This place is great! It has a wonderful atmosphere, and I've always had a good time.
Drove in from Atlanta to see a show here. For the size of the venue, I found the security presence was a bit ridiculous. Several times during the show an orange shirt pushed through the (packed) crowd, to do, I'm not sure what. This was a reggae/jam band, not exactly rowdy drunks. Otherwise beautiful venue, but sadly, I won't be back.
It was great everybody I came in contact with was awesome
Awesome place for a concert! All views were great. Went to see Nightwish. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Security guard helped us find a place where my short daughter could see the stage. Sorry I didn't catch his name but major kudos to the black security guard with the fur coat and hat. He personifies what southern hospitality is all about!
I would say ignore any negative reviews and check it out for yourself!
Intimate venue setting. Two levels. I prefer front stage right. Great view, not on the main floor. Sound is incredible. Nice layout and design. Tickets are always reasonably priced. I cannot emphasize how incredible the sound is. We ve seen Yelawolf. And, Disturbed with Sevendust; completely different genres. Yet, the sound projects perfectly. What I love about Iron City, is the All ages concerts. Plenty of them. Unlike other major cities, where it s 18 or 21+. Plenty of parking, in nearby lots and street.
Great venue, but they oversell tickets which leaves almost no room to stand withoit being accosted by the roaming wall monitors. It's kind of a pain.
Third visit, third excellent show, first time eating next door, will visit again.
Solid venue. Laid out well. Good sound and lighting. The floor is crowded and I have anxiety. So, I'm not a fan of the idea that I would have to pay $170-$500 to get upstairs out of the crowd.
I will not be going back to iron city after two bad experiences with the ludacris security (for concerts). I've been to hundreds of shows at multiple different venues. Never in my life has the security been so intense/inappropriate. The rude lady dug through my purse and then pulled out my keys. I had a one and half inch mace on my keychain and she refused to let me in unless I throw it away. That was absolutely ridiculous. If I had been mugged or anything while leaving that place without my mace, I would have most definitely take action against iron city. My father is a lawyer and he said that that was absolutely ridiculous for them to make me throw away my mace, and if something had happened to me leaving, we would be taking them down. The second bad experience was last night for a concert. Not only was I completely groped and pat down, the lady went through every zipper in my purse, including a little bag that I keep tampons in, and my wallet. Never has anyone shuffled through my money or wallet. The crazy security is making many people not want to come back to this venue. It makes the concert or event extremely unenjoyable. Iron city, lighten up. Quit treating us like criminals, and treat us like paying customers.
The music hall feels a little cavernous and quickly feels empty when a concert isn't sold out. Bartenders are quick and professional stage is big and you have a great view from the entire floor.
Small venue for awesome shows. I saw Dropkick Murphy's, the show was perfect!
One of my favorite venues with a great selection of bands and great beers on tap. The restaurant is also amazing!
Was the there for a drag queen Christmas naughty. Enjoyed the show. Can't say much about the venue because I didn't explore but the layout does seem adaptable to many events.
I've been to several concerts here since they opened. Been in the pit (Die Antwoord) and up in the "loft" (FFDP/Avatar). It's not a huge place, but I've enjoyed every concert there. If you can, and are old like me, get up front in the loft. DO NOT pay extra for loft seats if they aren't on the rail. You won't be able to see. DO go early so you can eat at the attached restaurant. Good stuff. Downtown so parking isn't easy, but not horrid either.
Limited seating. We went to see Black Jacket Symphony and they wanted $75.00 for a seat at a table.
Great venue but the staff at the door are not friendly at all.
Get there early enough to get a good spot if you dont have a reserved table.
Amazing Venue incredible sound. Great environment! I will be back.
Great place for events. Pulls in great music shows.
Great venue for shows. Ample room even with a sold out show
Always a great place to catch a show! One of my favorite smaller venues. And the restaurant there is great too! Highly recommend.
Fun environment with great entertainment. I've only had brunch but it was really good with lots of choices.
Birmingham s best music venue. The food and drinks in the Iron City Grill are great.
Great venue and an awesome starr. I saw Old Crow Medicine Show there recently and had a great time!
Always something good going on here. Fun venue, always plenty of bartenders!
Got married here, so I obviously love it. Beyond that, it's truly a fantastic venue. See a show here, eat lunch here, have a wedding here, just go here!
