Planned orderly, the whole tour down to 2 hours is enough. The disadvantage is that the number and size of the animals is too small to be compared with the world famous zoo, treat it as a small exhibition hall, don't have too much hope!

* Grab the public ferry from wharf 4 (make sure you have a Opal card) considerably cheaper than captain Cook cruises $55 vs $4

One of my most memorable time spent in Sydney. I went there with my sister and my 8 year old niece and we had a fabulous time. We took a ferry from circular quay and arrived at the zoo which was an exciting ride in itself. Since one way cable ride is free and included within the cost of the entry ticket (we bought our tickets online and used e tickets), we took the cable ride up to the zoo and the start point of the cable is right next to the ferry gate. Once in the zoo, we explored different animal enclosures and enjoyed watching animals which were very active and visible. Highlights for me were ofcourse the adorable Koalas, red pandas, playtpus, Tasmanian devil, a mommy baby elephant duo, gentle alpacas and the stunning local birds of Australia. We also spotted a rare kookaburra chilling on a tree. One of the shows that we managed to catch was the bird show and it was delightful and very informative, loved it !!! The souvenir shops are also very nice with plenty to take home as a memory. Highly recommend to visit this place specially with your LOs, they would love it !

Quite a large zoo with plenty of animals to see. The tiger trek was slightly underwhelming, though, but the inactive animals aren't things to blame the zoo on. Relatively inexpensive entry fee (order online ahead of time) makes it a good value.

My best place to visit while in Sydney. Love the Taronga Zoo, the best in the world. A zoo always tells me so much about a country and Australia comes up tops. Love the giraffes, elephants, gorillas, tigers and Australian animals. Best views and love the sky lift.

This is a fantastic Zoo to visit with lots of unique animals that you don't get to see in other AUS Zoo's and most of the animals were active. the cost is worth the experience.

The gardens in the zoo are really nice with plenty of shady spots and there are some grassed areas for people to have picnics or just relax, also nearer the water animals there is a water pool for little kids.
also there are some parts throughout the zoo you get to see the views of Sydney.

unfortunately some of the Zoo was closed off due to upgrades for new enclosures and attractions however this did not take anything away from our experience as there was plenty to see and do as well as that the closed off sections looked presentable and respectful.

The selection of animals is rather small but therefore the enclosures for the animals are larger and very cleverly designed.
The ride in the gondola is good fun and gives a remarkable view over the city and the harbor. Also some of the views from the zoo (especially from the giraffe enclosure) are quite nice.

Awesome Experience for my Family! One should not miss if you visit Sydney... get to know Sydney's preserved wildlife from a different species of australia's birds. 30 plus that is! Comodo Dargon, meerkats , elephants and seals named after sydneys places. .. and of course who would miss the Koala's and the Kangaroo's .. the only downside in this Zoo is that you cannot carry or touch the Koala and Kangaroo unlike in Brisbane bit you can have pictures with them.. and the food at the cafe is good and a lot of choices as well. .

The Zoo is amazing! They have a lot of space for all the animals, everyone feels comfy and they take really good care of them. I took the elephant experience ticket and was sooo glad to see that they are really happy there! Will support them definitely again with donations and recommend everyone to learn more about those fantastic creatures.

Fantastic experience. We stayed in tents with amazing views of Sydney harbour. They took us on a tour was at night to see the animals and also the next day. Food was great. Talking of food we also got to feed some of the animals too! The zoo is huge, definitely worth staying over night to see the entire zoo without rushing.

Nice zoo, but overpriced. If you have a membership, then you can visit the zoo for free over and over again, but if you are coming from overseas make sure you've got some discount coupons from information centre to save some $$$ on entry fees.
