Good shakes and some crazy custom burgers. I just don't think a $10+ burger is worth it. Keep on the lookout for the seasonal shakes. December had eggnog shake.

Great burgers, old school atmosphere, you feel like you are in the 50's when you come in here, their burgers and delicious and their milk shakes are good too.

Excellent place to buy something when in a hurry. Their service is efficient, pricing is reasonable, great vibes. I highly recommend this place

The burger's flavor needs to add little bit more dressing to make it more tasty.

Shakes were great, but the burger and sandwich in our group we're just okay, especially given the prices. Service was very good. Parking during the peak lunch rush was difficult. It's worth a try, but there is a lot of competition in the bay area.

Burgers are delicious! They have and have always had a Tuesday special, $10 burger, fries, drink/beer I think...Try it out!

Decent burger, good quality meat, and generous portion. Do try the onion rings. Could be better if they grill their burger.

Tasty burgers, i recommend angy cowboy medium-rare.

The server was very polite and courteous and explained everything I didn't know that was on the menu , so I ordered cheese Burger and fries there's such a choice I wasn't disappointed it was delicious I would certainly recommend it and I'll certainly be back thanks for a lovely lunch !!!

Good food overall, service is very friendly. I would not recommend the impossible burger here tho. That burger tastes best cooked on a grill (IMHO) - they cook it on a flat top. Their southwest veggie burger is good tho.

Been to Jack's many times, always love the people and the food there. Burgers are juicy, fresh toppings and creative stylings - favs are the Whiskey Town Express (chedder cheese, Bourbon glazed mushrooms) and the Wine Country (goat cheese, balsamic onions, sauteed mushrooms). Hands down the best milkshakes on the Peninsula - I always get strawberry. The decor has a great diner vibe, and the staff are always cheerful and super helpful.

The short: great burgers with a variety of styles, friendly people who are accommodating and helpful.
We had a party of more than 10, so we could reserve a spot in the back. Parking is tight for their spot on El Camino Real. They are quick to get you seated and food comes in a timely fashion. We had cheeseburgers, veggie burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, lettuce wrapped burgers: they have a bunch. The meat was juicy and cooked well. The toppings are fresh and fries and onion rings were great. Stop in and enjoy!

Good service, good people... But the price was way too steep for a burger and fries! Walked out $20 lighter in the wallet for a burger, fries, and a Coke to go. It was good, but not $20 good.

Chicken burger was good. They do not want to seat you until your entire party is there

I went to Jack's Prime restaurant in San Mateo with my daughter. We were waiting more than 20 minutes and nobody came to us to ask what we want there. I asked for manager and a Lady(!!!???) came to us. We told her nobody is coming to give us services and we are still waiting. She said: I'm sorry, but what do you want me to bring it to you now? I asked her: you don't want to send somebody to us, to get our order? in a unfriendly way she said: what do you guys want to drink now? After all disrespecting acts in this night, we left the Jack's Prime restaurant and went to Round Table.

Tonight I went with my wife there, and you will not believe it, my wife was in the jack's prime parking lot and I asked for table for 2. A young girl around 20 years gave the table to two younger peoples and we had to wait, (they just came in and got a table, and we?!). The manager (same woman "no more lady") came and said: this is our policy. you are all here or you have to wait. And after that they offered us a small table, which were nice for to young peoples each 120-140 LBS, and not for us.
You will not believe that, we went to Round Table in 43th Ave, in San Mateo.

After my son s first day on his new job we were going to go for a fancy dinner but instead decided we felt like burgers and shakes. Jack s Prime fit the bill to a T! Very much a diner feel and delicious food. My son ordered a turkey burger version of their cowboy burger with onion straws, bacon, and barbecue sauce and I had the classic burger with American cheese because Bobby Flay says that s the only kind of cheese to have on a real burger. It was delicious! I chose onion rings as a side instead of french fries and they were light and crispy. My son had the fries which were also delicious. An Oreo shake to top it off I was just the ticket. Very nice service with a lovely waiter who was a lot of fun Very family friendly... just a great casual dinner option.

Best milkshakes in the peninsula! They give the extra milkshake stuff in a stainless steel cup. Burgers and fries are great too.

There's lots of great burger places in the area, but when we want burgers it's a no brainier we come here. Consistently amazing food, family diner style atmosphere, friendly staff. Great with beer is hard to turn down those fried pickles are great! The Cardinal is the best chicken sandwich I've had and I love the fries here. It's all good!

Food it's great! I would love to have a milk shake with soy milk next time.

Awesome spot. The food is great they give enormous portions so be careful what you order as a side the milkshake was fantastic and also comes in a double portion. Location is very easy to find and there's plenty of parking. very family-friendly place with plenty of seating and very fast energetic service, wish we had something like this back yet home in Nashville.

The burgers were really good. They were juicy and had great toppings. The only thing I didn't like were the fries, they were a bit salty for my taste. The atmosphere was good.

Scrumbscious burgers! I love the shoestring fries. I had the Wine Country Burger which had goat cheese on it. It was a delight.

A delightful spot famed for their burgers and shakes. They serve a vegan option by replacing with a black bean patty. The Phoenix on the flames burger is spicy!! They don't mess around. End with a shake for best results.

Great place for a casual, family-friendly meal, including Impossible Burgers! You can order the Impossible Burger any style -- angry cowboy is my favorite. Monday night is juggling night with Ben, who is super entertaining. Wine selection is very limited but quite good (centered on Joel Gott varieties).

Best burguers in the area. Service is always excellent and the food is really good. My favorite order is the Wine Country burger with sweet potato fries. Other good options are the Blue Ribbon, El Primo burger (secret menu) and Great with Beer.

Got the classic cheeseburger and some sorta cowboy burger I think with two chocolate shakes. They tasted good going down but both my husband and i had tummy aches a few hour's after :( want to give these guys the benefit of the doubt, so will try again and edit post if it changes.

A great spot to grab a fantastic burger. A clean and modern feel throughout with great ambiance, while still holding true to the "classic diner" vibe. I highly recommend their seasonal shakes made with the highest quality organic milk or their "whiskeytown express" sandwich. One thing to note is that parking is very limited and is quite difficult to find during peak hours.

A clean, no-frills burger joint with friendly waitstaff.

Great burgers they were not oily and the ingredients were fresh. Their shake was good not too sweet for my liking. Staffs were kind and their service was moderate.

This is one of my go to burger joints. The burgers here are eclectic and delicious. The servers are pretty good. The shakes here are tasty.

Several issues with the order. Burger was decent. Irish Nacho fries not worth the calories.

Wonderful service...and the food is good...I will be back...I will definitely bring friends...I'll probably bring friends with cars...the restaurant is a great back ground for photos as well.
