!!!

I can't say enough about the awesome staff in the Jim Burke Hyundai service department. Rusty has been very attentive to my automotive needs. When there was a way to hold the manufacturer's accountable for repairs associated with their recall, the service manager had no problem going to bat for me. Although my first impression of this establishment was not a good one, my final impression is the one that REALLY COUNTS! I feel so blessed that these were the guys: Rusty, Eddie and Justin that tended to my 2013 Hyundai Sonata and me when my car just STOPPED RUNNING on the interstate. It took about a month to get my car fixed right, but I am proud to say we are on the road again!!!

Car listed on their website today had been sold two weeks ago but still on website. Salesperson was nice and had us look at a car with more miles on it than the one listed... a car we had already declined to look at.

The people here do a really good job. The service tech explained everything that needed to be done to my car and told me how much it would cost. They offer a local shuttle and the waiting room was clean and comfortable. Prices were kinda high, just like all other car dealerships. Would recommend them to anyone.

This is redicules, I just bought this car 2 months ago and they told me the oil change and wipers are free for a life of the car. Well I'm here and they tell me I have to do service done to get free oil change. Redicules. I will never get another car from this rip off place.

We leased an outback from them in 2017. I recently took it in for its first service appointment and was very pleased with the service and the waiting area.
Made an appointment thru the app in my subaru, when arrived they didn't have an appointment for me. However they were glad to accommodate my 6 month service. The break room was small with lack of air flow and felt outdated. Hendrick Subaru offers free donuts and snacks but their customer service sucks at Jim burke, you only get free water and have to buy other snacks thru vending machines... But they do have free wifi which is nice. The overall friendlyness of the techs kept the rating high.
Poor, customer service. Made an appointment with a salesman... I arrived 5 minutes before time and shows up 35 mins late. No phone call or anything. He was busy at lunch he said. Will not return

Yesterday I contacted them about a used vehicle. The internet had a price with a line drawn thru it clearly indicating that they were willing to make a deal. There was a button to get their best price which I clicked...then I needed to give them all my contact information to get their best price. Nicholas contacted me but when I asked for his best price was told "the internet is typically their best price". Imagine..today the line thru the price is gone!

Every review on here is being far too kind. The service dept took our vehicle in for a recall issue. We have a van that has a lifetime warranty on the engine. We were told by our company mechanic that the head was leaking. Since it was covered we expect Jim Burke to fix it. They told us that they couldn't even look at the van till the following week. So I asked if we could pick it up and bring it back when they were ready to look at it. So they then gave me a time of 3 weeks later. So were they going to keep it for 3 weeks before they even looked at it? Or were they just playing a game with me because I didn't want to leave the van there till it was convenient for them to fix a warranty issue. We bought the van there so we have to take it there for everything to keep the warranty valid. I hate going there. They are so unprofessional and dishonest. There is never a time when I bring a vehicle in there that they aren't trying to sell me something that I am sure the vehicle doesn't need.
They didn't alignment the car properly. The steering wheel is clocked incorrectly. It was correct before they put their hands on it.
The service included Car Wash and they did not make it thanks They also told me that my car was ready at 12 and then they told me that it was at 6

My Daughter was duped into spending the whole day at this dealership for nothing. She told them what she wanted to put down. And they ignored her. They continued to process her application aproved her application. Then they proceeded to tell her her down payment would be more than she told them she could afford to spend. They had my Pregnant child hostage for 6 hrs. This is unacceptable. I nor she will be coming back.
Way over priced. I use KBB as guide and their prices exceed the high retail side, section of buying from a dealer, by a couple of country miles. They say they only use NADA as a guide. It shouldn't be that big of a difference in price. Looked at used cars. Buyers, do your homework before buying.
The only reason we went here to purchase a vehicle was for the deal we were given. So if you are looking for a good negotiable price after doing your homework, this is your place. But once they get your money, don t expect anything but a mess!!! This was my 4th vehicle purchase in my life and I have NEVER had so many problems! First, they spelt my name wrong on my purchasing paperwork and when I corrected them they told me it didn t matter... ok??!! So because they didn t have the correct information, I had to sign the entire paperwork ALL over again on another day. Pretty sure there were more papers added this time, and different numbers-seemed a little sketchy!!! Btw, the finance man, Elijah is nice but NOT HELPFUL at all! He didn t go over any paperwork with me, just gave me a pen and told me to start signing.. very unprofessional!! Second, I was never given a copy of my accurate paperwork with my accurate name, just the paperwork that had my name spelt wrong; therefore, I am unable to get a tag for my vehicle because obviously the name on my paperwork and the name on my license doesn t match! AND LASTLY, here s the WORST PART, because I bought my car on the nastiest weather day of the year, I was asked to bring my car back on a different day to have it detailed & serviced. I dropped my car off at the service department at 7am (where I was told to take it), and was called an Uber to take me to work. The entire 8 hours I was at work I never once was called or given any information about my vehicle, when it was done, or called an Uber to pick me up from work. After multiple attempts and left messages trying to get an update on my vehicle, and speaking to about 8 different people, including a manager, not one single person knew where my BRAND NEW PURCHASED VEHICLE was, nor did they even have any information on my vehicle in their system. They basically implied that I was crazy, and maybe dropped my car off at another dealership... NOT JOKING! They literally had no information WHATSOEVER of my vehicle, or where it was. Come to find out, they had sent it back to the dealership, with my salesperson, and made no notes anywhere in their system of this. No one had any idea where to find my misplaced car! After hours of trying to track down my newly purchased vehicle, that I ve had for 4 days at this point, I finally got back to it, only to see it hadn t even been detailed on the inside... Basically, the service department is a joke, no one seems to be very professional in any department, and I m still waiting on the copies of my accurate paperwork I signed. The only good things I have to say is the salesman, Randy, is very sweet and the only one that seems to take care of you, and Tyler, that works in the porter service, needs a raise because he was the one that had to come pick me up from work because they didn t call me an Uber.
