The University Blvd team is the best. Jon helped me with replacing the lug nuts on my car after the key was lost. He was so helpful and guided me where to buy new lug nuts to save money. Every time I go to express oil the team is so helpful! This is truly the best location for automotive service.
Fast and friendly. They offer to take care of the small stuff you put off changing like wiper blades, fluids and rotating your tires.
I was their an ask one of the workers to put different information in on a car I was driving? and they took it upon thereselves to put the wrong information in the computer so bad idea to me......listen to the costumer because I asked first before I drove the car around
Quick and easy battery replacement. Glad that is all it was. Courteous and efficient service. They had me pull into the oil change area for battery exchange instead of waiting for a bay to open on the repair side. Saved a lot of time. Really appreciated the good customer service. Battery cost more than I would have thought, but this place beats the sideshow at Wal Mart auto center any day Return customer to EOC.

I appreciated their work on my oil change, though they did upsell me on a filter which I will know not to fall for in the future.

How can you complain about a 15 minute oil change. The sign lists ten minutes but it is more like 15. They checked my filters, tire pressure, and my signal lights. They topped off my water levels and cleaned my windshield while I waited. The attendant was very kind. I may not return to this specific location because I have others closer to me.
Both Philip and John go way out of their way to help you and make sure your car is in the best running order possible. Always ask for them their prices are very fair and they only do what is needed
Waited for an hour to have my oil changed. Technician told me my air filter needs to be replaced and I told him no it s fine. Not realizing at the time he actually replaced it when I saw it on the receipt I asked why he did it. He said I told him to and he could dig the old one out of the trash to replace it. Already being late to get back to work and not knowing what was already in the trash and possibly on my filter I just left. Awful service. Will not go back to this location.

Friendly, I arrived just before closing (my own fault) so they were unable to help me but they recommended the best place to go next which was very helpful.
Friendly professional service. After a day driving south with a faulty A/C system and 90o, found the shop with good reviews in my search. Philip and his team found the problem, found the replacement part and put me back on the road in cool comfort at a reasonable price.
It was a dreary Wednesday morning, my car had two tires that were low on air and I had been going through the usual disappointing experience of trying to find a gas station with a working, credit/debit card taking air pressure machine. I was 0/3 , so I decided to call the nearest Express Oil Change to see if they could help me and that's when James answered the phone, little did I know at the time that I was in fact talking to the real MVP. He said "sure I can help , just pull in to the left when you get here and we'll get you taken care of". I pulled in, James ran out and filled my tires full of air, and that was it, he cheerfully waved goodbye. Thank you James for the wonderful customer service.

I drove across town with my babies, in traffic and rain - pulled up 2 minutes before they closed and they wouldn t help me. They said they d been there since 7am. Thank goodness I drove down to the one in Homewood and they were more than happy to help.
The sign up front advertises an oil change as being 10 minutes. That's a lie. I sat there for 20 minutes and watched three other cars to drive away before I eventually gave up and left. I watched them do all sorts of unnecessary things to the cars in front of me, clearly in an attempt to charge more money. I will not be returning to this location.

Tried to get them to patch a tire but they were closing in 30 minutes and refused. A basic oil change is almost $50 but was done in 10 minutes. Good locations but expensive and do not go the extra mile

I ve been here to get my tires rotated twice and balanced once. I have 35 inch tires on my truck and John was able to balance them no problem. Both times I have been here I got in and out in under 20 minutes, however that might be because I visited on a week day around noon both times. Very professional service, certainly my go-to spot for servicing my truck in Birmingham.

I travel all over the country and use express oils changes. My company uses ARI so it s fast and easy with no waits. This was my 3rd and last time at this location. Waited 45 min then was asked to sit in the parking lot while paperwork was being done for another 20! Horrible experience
I was downtown at rush hour, and my car overheated. Was looking for a gas station, but instead lucked upon Express Oil. I cannot say enough about the excellent service I received! Kelly was the guy who took care of my car--- went to a lot of trouble to diagnose and fix the problem. He explained everything, really went above and beyond, and despite my offering to get my oil changed or something I could do to pay him for his time, he declined all. So not only was it fast, caring, and excellent, it was also FREE. My goodness, if I could give them 10 stars I would!!!

