Love this place, really classy vibe. Top service and yummy food.
Excellent restaurant. All the staff were superb. We look forward to returning.
Excellent and welcomely old fashioned fish restaurant in the heart of the WestEnd. Way better value than its sister restaurant The Ivy. Worth taking the time to check out the parade of old theatre stars that gaze down from the black and white photos on the wood panelled walls, it's an entire history of variety.
We have been patrons of this restaurant for over 20 years. The food is exquisite and the service first class. One of our favourites are the longastienes and the roasted carrot soup
One of the best fish restaurants in London. I would try either posh fresh oyster or "standard" Fish & Chips.... Both are excellent! ;0)
Best seafood restaurant in London in my view. Beautiful historic place. Food always 1st class. Fabulous atmosphere. A real must.
Superb aquatic food and wine. Expensive but you pay for what you get. If you have a few Bob to spare treat yourself. Life is short eternity long.
Wonderful service, wondeful staff and of course wondeful food!
Great skate, perfect prawns and top notch tartare. Good service and a lively wine list, a good selection including some tasty English ones, Herbert Hall sparkling and a delicate Davenport Limney.
Excellent fruits de mer coupled with fantastic service.
A plethora of different seafood options. Very classy, very tasty. Would go for a smart casual attire.
Always great, bit pricey but quality and service excellent...
It s a classic place, and seafood very fresh.
I always have a good time here. Really love it.
Still one of the best seafood places in London, not cheap though, but justifies price with the quality given
I cannot compliment J Sheekeys enough, my favourite place to eat, the staff are always brilliant and attentive. The food is beyond amazing, plus the atmosphere is spot on. Tonight I had the cheese souffle which was so light, with a hint on cheese and truffles, my husband had the oysters, for the main I had the monkfish and tiger prawn curry, hubbie had sea bass, both of which were delightful. Looking forward to my next visit
Busy restaurant great for pre theatre. Food great not the cheapest but good quality
Overpriced restaurant with average sea food. Don't understand why it is so popular..
Fish and seafood restaurant with horseshoe-shaped bar, an open kitchen and banquette seating.
Lovely leisurely relaxed long lunch , great service and food
Loved it at the Oyster bar as usual, always good. Super nice young woman chef working behind the bar too!
Very nice seafood, excellent service and very professional staff. Although we have ordered too much, when trying to cancel one of our dish, the manager did not count it on our bill but still offered us the dish! Definitely recommended it for seafood lovers.
I had lunch with a friend the other day. We both had the half lobster and a bottle of white wine. The food was very good and the recommended wine complemented the lobster perfectly.
Cover charge 2 pounds per person + 12.5% service fee but service quality is not that good. Overpriced.
Good food & service - been here a couple of times and service has improved immensely of late
Fabulous fish...this is one of those places where everything you eat and drink tastes better than you imagine. Great decor and service as well.
Great food, great service. Fantastic for a pre-theatre dining experience.
Good atmosphere, very good service, fresh and quality fish and seafood with great dark beer.
Nice place, typical British atmosphere, nice and very good food. We asked for apple pie and they brought the puff pastry, but other than that, it was a nice experience. Fairly high prices, but right.
A Truly Excellent Restaurant
Three sat down. Excellent wine choices led us to Geverey Chambertin. Mmmmm. Light enough for fish. Highlights were the crab starter and Halibut and Scallop main. Fresh bread and great service (even though they were full) meant we had a fabulous night.
We will go again.
Superb restaurant. We arrived 10 minutes early and where seated promptly despite us being too prompt - thank you.
Starters and drinks arrived quickly, the crab bisque is logically served in small saucepan, poured into your bowl at the table, so it remains hot to the last mouthful. First time I've had crab bisque and it was delicious.
Mains arrived soon after, lobster thermidor, perfectly cooked lobster & exquisitely seasoned, the sauce had depth of flavour and was a delight. Smartly & traditionally presented.
My mother had halibut, again perfectly cooked, fresh fish.
The wine, the house white was a terrific bottle, highly recommended and well priced. Dessert, trio of desserts and macaroon, an interesting variety and very well executed. A pleasant conclusion to a very satisfying meal. To conclude, the service was charming, promt and very efficient, couldn't recommend it more, thank you!
Came here for starters before heading on to another place for a carb filled lunch(asian style). Service was good and posh place it was. Ordered the special of 6 pearl oysters and champagne.. The oysters were looking rather malnourished lol and didn't taste so good. Not sure about the other seafood but def not going back!
Fish restaurant in Covent Garden, expensive but worth it for a special occasion. I took my husband there for his birthday - he loved it as did I.
Great restaurant, very close to Covent Garden, with good food and fantastic deserts. The fish pie was to die for, and I'm not a big fan of the fish. Also the rubarber sponge cake was delicious. You can have for lunch a 2 or a 3 course menu for a special price. Do not forget to make a reservation.
