Being from Las Vegas, NV, it was nice to still see slot machines however the place was packed full, way too hot inside, pricey machines and tough to get any winnings. Place is very clean, nice people and overall gambling entertainment.

Nice, but not great. It's dated, though it appears they are starting a renovation. The lounge was mediocre and the TV's are pretty bad. Also the wifi was awful. These are kind of important for me when on business travel. That said, location is good.

Just had a great stay at the Islandia Marriott. Great facility and my room was very nice. The staff are well trained and provide courteous, exemplary service. Felt well cared for. Mr Deepak Mishra, the front office manager, was so helpful with a situation I encountered. Great restaurant staff also. Really good experience. My hats off to the manager.

Rooms could use some renovations. They didn't acknowledge my gold elite status and claimed I wasn't entitled to breakfast which indeed I am. Had to request it several times before they finally acknowledged it. I was there for a wedding and they also wouldn't give us the welcome package..not sure that was their fault or not. Typical NY tristate area customer service..which is usually bad.

Beds were ok, room was spacious enough, however outdated, but the bathroom was mildewy in the shower and hairs from a dirty rag were all over the ceiling & walls. Service & personelle were very friendly & helpful. The elevators looked beat up. Hope some of the cleaning issues were a fluke. The dining was fine, I liked their home made kettle chips.

First, let me praise the hotel staff for their smiling professional service which was a highlight of our trip. Unfortunately, the room was far from perfect, in fact it was sub par. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling away from the wall in a large swath and there were rust stains and mold in the tub. Additionally, the pool area had an almost unbearable clorine odor which lingered down the hallway into the main lobby.

Rooms were nice, but the indoor pool was loud which was disturbing to the rooms facing the indoor pool. Also, a hotel with 10 floors should not have just 2 elevators, which becomes an issue when one stops working.

Had a fee drinks at the bar. Fairly reasonable. However, sat down and ordered some appetizers on a Saturday evening. They took over 40 minutes and did not come out at the same time. Food was just Ok.

Currently under renovation in pool, gym, and mezzanine and it is somewhat loud and inconvenient. The room looks and feels old compared to newer hotels; especially considering this is a Marriott.

Staff is friendly but nothing stands out anymore. The restaurant is decent, but the specials were way overpriced.

I want to thank the manager Melissa. I called the hotel and asked if they could bring up strawberries and wine i bought in the room,as a surprise for our 20th wedding anniversary. They told me no problem and Melissa would set it up. When we got there they set up the room and left chocolate covered strawberries a balloon and upgraded us. They went above and beyond. They helped to make our anniversary very special.

Outraged that there is no hot tub, no free complementary breakfast like EVERY OTHER MARRIOT IVE BEEN TO. Also they say they have a basketball court but actually just threw a rusty hoop out in the parking lot with a net hanging off the rim. To top that there are only two elevators with no waiting and most of the wait is spent outside waiting for it to come down

While I didn't stay at the hotel, I was there for a seminar and spent all of my time in a conference room. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. No free WiFi was a bummer, but overall that was my only negative. The hotel was beautiful as well.

I made my reservation a few weeks ago, for my wife's birthday (and a night away from our son). We've been staying at this hotel for years. Imagine my dismay when we pulled up to "Jake's 58" instead, a future casino hotel currently under construction. The lobby/mezzanine was patched together with sheet-rock and spackle, and the dust immediately started setting off my wife's asthma. We made our disappointment known to the front desk, but we were already there, so decided to try to make the best of it and quickly hurried up to the room to get away from the construction. The room was another disaster, with dust everywhere, a chair with a ripped cushion, and a TV on the other side of the room from the bed, too far to actually watch clearly. We called down to the front desk, only to be put on hold for ten minutes before I went down to talk to them in person. I spoke to the supervisor on duty, who offered us an executive suite- just a bigger room with a TV even further away from the bed. We had had enough, and left. I find it completely unacceptable that I was not told about the change of name, the construction, or the fact that the pool was gone. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE OF ALL THIS WHEN I MADE MY RESERVATION! I can only assume that this was just a quick cash-grab by Marriott before they lost the hotel to Jake's 58. Needless to say, my wife's birthday weekend was ruined and I will never stay in another Marriott again. Thank you for nothing!

