A campus with award-winning architecture. The satellite building houses the Chancellor Hall and a multiple storey library, fashioned after decks on oil rig. The huge canopy extends from the satellite building to cover all the 23 blocks academic buildings and laboratories. From the sky, the canopy is an outline of a star, with a park that is part of an original forest in the center.

Guard house of UTP main entrance should get an up grade due to the information of blok / building visitor will visit. Do not expect visitor will know well about the destination building they want to visit. This is the part of the job for the guard house to know and provide a guidance for visitors ..

Having experienced and studied in a local private university and 1 American university before coming to UTP, I can safely say the management here is horrendous. Communication is near non-existent with its fragmented social media culture. Information is mostly relayed through WhatsApp and if you're not in a lot of groups, good luck getting information. A lot of the pages on their sites (and related sites) are outdated, and/or missing. Adding courses and applying for housing every semester is an extreme hassle with its slow server, and first come first serve basis without any merit-based system whatsoever like most prestigious universities. This university only has top notch research and academic facilities, but everything else is a disaster to deal with. The 12-week trimester system is badly implemented. Students & lecturers are both rushing the syllabus, thus skipping some topics in the syllabus. Positives are however, you do get 8 months of internship and academics here are up to par to develop better students. The clubs & societies here are quite interesting. It's concealed cleverly to mostly benefit the university as the clubs are created primarily to organize and hold events for the university, and less about the leisure and development of the student. It's a lot different from the clubs in other private and overseas universities. Food here is average and affordable, but could be better in terms of health and cleanliness. Commuting is difficult because the bus services provided are minimal. There is also no reservation system for sports facilities, which may annoy some people. The internet is inconsistent, but has improved lately in terms of speed. The WiFi is terrible because the extenders/router are not configured properly that you have to sign in into the same network every time you are connected to a different router/access point Also, for a private university, this place is relatively religious (Islam), and that might throw off some people because the culture here is more like a local public university than a private one. That could be good, or bad depending on the person. Overall, there is more to complain than to praise that I could not cover everything in one review. But, do only enroll here if you really want that credentials and don't mind the constant problems you're going to face until you graduate.

This is the WORST university in Malaysia. The staff are unhelpful. I registered for chemical engineering course. The staff seen my message and didn't even want to help me when I am unable to register a student account. I contacted at least 5 staff and none of them have been helping me to solve my problem. Never waste money in such university which does not cares about their student matters. Go for other university instead.

Universiti Teknologi Petronas is one of the leading universities in the neighboring country; Malaysia. The facilities to support lecture activities at Universiti Teknologi Petronas are very complete, including a large library.

Petronas University of Technology is a private university in Seri Iskandar, Perak, Malaysia. Another name is TUPet. UTP was founded on January 10, 1997 when the Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas was invited by the government to build a university.

One year doing my PhD research here as GA then I resigned because of family matter. A very good research facilities but the management is chaotic. I was accepted as GA for June 2015 and I already completed all requirements like 3 or 4 months before June. Then my status got stuck in EMGS till I need to come by using ASEAN tourist Visa to ask both CGS and Registratiom office of what was happening (my hometown in Jakarta). They really "ping-pong" me and finally at the beginning of September my student visa done. But when I finished the regristration, the CGS asked me to fullfil the GA hours for one semester, in just 3 months. OMG!!! It wasnt even my fault that caused the delay but lucky me my supervisor was very wise and helpful toward this GA hours. And after one year, it was announced that the GA allowance cut down around 25%. It really ruined my financial plan and stability as I need to support my family in JKT. I am really sad to leave this university as the facilities are really good and my supervisor is a helpful person. For food and culture, I got no problem even though this campus kind of too religious for private univ. This because a lot of similarities between Indonesia and Malaysia culture especially with melayu people. Overall, I am giving 3 stars. (5 stars for facilities and 1 star for the management)