I have been visiting this location since it opened. I used to visit their old location for many years as well. They are always nice and knowledgeable. It is the the only express oil change location that I can proudly say is my home location.
I took a chance and bought my tires from here. Initially when I got my car back I noticed a huge chunk cut out from my tire the same day I got my car back. I took it back up there and they said they couldn t do anything about it. I figured maybe I had ran into something even though I had the car for less than 24 hrs. They told me they would speak with a manager and have them call me but they never did. A couple months later my tire began to go flat all of a suddenly. I would fill it up and it would go a couple days and then go completely flat almost randomly. I brought it in again. They told me nothing was wrong with the tire and that maybe somebody is letting air out of my tires. Then couple months later it starts doing it again. So I throw my doughnut tire on my car and bring it in. Now they are saying they can t look at my car until tomorrow. I don t what they got going on but I WILL NEVER BUY tires from them again and I will definitely be searching for a new place to get my oil changed.
Always very fast. Staff is friendly. The mechanics in the shop are well trained. If you don't get there early for a repairs it can get crowded quickly due to their location near UAB Hospital and the University of Alabama Birmingham.

I am a big fan of express oil change in general but today my experience was even better. I was driving home and car was running hot. I stopped here and they were able to find the issue and fix it within a couple of hours. They were patient with us and the customer service was amazing. I highly recommend this business!

Today, I took my vehicle to Express Oil fearing that I needed new brakes thus, a costly repair. After timely inspecting my vehicle James told me that my brakes pads may need replacement in 3 or 4 months but not today.
I want to applaud James and the staff at Express Oil for his/their honesty. They could have easily told me the brake pads needed replacement in order to earn a fee or meet a quota. Thank you James and Express Oil for not being like your competitors!!!

Very honest people. I came thinking I had a problem with my car and everything was working fine. I dont know much about cars and when I open my mouth you can tell. They could have easily lied and took my money for something I didn't need. I trust them so for now this on is my go to shop for any car problems. I been here three times thinking I had a problem. But only once I actually needed some basic maintenance things done.
The service at the University Express Oil in Birmingham, Al. is superb! I am always astounded at how well I am treated at this service station. Everyone, and I mean everyone, including John, Wayne, Phillip, Blake, James and all those who I see but don t know personally on a first name basis, are courteous, trustworthy, respectful, professional and efficient. This morning I pulled in with my Sprinter Van and asked John if he would fix my ABS Speed Wheel sensor. I told him I was about to drive across country and I had to have it working otherwise my cruise control would be disengaged. John immediately had me pull into the bay and in less than 30 minutes had the wheel off, the old sensor pulled off and replaced with a new one. He then brought the bill and I could not believe how reasonable the charge was - $50!
I am certain that had I taken my Sprinter to Mercedes, the time and trouble would have involved a week at the minimum of waiting time, and the expense for doing the same job would have been ridiculously high! Thank you John for taking such good care of us, and to Wayne and his crew for servicing our cars when we come to have our oil changed! I highly recommend that anyone needing auto repair work and/or an oil change go to see these folks! 5 plus stars!
This place is horrible...They've had my truck going on a year now and still don't know what's wrong with it and have not been communicating with me at all. If I want to know something I always have to call them. I'll never do business at the Southside location ever again...

Very friendly and do good work when I need to have it done. I normally go to the Leeds Express Oil to do routine work, oil changes since I live near there. But when I need to drop my vehicle off for the day and go into work, this is my go to place. Highly recommend.
Not sure of what they were doing...a bring back from a different store, same business, they was trying to cover up what the other store of theirs, had done. "No matter" it got fixed!
The first time I came here to get my oil changed, it was a pleasant experience so I can back a second time with my new car to get my transmission fluid flushed. When I pulled up, I had low tire pressure so I asked them to check it out and FIX IT. When I returned to pick my car up, I asked them what was wrong and they were like oh you had a nail in your back tire. No biggie right? You would think they would have fixed it since I asked them to. WRONG. The following week I had low tire pressure again and took it back. They said oh we don t fix anything unless you tell us to . I said sir, you had my phone number and knew I had a nail in my tire. So instead of them calling and asking me what I wanted them to do, THEY LEFT THE NAIL IN MY TIRE AND FAILED TO INFORM ME THAT THEY DID SO AND LET ME (a young girl) DRIVE OFF IN A CAR WITH A NAIL STILL IN MY TIRE. So, they squeeze me in seeing how dissatisfied I was then proceeds to tell me I can t fix your tire because the nail is too close to the tire wall . Well that s fine but they SHOULD HAVE told me that THE FIRST time I was there. So I take my car down the road to Good Used Tires on Greensprings and the gentleman there FIXED my tired and had my car ready to go in less than 10 minutes for $10. I WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS SHOP!
