Good food and good sides. Jamaican jerk chicken. I was told the quarter leg was the better choice but wished I stick with my gut instinct and went with the wings. Nice place to hang out for a bite. Recommend to try it out.

I love this restaurant very much. theres a unique atmosphere. The meals are splendid. the service is powerful and the personel is professional. The cost is satisfactory. I highly recommend.
Quick service, friendly staff and most importantly great food. I can highly recommend the pork sliders. Go and get involved. Anyone working at 600 W. Chicago that hadn't been here, get there.
Tried this place in the past with my friend and I am obsessed since then. I enjoy the awesome character and fresh dishes and beverages. 5 stars from me.
Severely inflated prices coupled with underwhelming flavors (bland yuca fries, even with their forgettable seasoning, microscopic $4 sliders lacking depth) leaves this casual restaurant as a disappointing pass.
Got the chicken quarter, comes with a side, cole slaw, a little festival dough ball for ~$11 after tax. Its enough to satisfy 2 people who aren't super hungry, or for 1 that is. Very generous amount and variety for the price
The place offers a nice variety of fresh food. I loved dining here. The employees are always very kind, prices are affordable and the spot is always neat.
Jerk has very good food. It is a little on the pricey side if you are interested in nice portion size, but the quality of the food makes up for the quantity. It's not in a great location, but enjoy stopping in when I can.
I think this place would be a lot more popular if located at Halsted and Milwaukee. Instead it's at Halsted and Chicago, almost no foot traffic there.
If you are looking for some spicy jerked chicken, this is the spot. I have tried the pork and chicken, some pieces of the chicken quarter was a bit dry which was surprising for a leg piece to come out dry. Pork was excellent. Three different sauces on the side that range in heat, Very Spicy Jerk to mildly spicy BBQ. The jerk mac and cheese is some of the best mac and cheese in the city. I think this restaurant might become a new favorite of mine on GrubHub.
Corn, bacon side were good as well. Although the bacon was served rather cold. Meal is medium to low priced for Chicago. I would give a total of 3.5 stars.
When I say THIS FOOD WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE PLEASE believe me. It was my first time there and I am still upset with myself for not knowing about JERK. Modern Jamaican before that day. The owner was right across the bar from me (didn't know it). After telling him a few times that he REALLY NEEDED to try the food he revealed himself to me. I bought food to go and didn't share it when I got home. I'm going back soon!
Parking is across busy road, less 1 star. Restaurant itemized every food item so that you can customize your plate. Jerk chicken was different from other Jamaican restaurants, done is small pieces, preferably to make sandwiches. Very nice atmosphere and soft music to have a conversation with anyone. A plus, all around glass to see outside, especially if you were parked outside on the street.
FANTASTIC!!!! The staff is super friendly, the food is AWESOME, especially if you like spicy cuisine. My only complaint is that it is a little pricey, but given the location, I think it's fair. Try the brisket sandwich and Jerk Mac n Cheese, you wont be sorry.
In general the atmosphere is really relaxed and there almost always people here. Well dont folks, I will be making the trek down more than once.
So, I normally like this place. A good amount. For some reason what I normally paid a shade under $12 for I now pay a shade under $14. I don't get extra food or bigger portions - it is just a price increase. Why is there such a high increase? It is almost 20%. Is the chicken more expensive? If so, what do customers get to make up for the increase in rate?
I completely understand that sometimes you have to do this but this is a bit too much for what they offer. I won't be coming here anymore.
The food was so-so and over priced. No Jamaican server or cook in sight. Overall, an ok place, thought u could get better. The ambiance isn't Caribbean either but it's nice
have stopped in this slow moving restaurant five times in the past 6 months. 4 out of 5 visits left me standing by myself waiting to order for what seemed like standing inline at disney world on the busiest day, (xmas). they are for sure a laid back staff. warning !!! do not go there on a lunch or dinner break, you will be back late or back hungry. rather go to a 7-11 store next time
Expensive but worth it. Food was delicious, no complaints! And the rude girl sauce, loved it!! The food is very authentic. When in the area will definitely eat here again!!!
I had to wait like 20 minutes but it was well worth it! My Jerk chicken thighs were amazing ! very juicy and tender with some spice kick to them , Jerk fries were almost too spicy but still good.
I ordered jerk wings & fries....horrible!!! The wings were just dry seasoned & u can tell they were not marinated. The fries would have been decent if they weren't sweet. This is NOT authentic jerk. There are at minimum 3 other jerk places in Chicago (2 out west and 1 in Hyde Park) that are 100x better..the seasoning is authentic, the chicken (all meat, including wings) is marinated well, & the prices are fair. This place lacked all 3 of those things. This place is cultural appropriation at its worst; creating a watered down recipe & placing it in a newly gentrified neighborhood. I can almost guarantee that anyone giving this place 5 stars hasn't experienced real Carribean jerk food.
This place wasnt good at all after eating the food herr I never had sage mac and cheese the food was to spicy and the sauces was strange I couldn't eat the food that cost over $40.00 but the only good thing was the soda to help with the nasty taste in my mouth.
