good service but extremely average to bad food
the turkey burger was awful...they made a rachel that was forgettable
Be prepared for the wait, but its totally worth it. Great food and service. I've never been disappointed.
Great food. Highly recommended the omelets especially the Santa fe omlet.
Breakfast is amazing. A little on the spendy side but worth it!
The strawberry and cream pancakes are some of the best I've ever had.
Food was fantastic. Try the hash browns, best I've had. Little bigger potion would be great. Overall, very nice place to eat.
Always a challenge getting seated and the host remembering who showed up first. I've seen multiple people argue with the host at different times for screwing something up. Great food though.
The waiting time may be long but the food is definitely well worth the wait. The service is great and the food quality is excellent; everything from the home made maple butter syrup to the home made orange juice.. It's a local establishment and there is outdoor seating as well. Again, the food and the service is great and the price is reasonable. Would definitely recommend this to my friends and family!
Love this place. Great coffee, delicious food and pleasant servers. Never disappointed!
nice place. clean and great service. food was very good
My partner and I stopped by on a sleepy Saturday. Walked right in and got a seat. You can't ask for a better breakfast. The service was top quality. They were very on top of their covid precautions. This was my first time here and the food is outstanding and I will definitely be coming back.
Tasty breakfast and large selection of items on the menu that I look forward to trying.
Very good our waitress was very good at suggesting what she liked and she wasn't wrong will be back.
Prices are a little high, but the food is good and so is the service
Great food and service, but the dacor was very basic. Some people like fancy looking restaurants, but that's only appearance and lends nothing to the quality of food or service.
Hands down the best breakfast place I've been to anywhere in southern Minnesota. Pancakes and french toast are so big even one can fill you up, and delicious. Cheesy hashbrowns are amazing, coffee is good. I think they make their own pancake syrup which is great too. Always really friendly service. The only down side is the parking, but there's a ramp nearby if you can't find a spot in their main lot.
I visit every time I'm in Minnesota. Best pancakes!
Lived in MN for 20 years and I heard about this place 5 years after I moved away! What!?! If you live out side of St. Paul, rest assured, the Long haul is worth it for a morning breakfast. Try out their mega mimosas. Their pretty extra for an extra personality
But here with a bunch of my friends and got their ultimate bloody. Wasn't the best Bloody and was a little pricey but the service and food was amazing. Definitely will be going back to try to breakfast one of these times
Wonderful cafe. Great meals and one of two best tasting coffees I've ever had.
Food was delicious but there were a bunch of tiny mistakes made that kinda ruined the dining experience. I assume it was an off day. Typical in every business
Beautiful ambiance. The personnel were pleasant and attentive to our needs.
Jensen's has been one of our favorite places for breakfast since we moved to Burnsville in 2015. We always bring our out-of-town friends here when we have company.
Not one thing came out as ordered. Hollandaise on the side? Nope, all over everything. Extra whip cream for pancakes? No whip cream at all. No toast delivered with our dishes as printed on the menu. When we finally got our servers attention to correct this, she brought out a plate of dry toast with no butter and no apology. Drink refills? Forget about it.
We ve been here plenty and this is the worst experience we have had
Great food, brunch all day. Can be a wait on weekends though.
Good lunches. Favorite is their Tuna Melt on an artisan bun with sweet potato fries.
Don't care for their oven baked omelets. Always overcooked and brown. Tried them several times. Can't make scrambled eggs without making them brown either so I gave up on breakfast.
Food was delicious and relatively inexpensive. Quite a long wait for breakfast on a Sunday though!
Wait time terrible then 40 more minutes on food skipped us in line . People came after us and we're seated before us time. I was hoping it wasn't discrimination. Sure looks like it. Wasn't seated until my wife asked them to check the list. Sad you still experiencing this in 2017.
Very nice place. Recommend it. Parking lot is small but there's a parking garage also available. I was there on a Sunday afternoon for brunch- it was very busy. Wait staff was great but kitchen was a little slow. They have a full bar and serve breakfast all day.
Covid protocol was evident. All employees wore masks as did the patrons who were not eating. Food was great as Always and I recommend the cheesy hashbrowns. The syrup for Pancakes and waffles is out of this world.
A Bloody Mary with Sunday brunch...hey, don't judge! Jensen's Cafe has a good selection of food with great staff to support the steady stream of customers during peak times. Having many classic menu selections that appeal to customers from diverse backgrounds, Jensen's is certain to have something that satisfies a variety of taste buds. There's outdoor seating available too.
