horrible! Get charged a bunch made up fee, stay away!!
horrible! Get charged a bunch made up fee, stay away!!
Liked: Location is good. Right on South Beach. They gave me an incorrect room (a 1 bed when I requested 2 beds) and a person came promptly to resolve the issue.
Disliked: No hotel parking. Valet parking is the only option for $29.00 a night. There was no ice on my floor and when called to get some ice from them, they told me that they didnt have anyone to bring ice, and that I had to go two floors above and see if there was ice there (they said the were not sure!) or go down to the bar. WTF? The room did not have enough power outlets to charge my gadgets. I don't recommend the hotel.
Strategic location a stone's throw from Lincoln Riad and ocean drive. Comfortable rooms. Good services WiFi and free access to the swimming pool. There are 2 free sunbeds on the beach
YES! YES! & YES! Staff is ALWAYS friendly, lobby always smells good! Two pools, one is rooftop, restaurant and pool side bar, waterfall "hot pool"(did I say that right?)... immediate beach access, soooo many options!!! AND they upgraded me to a SWEEET "suite" during my last visit...LOVE this place!!!
Great place. Service at first was slow since our room wasn't ready right away, however, the room was very modern and luxurious and we very much enjoyed our stay. The pool is beautiful and the workout room is awesome. It's located in a great place and I recommend parking across the street in a public parking garage where the parking is 16 bucks a day and not 40 something with their valet service.
Was a pleasant experience. Great location. It's hard to be a five star hotel so I couldn't give it five. But stayed on the top floor ocean view and the sunrises were great. Four and a half stars.
Very nice place resort fee is way too high at 33 per day. For that they do not even give a beach umbrella but charge 19 per day more for an umbrella. Room was big and nice. Place is clean and safe. Valet is 40 per day.
However the renovations have brought new life into the Royal palm it still has an old feel. Not a bad feel. Good value so close to everything going on.
The room seemed a little run down. Shower tiles were practically falling off of the wall. The AC was always on and fairly loud and struggled to get the room to 68. I'm glad I didn't pay full price because it cost $42 per day to park the rental car in their valet only parking garage.
The 2 bell guys who were there during our stay were very kind and helpful (I believe one was named Giovanni). There was no concierge on site and the front desk, or whoever was answering phones, did not seem to know much about anything as far as attractions, food, parking (aside from valet), etc. Definitely recommend seeking advise elsewhere or coming with knowledge. After about 9pm each night we also had an impossible time getting a hold of anyone for additional water or any info, forcing us to walk downstairs or wait until the morning. I'm on vacation at a resort, c'mon now, we all know people are trying to chill in the room in our undies and unwind a bit. I don't want to have to put on clothes just to track down water.
The rooms were nice but they do charge extra if you want a fridge or microwave, although there is a microwave in the lobby area. They were giving wristbands to guests to ensure no non guests were utilizing space, however that did not seem to be inforced as we saw many people wondering with no wrist band. Even I walked around for 1 1/2 days with no wrist band and was told nothing.
Beach access was alright, but kind of pointless being that they allow any and all patrons to set up shop right in front of you. Even if we opted for a little queen bed front and center for $100, there would have been at least 2-3 other groups in front of that to obstruct the view. The pictures also make it seem very dreamy on the beach, but when you get there you have to pay for an umbrella if you want one because it isn't included with the resort fee, but 2 chairs are included. Pretty tricky for sure.
There are pretty decent spots to eat and deliver very close by for breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night snacks, etc.
Friendly staff, steps away from the beach. Love the location.
Nice, clean rooms, friendly staff, convenient location.
Nice hotel, right on the beach and near Lincoln Road. Staff was excellent, extremely friendly. Rooms are a good size compared to many other hotels in the area.
It is well located but the room is very small and the breakfast is missing more, and the only good thing it has are the bicycles
Older hotel and not well maintained but very good location
The lobby is kinda beaten down and needs a rehab. But it is very central and the price was good
Had a great time here, friendly people and gay prices, great location!
