This is my favorite place in London for fish. Been coming for years and this my first review.

Food always fresh and amazing. Service in second to none and all of this at a reasonable price.

Book to avoid disappointment

People do bang on about this legacy venue, but i couldn't see what all the fuss was about. Food seemed no better than a good gastro pub... but at twice the price. Low stars given for very poor value.

Food was good, however they should be more careful about oysters having sand grains or broken shell pieces in them . Cocktails were a bit disappointing, we expected better in this department.

Food is five star. Salmon was the best ever! Don't miss the gooseberry pie if it is still in season. It's wonderful. Unfortunately the sole waitress for our section was vastly overworked. Didn't take our wine or food order for 30 minutes, so I docked them a star. Nevertheless, with patience it is a fabulous restaurant.

Homey atmosphere and delicious OYSTERS! One thing need to mention is I found some of the SMALL shellfish (such as clams) on the seafood platter are quite tasteless, but they are all very fresh.
I visit here whenever I m craved for seafood.

Family favourite - we love this restaurant. It is consistently good with a really nice atmosphere. Great fish of the day and dover sole always delicious. A little expensive, but will definitely be back. My only issue on the last visit was that the mussels were curried, which was not how they were listed as being cooked on the menu, but apart from that a lovely meal. The best oysters!

The single best seafood restaurant. I can never remember what starter I have, maybe caviar sometimes, foie gras maybe...... I can't remember because of the Lobster Thermidor and shoestring fries. I have never ordered another main course in the place.

Looking for high quality post theatre food & drink? It's got to be J Sheekey. Especially if you like fish of course, which is their thing, but they cover the bases well. The late night buzz is friendly, open and very social. Always recommended.

I liked the decor and the atmosphere in the oyster bar side, and it seems to attract a well heeled clientele, but perhaps unsurprisingly the vegetarian option I had (tagliatelle pomodoro) was a bit on the bland side.

My favourite fish restaurant in London, hands down! Sheekey's always seems to find a space for you when you walk in off the street without a booking. Sit up at the bar and enjoy the company of the waiters and chefs around you as they shuck oysters and prepare the wonderful tapas sized dishes on the bar menu. From warm bread to start, through to fresh shellfish and salad dishes, all the way to the hearty fish pie, with home made truffles with your expresso at the end, Sheekey's delivers time and time again!

A fantastic, classic restaurant. Staff are absolutely lovely and the food is to die for. One of the few places in London to get properly fresh, great quality fish. Expensive, but good value for money considering how good the food and atmosphere is. Great for a special occasion.

Table for 2 at 7:30pm on a Saturday.

Table for 2 at 7:30pm on a Saturday.
It took half an hour to get our pre dinner drink order taken by staff. Cocktails were good.
They were out of oysters, mussels, cockles, caviar, prawns, and all fresh fish starters. We found this out after forty minutes of waiting for our shellfish share platter starter. Staff were apologetic.
My partner reordered a gravlax starter that the waiter said was on the house but they included it on the bill anyways.
The yellowfin tuna and the monk fish mains were both nice.
Overall an extremely average and expensive dining experience. Service was sub par for the cost of dining and definitely not worth the 12.5% service charge. Feels like a wasted night out.

Food itself was brilliant. Oysters and fish of the day was fantastic. Deal breaker was being told after our mains that they were going to give me my bill and no dessert or tea or coffee possible as they needed the table back by a very abrupt manager - very poor considering we had arrived 15 minutes early and ordered swiftly from arriving. A real let down on an otherwise good food restaurant. Unfortunately based on the experience wouldn t recommend to others.

Perhaps my favourite place to eat in London. Just perfect seafood (razor clams and chorizo a particular highlight), and the service is both friendly and professional. The bar itself is stunning, and you're made to feel so welcome as soon as you walk in.
Ideal for pre/post theatre as well.

Atalntic bar was dramatically overpriced, albeit good quality food. The spanish waitress was professional and helpful, the greek tall guy was all over the place, docile and the south african equally so. Standards are clearly slipping here. Best try the restaurant next time. Very disappointed and fekt totally ripped off.

The worse seafood plater I had today . I don't know if this restaurant will care about my review but my seafood had sand on it and I couldn't eat it. I expected to be a good quality at that price. So I spent nearly 70 pounds and I couldn't eat it. I feel like I was eating dust. The service guy noticed that on the seafood was sand and offered to take the plate away but did not offer to replace it with a clean one.Very disappointed.

The best seafood restaurant in London if not all of UK. If you want a bargain try the fish soup in the brasserie. It's a superb bouillabaise style soup that is served with rouille. Delicious, and great value. I prefer not to sit outside due to the street aromas, but many seem to bear it.

The restaurant is nice but a bit cramped and dark. The oyster bar is excellent; more relaxed, more fun and more oysters which are the best and freshest in town. Also, the razor clams and lobster tempura are not to be missed.

London | There is a restaurant near Chinatown, a paradise for seafood lovers

J Sheekey Atlantic Bar
28-35 St Martin's Ct, London WC2N 4AL

The J Sheekey Atlantic Bar is a very casual seafood restaurant serving seasonal seafood. Located in the vicinity of Chinatown, which is full of gold, the space is very large, and the interior style of the restaurant reveals the modern taste. Because it is the nature of the bar, the bar is also very large, wrap-around layout, can directly see how the bartenders mix wine, very close.

Even on Monday night, when I went, I saw a lot of people in the store, especially during the peak hours of 7 or 8 o'clock, I could see Xiaoju's friends, couples who fell in love, and couples who were in pairs.

Quercus Beli Pinot (Pinot Blanc), which was tried in the restaurant today, has a refreshing taste and a little floral scent, which is quite good! Very suitable for girls to drink!

Although the bread before the meal is a bit hard, it is especially delicious with butter, but it is recommended not to eat too much, because the seafood behind is really full!

This time I ordered Plateau de Fruits de Mer (39.5 lbs) with my friends. The seafood platter is really too much for two people. This kind of weight is worth four people. I suggest that you can order a share for two girls. Eat something else!

The most striking thing on the top is the eight oysters. The salty sea water and the oysters themselves are very fresh. The taste is smooth. With sour wine, it can neutralize the salty taste of oysters! The shrimp in the middle is very fresh, and the sauce served in the restaurant is very good!

The second layer is shrimp, crab, clam, green mussel, squid, conch, etc. According to the waiter, the seafood here is bought from various parts of the UK, some are in the south of England, if the lobster is not good, it will be from Canada. import.

The crab in the middle is really delicious. The pliers have basically been knocked open for you. It is eaten with the sauce. The meat is delicious and tender and can stay on the tip of the tongue! Conch is also my favorite, very q bomb, very chewy!

After eating the seafood platter, I ordered a Fish Bowl dessert. This dessert chef is really very powerful. The shape of the fish tank has a fish-shaped fish inside, attached to the rock of the chocolate, and the pudding tastes below. With fresh fruit!

Forbidden Black Forst Cherry, looks very chic, chocolate ice cream with the surrounding chocolate powder, Cherry shape realistic, surrounded by alcohol-soaked cherries, the internal shape is quite special, the taste is very delicate! I didn't expect the finishing dessert to be so wonderful!

When I was eating this time, I received a red envelope from the store, which was especially warm. Later, I asked about the promotion of the Chinese New Year in the store.

In the red bag is a store-specific leather keychain, which is said to enjoy a 25% discount between 12-17 points. Anyone who goes to the store from February 1st to February 15th, just clicks Plateau de Fruits de Mer. I can receive this keychain, and it is also very good as a decoration!