My most favourite restaurant in London. Awesome sea food in the heart of London. An absolute treat. Sit at the bar in the Atlantic bar and watch your delicious food be prepared. Stunning.
What a lovely restaurant! Great food amazing service!!! What a shame that they made out as if we had stolen a salt cellar!! Perfect night other than that! Keep an eye on your salt cellar!
Very nice turbot, nice sides and a good cheese plate. Service was great and wines are highly priced but great selection.
Still exceptional. First class service, a unique ambience with old world charm, and divine food. A firm favourite.
We had a great dinner tonight at J. Sheekey. The tuna tartare was possibly the best I have had.
Amazing time in the summer, few tables outside.
Really quiet side-street with charming little bistros around.
Food is excellent. Drinks are really nice.
Always wonderfully fresh and great quality Fish - standards never drop. Never stops buzzing. Love sitting at the bar to eat, to see all that is going on!!
Brilliant seafood platter, fish pie and selection of pretty good English wines to accompany it.
Traditional fish restaurant in the heart of Leicester Square
Great food.Good service.Lovely atmosphere.Nice place to take friends for special occasions.
Very good seafood but expensive. Good range of fish and seafood all very well cooked and presented. Lots of history and character linked to the theatres
Enormous choice and exceptional food in a very traditional dining atmosphere. This does come at a hefty price
Old style historic fish restaurant. Fish is incredible and big variety to choose from. Great front of house and table service. The prices may put off some.
Incredible seafood platter reasonably priced. Great location for people watching when sat outside
An institution...if you like dish and sea food this is the place to go to...sureounded by pictures of theatre celebrities who patro uses this fine establishment over the past century...
We booked here to celebrate our anniversary and were disappointed when we turned up on time and the table wasn t ready for us. We were made to stand by the bar but there wasn t enough space for people to get past so we were constantly moving out of the way. When we were finally seated, we enjoyed our meal!
I can't believe it's taken me so long to discover this gem. Perfect for a later night bite. Oysters are a must. You can't go wrong with anything you order.
Very nice food but bad value for money. Good if you have a lot to spend.
My favourite seafood restaurant. A bonus that it opens late. Seafood platters are big enough for two people. Seabass was the best I've had in a while. Desserts are a must. Highly recommended. Worth the price
Fresh and skilfully prepared seafood. Was taken here for a Sunday brunch on my birthday. I was very impressed. Service was really good too.
Discover this hidden gem for yourself. You won't be sorry.
Door opened by staff, greeted warmly. Quiet and cozy, not a tv in sight. Outdoor seating, we preferred indoors. Terrific waitstaff. Food was prepared and presented very nicely. A lovely experience all round.
J Sheekey Restaurant is splendid; its sibling the Oyster Bar is equally wonderful in different ways. Atmosphere is just a little bit more casual; service is pitch perfect, attentive but relaxed. You order small or large dishes as the appetite takes you. Whole Devon cock crab = great choice.
Great experience!the best fish pie i have ever tasted
Food was not that impressive. Waiters very disengaged ! Got our order for coffee and tea wrong. Disappointing service! Very loud restaurant !
Restaurant is nice enough. The triumph is the bar next door. Sit at the bar and drink champagne and have a oyster or 12. Bliss.
Enjoyed our meal and wine selection. A nice atmosphere and fresh sea food. The lobster thermidor was excellent.
Mixed review. Food delicious, had the scallops and the monkfish and prawn curry which was very well cooked. The garden vegetables were delicious and I'd love to know what they were cooked in, and the parmsan courgettes were also very nice.
Overall, for somewhere I'd heard so much about, disappointing.
Wonderful meal and attentive service. I sat at the bar and the stool was so uncomfortable that I hurried to finish my main so I could leave. And as one who likes to linger over a meal, that makes me sad.
Now for the food itself: pretty great! Crab bisque could have used a bit more crab intensity but it was nice. The fish pie was outstanding... huge pieces of fish topped with buttery mash. So lovely. Had an side of spinach as well - it was very plain and would have benefited from some butter or seasoning of any kind.
All things considered, I would return. To a table. With a proper chair.
Decent service, good ambience, not the most impressive quality of food. While the mussels are interesting, cooked with coconut milk and chilies for a Thai aroma, the prawns are atrocious, scallops overcooked and rubbery, salads tasteless and unimpressive.
Walked in without a reservation on Sunday night around 6:30pm. The restaurant was EMPTY and when we asked for a table for two we were met with "oh, I'm not sure we have a table for you"... I have eaten at many very nice - and friendly - establishments and this is not one of them. If you're into snobby workers then this is your place. Do not recommend for the low-key foodie; you'll be treated like trash.