Service is very bad as well as being an assault anything you ask for, has no fridge, anything you pay here, even to breathe. I arrived at 18:30 and the room was not available. It's not very clean either.
Juan at the reception was a rockstar with a warm welcome and swift to quickly set our group up in 3 hotel rooms. Very accomodating and helpful and hotel is sparkling clean and rooms
are perfect , right size and top comfort beds. Hotel has a perfect location with access to the beautiful beach! Definite 5 + star rating!!!
Worst rundown place . This is the first time I stayed . Door does open when you come back after.a long day of work. I have go up and down 4 times to get the key Charles . No one cares for the guest they are busy in their own world
""DO NOT!!!" Book with this hotel. They will not work with you or have any compassion due to medical emergencies. I had emergency stomach surgery and called to say I needed to cancel my reservation. Was not asking for a refund but I would think a credit would be a professional way of doikf business. I sent the letters from the doctor stating I was unable to fly for two weeks and this did not matter. Staff is very insensitive and does not care about the way they treat there customers. I can only imagine how horrible the service would have been had I been able to stay in the establishment.
I was very disappointed with my last visit to the Royal Palm South Beach, in the past I stayed several times and I loved the service, but this last visit which I stayed 6 days in the hotel from July 16 to July 22 made it clear that I no longer It is a place to stay since the service has changed for the worse, firstly the service at the reception is a bit slow the lack of staff is seen, several times I tried to call the room service and I had no success to talk to someone who could help, the cleaning service is very poor several times they just fixed the bed and left the trash and the dirty table, but what left me most disappointed was that my Rayban sunglasses disappeared magically from the room and I never used them or left From the room, I went to the reception to complain twice and they told me they were going to talk to the staff and then with the manager to see what happened at last I never had an answer no call to tell me that they were at least aware of the situation, I think that for a hotel so well known and of such size they should be more aware of the client and their stay, this was unfortunately my last visit to the royal palm at the end and after all Miami is full of good hotels, I give 2 stars for the location of the hotel.
Middle of the beach. Clean & Big rooms. Very nice hospitality. All the rooms are for non smokers.
Very helpful staff, gave us an early check in which was very helpful and also cut our daily resort fee in half due to the current remodeling going on within the hotel. Nice enough room. Overall a very nice hotel.
Booked from Priceline for a great price and awesome location. Room is clean and cozy, can see the ocean from the balcony, service is great, pool is beautiful! A hotel with great taste!
Typical of most beach hotels, the waterfront view is spectacular and the service is great, but the fees and extras are pretty steep.
We had in the first place a horrible room. Badly cleaned, misplaced and insects found. We were asked because considering the price we thought we were entitled to a better room. Which has been the case. 2nd top room, nice view, clean. We did not understand why we did not get this room directly if the hotel was not full. Negative point: $ 22 beach umbrella
We re currently waiting for our room which was promised at 4pm and others were getting their room at arrival way before ours.
Mind you were only staying for 1 night. This is not the first time were in Miami, but it will be for sure the last time we book any stay in this royal nightmare.
Nice art deco hotel, very friendly. Rooms are trendy and cool
We stopped here as 2nd part of a twin centre holiday at end of November 2018
Really wish had not booked this hotel
We were showed to a room all you could see looking out of the window was a wall
The bed had not been seen to
And there was a really bad dog wee smell. We told the person who had come upto the room with us
With our suitcases we were not going to stop in that room
Took the lift back down to ask for a better room .well the 2nd one had better view the bed had been seen to
Now for the food the first night we had a drink at side of the outside bar
Looked at the manu the food took 50mins to come and the food was really cold told the woman
She walked and had a talk to a man then she came back with the bill told her we would pay for drinks but not for the food she told us we had to pay for the food so was not really happy about that .
Now back in the bedroom we got to know at one side the bed was broken
May be some people have had a good time at this hotel but we did not
Very nice Marriott affiliate that was nicely renovated with helpful staff.