This place is quaint. Avridge wait seems to be about 30 min that being said Zack was a wonderful host got us in exactly 30 min , say high to Zack. Patty was a helpful waitress. Although she didn't want to be photodgraft .lo we will ba back.
One of my favorite breakfast places in the Twin cities! It's usually pretty busy but the weight is quite reasonable. 11:30 on a Sunday for instance was roughly 15-20 minutes.
Ive only eaten breakfast here. Great service and food. Portions are very generous.
30 minutes and $10 for 12 potato cubes, 2 strips of bacon, 2 small eggs and a waffle. The service was s-l-o-w. 8 minutes to take our order, 15 to get our food, 20 minutes from the time our plates were removed to get the check. And there is never an excuse for water and coffee to be empty once, much less three times.
The bacon was better than most, the potatoes were good though scarce. The rest was bland. Eggs were bland (how do you make eggs bland?) and the waffle was so tasteless that even being drowned in the syrup and butter somehow still were flavorless.
Lunch here is great and a great value. Breakfast pales compared to places like Original Pancake House and even IHOP (seriously) while also being of terrible value. Less food for the same price with less service and less flavor = ugh. And certainly not the 30 minute wait.
My husband and I have gotten curbside pickup a couple of times since the shutdown. Everything we have gotten has been delicious from breakfast to sandwiches. The staff is friendly. We will definitely continue to get food from here.
Love this place great food, great prices, great service. No complaints. Can't wait to try their supper club.
Great food! There is an adjacent shop you can browse while waiting. Calling ahead shortens your wait.
Since moving into the neighborhood I have had many enjoyable meals from Jensen's Cafe. This is my Go-To Diner !!
Great coffee and potatoes. Definitely coming back.
Really great spot for food, especially brunch. The new addition of the back bar is awesome. Been back there twice since the remodel and it's always so consistent. That syrup and Carmel roll are the ticket. Keep it up.
Place has really gone downhill. Greasy potatoes, overcooked eggs, and slow service.
I'm so impressed with this place, the food was best, and it won't break the bank. Very fair on portion sizes!!! The staff all seem to work together well, service was fast. I highly recommend stopping by when you're in Burnsville!
My sister and I visited Jensen on March 31st and our experience was mostly positive. We were sat next to a heinous couple. The wife had complained about not having more than two choices for bread however, I thought it was fine. It was good service, we were seated pretty fast. I had the stuffed french toast combo and it was more than enough food! A little expensive but that's to be expected in this area. Parking is horrible though.
Awesome food, excellent service even when they were super busy. Will definitely go back again.
Food was okay. Not my favorite. Service was decent. The servers made some racial comments after a large party left which was quite disappointing and left me with a negative feeling about the place. I will probably not return due to that
Thee breakfast spot in Burnsville / Apple Valley. Never had a bad meal and the service staff is experienced. During peak times you may have to wait in the lobby for your name to be called. (Inside of course). Parking lot is small so you likely will need to park in the (free) ramp just behind Jensen's.
If the manager got an attitude check it would be perfect. The other staff and the food are perfect. But the manager is always there with his sour face and bad manners.
Good food, and service. In a great location, very pretty part of the heart of Burnsville.
Servers are so attentive and food is amazing! We are greeted warmly and nicely each time we go to Jensens! Drink refills are super fast with coffee and water stations throughout the cafe.
Fabulous service, 5 stars. Poor food. Their hollandaise sauce is sour and unappetizing. The eggs on my eggs Benedict weren't seasoned. The cheesy hashbrowns weren't seasoned either, and could only be done with cheese, not without, which indicated they might not be made fresh.
If you like Perkins, you'll love Jensen's. Decent portions for the price. Loads of "breakfast-y" items on the menu. Not your place if you like several gluten-free options, and there's nothing unique about their ingredients/supplies. (For example, they serve TruStone coffee.) Overall, nothing to write home about. (Wait, does this review qualify as "writing home"?)
It's solid dinner fare. Service is good but it takes awhile for the food to come out.
Decent breakfast spot. Good service, plenty of parking, above average coffee for a diner, massive menu. Make sure to try the Norwegian pancakes and cheesy breakfast potatoes.
Every dishes are really good.. rush mornings, so make reservation and go
Stumbled into this place through Google! Only because the I Hop restaurant was closed when we got there due to renovation.... Had a gift card for I Hop.... We really wanted breakfast, soooo..... Googled restaurants nearby and saw Jensen's Cafe'!!!!! Breakfast all day!! And it's cute as hek!!!! Love the whole place! Very unique and cozy, great service and Happy hour Bloody Mary's!! Just ordered food so I can't review the food yet, I'll get back later for that....
