I like this place so much I asked my wife to marry me here. Best high-end hotel in Milwaukee hands down, from the rooms to service to the value of your stay. Not to mention the restaurant in the Iron Horse, Smyth, is one of the best restaurants in the city. Great place for a date night or weekend.

FABULOUS place to stay....for business or pleasure!

The decor is hip and chic in both the lobby and the rooms!
The restaurant and bar are wonderful - great bar patio and the restaurant menu is sophisticated and the food is tasty!
The staff is welcoming and very accommodating too - I lost a bracelet in my room - only to discover this post check out. The general manager and front desk staff searched my previous room, found it and shipped it back immediately.
I was staying here for business, but would highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful experience for leisure travel as well! I would never stay anywhere else in Milwaukee!

This hotel is remarkable. They manage to be quirky and elegant simultaneously. The rooms are beautifully unique and the food is excellent. I stay in hotels more than 100 nights a year, and have had the privilege of experiencing the best and worst hospitality had to offer. With all that experience, I can say it's a hotel I would be excited to go back to.

Pros: Nice ambience, friendly and efficient staff. Cons: Overpriced food, which features one or two "exotic" ingredients per item to justify the cost. Unfortunately, the food is rather bland.

Great hotel!! The vision of the entrepreneur that put this together was spot on. Rooms are great. The revitalized building is great. Massive oak beams and the right mix of new and modern industrial. Try it you'll like it.

You gotta see this! Loving attention to architectural detail & beauty of presentation; DOGS allowed, & a quiet, real library with interesting books! A draw-back is that they are not open about the cost of almost-the-only parking, $30 per night; & on-street parking is tricky in this area, with window-smashing a hobby near here as in many other cities. I'm glad we didn't know, as our price-point wouldn't have allowed what was otherwise a terrific visit.

Had Sunday brunch in the bar area. Cozy, cabin atmosphere with a minor sports bar feel. There was a decent amount of variety for the brunch buffet, which was all very good and thoughtfully planned. Would definitely come back/recommend to friends.

The food and drinks were really good. We only had bar burgers and drinks because we didn't make a reservation for a party of 10 as it was a last minute decision. They did their best to accommodate us in a separate area but we could only get food from the small menu. The place has a good vibe going for it with a lot of Americana memorabilia. I would go back to the restaurant if I could.

We stayed here once and have had many happy hours at The Iron Horse. The rooms are very nicely done and feel like a high-end SOHO loft...but with a Harley rider edge to it. The hotel is industrial, yet chic. Very beautiful timber and iron.

The bar is a similar story. Very cool decor and a great variety of drinks. The specialty drinks will mostly run you in the $9 to $14 range, but they are indeed a treat. Speaking of treats, they also have a nice menu of food for a bar, or for anywhere for that matter. Beyond that, they have a nice restaurant with full menu and amazing service.

I recommend this hotel to everyone that comes to town. And even if you're not staying there, the bar and food are worth a visit.

Pleasantly surprised. I knew the rooms were very nice from the photos & reviews but I was surprised by how quiet & well put together it all was considering it being a bike themed bar with a hotel sitting on top of it. Really beautiful place, room was expensive but very clean and in excellent condition. No commotion or any noise coming from the place or the guests while we stayed there & the view from the room was great. There's valet parking using the lot across the street for $30 but we parked in the Brix Parking Garage right next door for $15 & had our convertible inside a lit covered garage at night. There's ample covered motorcycle parking right in front of the Hotel, a full service bar, a very nice patio (although it's used for exercise classes in the morning when I'd've preferred to sit outside and enjoy a breakfast but that's just me), a sort of pergola with exer-cycles on it to knock the road out of your butt, a "library" that's extremely comfortable to sit & eat, read or listen to music on provided headphones, a lounge, a small gift shop...really a pretty nice place for about everything. After figuring the very stylish but a bit ambiguous shower controls out, the stay was second to none. Walking distance from the HarleyDavidson Museum. Extremely satisfied & will definitely be back.

Service, phenomenal! Food, amazing! I went for brunch and the food choices were plenty. The meat was so tender and juicy. And the server we had was very friendly and was always around and available to take care of our medium/large party.

I would definitely recommend coming for brunch.

Beautiful architecture and the layout of the space is very inviting. We were looking for a place for engagement photos and stopped to have some drinks. Most definitely a hidden gem here in Milwaukee.

There were 7 of us at the table for my brother's 60th birthday. It was a gorgeous day and a beautiful patio with flowers galore and many seats for people to sit. Our waiter was great. He was fast , friendly, I'm got everything right. It was a wonderful experience.