Deteriorated in the last year. It's not James brand anymore. Focus is on corporate clients, while "retail" people are second class. Everything got cheaper, except for prices. The hotel charges huge amount of money in "taxes and fees", gouging advertised prices by 25%, and that's before "resort fee". Soap and shampoos are cheap, cleaning is half-hearted and selective until you complain. Our hallway reeked of weed for days - college spring break, sure, but it didn't used be this way.
The staff is trying and honestly regrets what management does.
The location and amenities are still great, no one can take that away, but I'm not coming back
The staff was very nice and the location right in front of the beach made it an awesome experience.
Stayed here for a bachelorette trip. This was my fourth trip to Miami, and this wasn t the best hotel I stayed at. However, my experience was awesome thanks to an employee named Alexis Campbell. She offered to help the group of girls I was with when we wanted to take photos in the beach area. She was kind and patient, and the photos were so great that people thought we had done a professional photo shoot! If all employees had offered excellent guest service like Alexis, I would give this hotel 5 stars.
Good hotel. I will not return to this location. Promised a full view of beach, room changed to partial view and no balcony.
Beautiful hotel! Nice hot tub and pool with entrance to the beach. We stayed for our anniversary and had a bottle of champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries waiting for us. Only complaint is breakfast is overpriced but not a huge problem since there are options outside the hotel.
Great hotel. Room was extremely cold during cold front with no way to increase room temp. Had to turn of the A/C as a work-around.
Great location on the beach and a very helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.
Luv this place but u hv 2 say on top of housekeeping
For the price it was disappointing. Rooms are small. Beds were squeaky. Shower doesn't have decent exhaust. Water view was meh.... We could hear the people downstairs by the pool in our room.
I checked in late and just wanted to get to my room. It was a business trip. The hotel staff was worried about the view of my room (i was not) and they decided to offer me a nicer room which made the check in process take longer. Unfortunately it was right across from the elevators and noisy. There is only expensive valet parking. No self parking. Everything seems a little over priced.
Beautiful rooms, perfect location 5 star service all around. Not to mention the very competitive prices. I wouldn't look anywhere else when visiting Miami Beach again.
I just wish their reception area was bigger and had more staff. The SPG sign makes it very confusing as well.
very baddddd ...hiding fees after a booked on priceline and the can of coke is $6 dollars and a mini cookie bag is $10 ...says it has a balcony but u can t fit a chair in to sit out there
crab is wat that hotel is .
don t recommend
#1 place to stay in miami beach. I had a small issue with my room and they went above and beyond to make it better. Classy close to everything.
Beautiful hotel and a lovely free upgrade with my points.
I will never again stay at the Royal Palm South Beach due to the below and actively encourage interested parties to look elsewhere.
The room, location, and staff were nice (except one front desk person), so overall the hotel itself is fine, but my vacation was ruined by a mistake they made which I'm still dealing with 5+ days later: they double charged me for the complete stay at check-in (i.e. charged me $2000+ instead of $1000). This still has not been resolved, even though it was promised to me that it is an easily correctable mistake and the refund should take less than 24 hours.
It is unacceptable and incredibly disappointing to have a Marriott hotel, or any larger hotel really, to take 5+ days to correct this double charge mistake. The vacation with my girlfriend was ruined due to this. No money for drinks, shopping, food, or anything else. We were lucky enough that she could pay for the limited things things we did, but again the money I had budgeted for this trip would have been nice to be able to use. Five days later, as the charges I was able to complete (before I even checked in) hit my account, I'm dealing with overdraft fees all because the Royal Palm in Miami royally screwed me over.
Bottom line: look elsewhere.
Confused. Are there two parts to this hotel?
One part of the hotel looked new and the other looked old. I got the old part.
Pool and location are great. Gym wasn t too bad either but everything else was pretty old and dated. Had to ask for my room to be changed as it stunk of smoke!
Extremely noisy!!
There are tons of other hotels nearby wouldn t recommend this one.