I admire this place! They serve high class meals, they have a rich menu, The cook in that spot is a professional, I love a lot eating all their food. The food is consistently of high qualtity, the service towards the visitors is efficient. I go often to this place and I not even once was unhappy. Highly recommended.
This place is incredible. I ordered it from uber eats and it truly was one of the best deliveries I've ever had. The food was packaged beautifully, the order was correct, and everything, including the fries, was warm and as if it just came out of the kitchen. If you are looking for a place to deliver stop reading reviews and order food from here, I can't wait to eat the leftovers.
If you want salmonella, they have great options for you to choose from. Also, the fantastic staff refused to offer my money back when I was dissatisfied by the whole plate. She also asked if I needed my own change back. Great idea though.
Ordered Jerk via Doordash. Thr packaging was good, and the flavor of the jerk brisket and jerk chicken was good. But the Mac & Cheese and Candied Yams were very disappointing. The cheese in the mac tasted artificial and the yams were not made Jamaican style, at all.
Unfortunately, I am not able to select a zero star rating. I am appalled at what I received. I order jerk wings and I received a pathetic serving of burnt party wings. Additionally, the portion sizes are shameful. As an example, the small jerk mac and cheese was wrapped with foil in a sauce cup. Futhermore, the large rice and peas is simply 4 oz of rice. Next, I must mention that my order of yuca fries contained exactly 4 fries. Finally, the food was flavorless and bland. The food did not resemble carribean food in taste or style. I must say I have learned my lesson and I will not make the mistake of dining here again. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. They basically serve over priced / glorified bar food. This food is not an accurate representation of Jamaican cuisine.
This place was awesome! After a long couple days of being stranded in Chicago because of airport problems, we found this place and they were so welcoming! They explained the menu and even gave us a bunch of free samples so we could enjoy ourselves as best as we could. Not to mention the food was AMAZING. Great experience!
Loved the place! Taking a bite of the Jerk Chicken and sipping the Rum punch took me back to Jamaica only thing missing was the beach . Definitely will come again. Love the modern feel and customer service. Five stars for me!! Oh forgot to mention all the sauces are fantastic btw!!
It wasn't good, I've tried it a few times because I told it was but no. Last visit I had jerk boneless chicken thighs and it was tasteless and completely dry. I was asked what I thought of it gave my opinion. It was replaced with quarter dark and it was the complete same. Definitely will not go back
I remember driving past this place throughout the build-out of the restaurant. I hadn't been in until this past summer and it was insanely delicious. My sister had had food from their food truck and wanted to try the actual restaurant. Everything was remarkably good. I thought the sauces rivaled Lilies and as far as Jerk chicken goes it was some of the best I've had. We ordered a lot of food because there were a few of us so we got to try several sides and there wasn't anything I wouldn't order again. The plantains were delicious, the mac n cheese- which is generally a hit or mis at some restaurants was very good, the rice, everything was great. The staff were friendly and interested in us being new- that we enjoyed everything. I look forward to going back.
I celebrated my birthday this evening in this great place. Well we enjoyed a brilliant evening and the venue was certainly one of the reasons for that happy evening. The team collaborated in a splendid way, the cuisine was appetizing and my guests were very happy. We shall no dout come back again for more events. thanks very much.
I used to love this place but since the pandemic the food is terrible The hushpuppie thingy is way different (Don t like it) and candied yams is different it s diced sweet potatoes and not candid now .... and my food was ready in 10 mins which was at room temperature and I will not be returning due to this being my second bad experience
I was very apprehensive when I walked in there. I had tried their food at the food truck and was not at all impressed by the quality and quantity. So to my surprise, the food was actually very delicious. I do agree with some reviewers that the food is not exactly the traditional jerk chicken. However, that is not to say that it does not taste good. Far from it - the level of spice is perfect. Also, it's paired with a most delicious island slaw that has a kick to it. I got a side of sweet plantains that was also perfectly done.
Extraordinary vibes and very personal service. The food was fresh and delightful. Will absolutely recommend this spot to others. Convenient rates and big portions. Keep it up.
Have not been here and had a bad experience. Service and food are both amazing. Atmosphere is relaxed and casual. It's rare that you have a restaurant that can be both family and friends oriented yet still be modern and spacious. Bravo!
It was cool, generally when I go to most Jamaican spots I expect to have oxtail, or just a big stupid plate of food, that's not the deal there though, nonetheless the food wasn't bad the place aesthetically was dope...
Great food, modern restaurant. The flavor was authentic(my wife had the chicken with hot sauce. I enjoyed my chicken with mild sauce.) She said it tasted like home! I have to confess that she was concerned that a place with such a modern look would probably produce an Americanized taste. Her worries were resolved with the first bite! The festival and island slaw were delicious! I wish that the portion of rice and peas had been larger, but you can't have it all. The ripe plantain and hard dough bread were great finishing touches. We will be back whenever we are in the area!
Excellent food! Decent value for everything you get. The main portion of chicken thighs is very filling. The spices they use are perfect. I really like the "festival" dough treat they include