The meal was very good. We had the cheese curds as an appetizer and they were very good. No too greecy. I had the cobb salad which was very good as well. Service was very nice. We went for lunch on a week day.

THE BEST HOTEL I'VE EVER STAYED IN! From the rooms to the staff, the service is 5 star! You're welcomed from the second you walk in to the second you check out. The ASH restaurant is closed during COVID, but they still offer a limited (and extremely delicious) menu for outside sitting. Located conveniently next to a secure parking garage ($15usd per night) and located conveniently within walking distance the IRON HORSE is definitely a must stay for out of town travelers, as well as locals wishing for a nice staycation. Cozy beds, updated rooms, PET FRIENDLY, outstanding food, and extremely reasonable pricing, the IRON HORSE hotel doesn't disappoint!

This is a great place to stay. It's an old historic factory building that's been converted into a beautiful hotel. The room and beds were very comfortable and clean. Nice bathroom as well. The hotel bar has very good bartenders. I recommend trying the Old Fashioned. The hotel restaurant was also very good. They have free parking if you're on motorcycles.

Great staff, nice bar, room was good, bath was great. One thing to note, there's a $30. fee that will be added to your bill for parking. Surprise, surprise! So just add $30. to your room price. They should tell you this when booking. All in all, an above average hotel.

My husband and I stayed one night at this hotel. The furnishings were high quality and unique. The bar in the lobby served us cocktails that were very well made and delicious! We enjoyed hanging out in the cozy lobby seating with our drinks after we came back from dinner! The main reason this hotel is not getting 5 stars is because the walls between rooms do not block out ANY sound. We heard way more than we wanted to from the room next door. Definitely bring earplugs. I felt as though I could have had a conversation with the people in the room next door. One other very minor downfall was that when we arrived into our room, the lotion in the bathroom had definitely been used already. The lid was not screwed on straight, the bottle was half empty, and the outside of it had dried lotion covering it. That is really not a big deal, and was probably a simple oversight, but it did make me question how thorough the cleaning was.

The rooms were great and the staff was very friend...

The rooms were great and the staff was very friendly. We really loved the walk in shower! We stayed for two nights over Thanksgiving weekend. There were three reasons it didn't get a 5 star review. 1. No one picked up the phone once transfered to reservations when I tried book the hotel. Sat there for over 5 minutes. Had to hang up and call back to then make the reservation with the reception desk. 2. I saw an online Hatter package that did something with a local hat shop called the Brass Rooster. Clicking it online got me nowhere so I asked the lady at reception and she had no idea. 3. Extra Costs! We did not know that there was no parking and they made it sound like a serious pain in the but to find street parking, call the city and let them know you are staying overnight, and then deal with moving the vehicle once it hits 8am. So, you pretty much have to do $30 a day valet parking. Then every time you need you vehicle you also have to tip. Spent around $80 for two days of parking. Expensive food menus for breakfast and dinner, and the room was loaded with very expensive snacks and alcohol as well.

Went there for a Pug Fest event which was planned ...

Went there for a Pug Fest event which was planned months in advance however, you never would have known that by the way the iron horse hotel treated our group. The waitress for our event was extremely rude and very clearly hates her job which was disappointing to begin with, she gave attitude to the multiple different customers for asking questions like "can we order drinks or food now?". I sat at one of the first full tables yet we were one of the last to put our order in and that was only done because someone else at our table went to the bar to order after we waited 45 minutes. We then waited another hour and 15 minutes while watching tables that weren't even set up when we sat down get their food and finish eating before we received ours. After waiting a total of 2 hours we left without eating at all. Not only for us, but there were tons of dogs and many of us needed to use our water glasses to give our dogs water, the 3 small bowls they brought out for the whole group 1.5 hours after we had arrived didn't exactly do a whole lot when there were 6+ dogs per table. I don't understand how a restaurant that hosts event often can function and stay in business. It was a huge disappointment especially since this was out first visit to Milwaukee and we kept hearing rave reviews. Very disappointing and definitely won't be giving the iron horse a 2nd chance.

Very nice hotel with a rustic industrial chic look. Cool aesthetic! Even the standard room had an awesome shower and beautiful design. The room was clean and linens were nice.

I would also recommend staying in and enjoying the hotel brunch - I rarely have a great hotel restaurant experience but this is one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. Not ridiculously overpriced and very good portions on beautiful settings. If you are looking to relax, definitely kick back in the lobby on the comfy sofas and order a drink. Great hotel!