I have stayed here in the past and it has been very pleasant. However, this time around, things were not so bland. When we first got here, they had messed up the rooms, not going to go into much detail about that but it was very annoying. The housekeeping is horrendous. They do a terrible cleaning job. They go in and out of the rooms. Not only that, I came back to room about 4ish expecting it to be clean already and what do you know, it wasn t. I expect a clean room after a day of relaxing at the beach. This was completely unacceptable. Also, the charging station in the room and the alarm clock just suddenly stopped working. Maintenance has to come and fix it. You can see how this is annoying? And!, the air conditioning was not working, we called down for engineering multiple times as they only came 3 days after we called. The robe inside the closet had a stain on it. Disgusting. The towels are dirty. The bed has too much lint on it and the tables are filthy. HOWEVER, if you re looking for a great location this is the place. And, the breakfast is delicious. But, I have to say I am disappointed.
Was disappointed in the hotel. Staff was nice. Poolside service was bad. The gratuity is added and the staff did not check on you and I was overcharged for drinks. Was charged 65 dollars for 2 drinks.
Beautiful hotel / resort. Clean rooms and awesome views. Service is awesome and beach site is even better. If you can book this hotel do it!
Pool, beach access right in your back yard, friendly staff, what more can you ask for!!
It is fine. Depending what tower you are in, the place can be great or dismal.
Loved loved loved!!! Can t wait to go back in a few months!!! Location great! Customer service excellent! My view was all I ever needed!!
Cute retro feel of the hotel but I struggle to understand how this would ever be considered a four or 3 star hotel.
Half our furniture was either aesthetically damaged or broken and not to mention the bed & mattress was a joke! (Something they would have at 6 motel)
Bikes were hardly ever available.
But at least the hotel personnel kind. At least at the front desk. When I called for more towels and they brought me one an hour after calling and when I asked the cleaning lady if she can change our sheets she refused to do so since she just changed them the day before. (Sorry I don t wish to sleep in sandy wet sheets. Not my preference when I stay at a supposedly 4 star hotel.)
Don t recommend booking here.
Location and service is great. However rooms have not been attended to. Multiple broken items (missing door latches, nonworking power outlets, replacement shower heads (original shower head not removed or repaired), loose hardware, no reception on TV, dirty floors, missing phone parts, leaking/running toilet, old towels, and broken furniture. The pool and beach service is wonderful though.
We want to book again to Royal Palm again next year. The staff is wonderful the rooms esp the upgraded rooms are amazing.. We will def come back next year
Room is small. Expensive but nice hotel. Small pool area. Beach chairs are a plus
Nice hotel but room service is very late. When you arrive at your room at 16h30 you expect your room to be clean. Two time I had to go the looby to ask for the cleaning staff and wait in the corridor for the time they do the work.
DONT COME HERE. Don t stay at Ocean drive at all . South Beach is a tourist trap with horrible food, everything is so overpriced, and it s not a good time to relax. Speaking about hotel, everything is old, mirrors have cracks in the room, they serve liquid eggs for breakfast for 21.95$ plus tip plus tax. My husband was literally loosing it. We paid so much money and it was absolutely not worth it. Food sucks, you go to the beach they say you have to pay extra 22$ for umberella. Our room was left open twice after housekeepers cleaned it. There is not enough words to describe how bad and expensive it was. They say cities like Panama, Naples, Orlando are much better to visit than Miami. We are very disappointed and will never be back.
Stayed there 2 nights. They didn t clean our room after the first night. Called twice two hours apart to get it cleaned. Came back after dinner and still didn t get done. Front desk made all sorts of excuses about being understaffed.
Great stay. Clean hotel with friendly service. Nice pool and easy access to the beach.
The hotel has been renovated so it looks nice. They are also 2 bars inside the hotel with happy hours. Our room was spacious and we had a great street view.
Good access to beach but found leftover food and trash in one of the cabinets. Disgusting.
Hotel with beach access. Good ambiance and spacious rooms.
