No parking at times!!! Have to park at firehouse subs across the street
I almost enrolled this year but the staff was so incredibly rude that I knew it wasn t the school for me.
This college is fantastic, I moved from a private college back to Knoxville and couldn't afford the university of Tennessee yet but this college gave me more than an education. They got me a great personalized experience and got me a great job that ended up paying for me to go to UT this community college is the best around
This college is a joke. They hold on to students financial aid for way longer than any other school. They won't answer why and they constantly change the times when you will get the money they owe you.
I would not suggest this college to anyone. The hidden details they hide from you and then the fact if u have an unofficial transcript you are not allowed to attend their school what so ever. The cost of which I was told is over 17,000 for a year in criminal justice and I had spoke to Sara. It was made very clean they could have cared less if I attended their college or not. Not to mention was not friendly or helpful. Lessened learned. Wont ever call them bacn and dang sure wont ever go to this college. Don't waste your time!
This was a fantastic location to watch the 2017 Solar Eclipse from!
Please make sure that all information you give prospective students is correct on all platforms because some of us have to take off work to talk to an advisor and being told any day at specific times over specific days is outrageously frustrating
Good school and good environment. Has a big pond so there is a lot of ducks and geese that love to hang around. Be careful driving in because the ducks and geese do like to cross/block the road sometimes. People also do frown upon people who run over these creatures.
If you need someone to hold your hand while you apply, register, and take classes, this is not the school to go to. If you are motivated and self driven, then this is a great school to attend.
I have had a great experience here so far. I am currently in my second semester. My professors have all been very knowledgable, friendly, and I commend those who are able to make a three hour long lecture stay interesting. Looking forward to completing my degree here. The admissions and financial aid staff are wonderful and very helpful in walking you through the process of registration and setting up payments. Bookstore staff are always helpful and nice. Library is great and (usually) a nice/quiet place to study.
Great walking/jogging trail along with a duck pond, disk golf course and room to roam around and play.
Security monitors the property and there are usually plenty of folks around, making it a safe place.
My only complaint has always been how nasty and filthy the water and surrounding area is due to hundreds of Canadian Geese residing there year round.
This school doesn't teach you anything and ruins any hope of graduating on time
Great school, terrible cafeteria, spend 100 dollars there in a semester and they'll still get mad if you want some mayo for your sandwich you brought in!
I received my Associates Degree from Pellissippi in 2007. I came back last year to take a few online courses b/c I am pursuing my Bachelors at another college. The courses are much less expensive and the instructors are great. However, the staff is very abrupt and rude. It doesn't matter if I am talking to a receptionist, advisor, business associate -- even the online Help Desk. I am not sure what the issue is, but I have yet to encounter a friendly staff member. I would recommend this school b/c of the price and knowledgeable instructors. The school staff though, needs an attitude adjustment. They need to remember that we are the students and without us they don't have a job.
The best college-level math teacher I ever had was at Pellissippi.
Rude and unhelpful support just trying to get simple information over the phone the lady offered no help, was obviously annoyed to be on the phone, and hung up on me.
Currently attending student, although completely online at the moment. Missing being in a classroom.
Playing disc golf for the first time.Didnt do to bad will play again need disc ... Didn't have any dealings with college... Sorry. But the course was halfway decent.
When I went there, I went off the road during a rainy day, not one person stopped to help me and I was charged $200 to have my truck towed. I was late for my class which wasn t excused and soaking wet, and pregnant with my son. I went to complain and it was not recorded, super shady. Speech teacher would only give me Cs after I complained for changing the submission guidelines at the last minute when we were due to turn our work in.
Pellissippi is a great college! Way better than any I have attended before.
I absolutely loved my time at Pellissippi State especially the Straw Plains campus. I always felt welcomed, and like the professors truly cared. I have recommend Pellissippi to several people, and will continue to do so.
Great community college. Every professor I've worked with has made time for me and has been understanding. Students are very diverse. Warning for transfer students! Make sure you know if the credits you take transfer to your chosen school.
Excellent community college probably one on of the best in the nation. A great college to prep you for the University of Tennessee.
If you have a learning disability DO NOT GO THEIR!!! they have a terrible resource office if you can even call it that. The teachers don t care at all and try very hard to work around your disability so they don t have to meet your needs.
I attended this community college after high school. The first semester I attended went beautiful, then the second semester came and I wasn t able to get to school due to snow and it turned back on me. Started a semester with poor grades and I couldn t play catch up so I ended up having to withdraw.
This school set me back far financially because I didn t get my financial aid for the semester and they laid the a big bill on me (after being told I ll only need to pay them all of my financial aid check and pay a few hundred dollar difference), which was no problem. The biggest problem I have with this school is my financial aid check wasn t even sent out to me like it was supposed to & I m having to pay for the classes that I went to, JUST because the Algebra professor DIDN T confirm any of my attendance when I was there expect for a few days due to flu. Also note that I had an 88 in Algebra too
A superb value in education, with a friendly campus and support staff, a faculty committed to learning, overall dedication to training students for furthering their careers/education. Excellent online and night programs for non-traditional and other students.
Parking difficulty about par for a small college campus, and certainly not as severe as the University of Tennessee's parking situation. Getting on and off the campus through the two main channels can be trying at rush hours and class changes.
Good staff, buildings are a little dated. Questions are answered and help is available for those that ask.
Some science professors need to ease up on the daily tests and focus more on teaching/explaining.
I love it! The professors are amazing, and they care about you! I highly recommend this college for a 2 year college!!!
This is a joke of an institution . I feel sorry for anyone who associates themselves with this place. Who do you think you are?
This is a great school! When u sign up for classes u need to know which college your going to bc schools require different things but they will tell you. I went to division street and Hardin valley. I like division street better, there were less fresh out of high school students. There is always tutoring which is awesome and my advisors were such a big help to make sure I was taking what I needed with the path that I chose. Don t wait until last minute to get classes. The only thing I didn t like about this school was 1 teacher(bio. Ms. Cindy W.) do not get her unless bio comes easy because its a crime to ask questions and she will remind u ALOT that most of the class will fail her. It s very inspriational . Also the food trucks(at division) are awesome and Hardin valleys cafeteria is awesome too! I highly recommend this college. And just in reply to the financial aid comments, I got mine back a month after school started but I can still use it for books and tuition at school, and Idt it s the school who holds it or gives it out , it s the state.