The location of the hotel is easy to get to, just off the LIE. The rooms are large and the staff are really great. I would really suggest having the special. The curry is amazing. I praised the chef in person. Also in a few months the hotel will be hosting a casino on the grounds for those who like a little something to do in the evenings without leaving the hotel.

The staff here is really really nice. I had a couple things come up, & spoke w the evening & morning shift & both were very very helpful & very polite. & they had hot cider & hot coco in the lobby last night & fresh coffee in the morning.
The room is comfortable & clean.
I've only eaten at the restaurant one, but don't really remember what I had.

I really liked the hotel. The hotel was very clean. I liked the shuttle service to the metro. All of the employees were very nice and friendly Casey went out of his way for our stay
Always wanting to help you He gave us restaurant menus a found the area and recommended a few of them for us he helped us get a safe for our cash and helped us with the metro and which metro to take to get to NY and back. I thought he was outstanding in customer service I would defiantly stay at this hotel again.

Great place for business travel. The bar not only poured a stiff drink, but had tables designed to charge your computer, work and eat in comfort. Friendly staff and a comfortable room rounded out a perfect stay.

"Derek" treated us terribly. We checked in at 2ish, went to the restaurant and spent over $90 on food & drink for a few hours... we get a call saying my mother went into ICU... obviously, we had to leave. He didn't care at all- was as cold as ice. Charged us $100 for the room even though we never stepped inside it! He knew what had happened, but refused to help us out. But, at least we got to listen to the bartenders complain about how much they hate their job there...
Honestly, after what Derek did to our family, it's clear these people don't care about their guests one bit. With plenty of other options, avoid this place!

Hotel was so-so. Lobby and lobby restaurant were very nicely renovated and the restaurant had excellent food. The rooms are very outdated and the wifi was terrible....I couldn't even use the wifi as the speeds were so slow.

Front desk staff was great. Was down grabbing breakfast one day and was greeted by a nasty woman saying they don't open until 6:30am. I don't mind waiting but I don't need to be yelled at by a women with a bad attitude. I was going to extend my stay another three days but after that, I'll take my business elsewhere. Won't be back.

My only experience is with the dining and bar area when I meet there with friends and family who lodge there from out of town. The food and service is quite exceptional but can be a bit pricey.

It is not very often when I think I owe the Manager and staff a excellent review but it is truly deserved in this case. I booked 2 nights initially at the hotel. The first night we were unable to arrive do to weather. Melissa was very kind and let us cancel with no charge. Thank you Melissa!
The nest night from the moment we entered the hotel we were treated with top notch service. It started when we were welcomed entering and the gentleman who checked us in was extremely polite and courteous. My room was large and very comfortable. We had only booked one night for a party of three but we all agreed we should stay for a week. The evening manager Joe was able to accommodate our request and we were planing on enjoying our stay.
Unfortunately our company changed our plans and we requested the next morning that the hotel cancel our stay of the extended period. Our request was granted! I was very pleased with all of the staff and the hotel.

I give all of the hotel staff the highest marks! Thank you and I will visit again.

All the Best!

I am sitting in my hotel room right now with an inner room overlooking the lobby/dining/pool area. This hotel has no sound barrier. It's an architectural feature and nice but if you have rooms overlooking a huge echo lobby make the glass/rooms soundproof. Between the paper thin walls, doors that slam constantly and the inner rooms guests get no peace. If you want a quiet hotel go somewhere else or request an outer facing room. I also have a sore throat from the stale/musty smell of the linen I'm sitting on. On another point, 2 elevators for a 10 floor hotel is craziness. The time spent waiting to get on/off the lift is frustrating.
Also I've stayed in rooms for half the price with free WiFi (none of that here ) that were larger, cleaner and MUCH quieter. One more note if your tall you'll probably be rubbing your noggin on the ceiling of the shower. Bathrooms are small so good luck with that.
I know I sound like little Ms. Negatively I'm just disappointed by what I'm finding for the Marriott name and pricing compared to other less expensive places. If it were my choice for this weekend I'd at the holiday inn.