This was the Best concert experience I've ever had, got tables that were close enough to the stage & you're on a balcony. The drinks were decent considering and I just loved the atmosphere the price location everything about it
Iron City is a great concert venue. The staff is friendly. The bar is well stocked and the bartenders are very nice. The venue is somewhat small, which I prefer.
Amazing venue that everyone has to do at least once in they're lives. Fun, safe, and GREAT FOOOOOOD ANS SPIRITS
Great venue, and always the best place to see a band! Very up close and personal
Went here for a work event, was very impressed by the space and service.
This place is a fantastic place to go on any given day. I went with a friend on a gloomy Tuesday while I had a family member in the hospital. I walked in and sat at the bar and the service was immediately great. We had a bearded bartender who was a Marine as well as a musician. The food and drinks were fantastic and I would love to visit again. I heard the music is awesome there as well!
terrible bartenders.....terrible workers as well.... bhams biggest mistake.
Venue is fairly small, but views and prices are still good and facilities clean.
Loved the show and the shrimp and grits. It was healthy without breaking the calorie bank.
With Chris Stapleton twice, Blackberry Smoke, Gary Clark Jr., Corey Smith checked off the list and Sister Hazel and Joe Satriani tickets already purchased, this is my favorite place to go in Birmingham. Eddie did an awesome job coordinating my group for Blackberry Smoke
My only complaint would be the resturant is always full by the time I show up and I only get to smell the food.
Good sound. Large enough venue to feel exciting and big but small enough to feel intimate.
Iron City Birmingham is one of my favorite places. The food is always good, the Cuban is excellent! The staff is friendly and quick to get drinks and orders out. The concert venue is the best in Birmingham. Always great sound and just a very fun environment.
Visited this venue for the NF concert. It is really nice. Great bartenders. Security etc. Parking can be a bit of a pain but the venue itself was nice. Loved being upstairs to watch the whole show.
Terrible!I was told when i bought the tickets for Gregg Allman show if i spent $30.00 dollars in the restaurant,i could go into the venue early i could go before the doors opened. Our waitress said that wasn't true.I have a cold as well as my wife,so she went to the car and i called her when they were giving out arm bands.I had reserved seats. Here i stand in line in 40 degree temp and the doors opened.I go to get a seat and there were people in the restaurant still eating when we left that was brought in from a side door.People in front of me the same story, and they were in front of us.I also called after buying tickets to verify getting in the back way.I could had gone and got a burger, because what my wife ordered.Tip and all was around $37.00.I could had gotten a better meal for the price i paid.Gregg put on a very good show,'Looks like he also had a cold.Moral of the review is,Hell will freeze over before Iron City gets another $200.00 out of me.
Good venue. It has a good sound and they bring some good talent to Birmingham.
Favorite venue in Birmingham - intimate setting, great sound and a perfect view! Always good draft on tap, best drink prices/specials of any concert venue that I am aware of. Tasty food at the attached restaurant too if you come early.
Jo Dee Messina was AWESOME tonight at Iron City venue!!!!!
She spoke of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father all throughout the concert. It was really great!!!!
Her songs were great too. So glad I was able to go.
The band that opened for her was good too. The lead was Taylor Honeycutt. She was a good singer.
Nice venue. Sat in the Handicapped and was on right hand very front seats.
Wings were a little charred on outside but. Cranberry barbeque sauce was good.
Great venue. Organized staff. Intimate setting. Clean.
I've come here for a variety of shows, events and gatherings and I have always had a good time. Iron City has done a great job in making itself a part of the city and providing us with some of the best entertainment.
My favorite small venue for shows. Sound system was designed perfectly and the bands sound great.
Great venue. Lots of fun. Clean and just a great time and place. I will definitely be going back. Reasonably priced drinks. Low cover clean restroom. Security. All Around good place in Birmingham.
What an awesome venue! I loved seeing Dwight Yoakum and the security and staff was wonderful!
A very good music venue with a high-quality sound system. Nicely done.
Took my daughter to Digitour there she had a great time and good for me because they had an open bar so win win for both of us good place to go
Always have a great time at this venue! Doesn't feel like a concert, feels like a gathering of friends. We went to see As The Crowe Flies Sunday night and it was by far the best show I've ever been to!!! There is no greater musician than Chris Robinson!!!
Have been here a few times for different events. I really like this place and gave it 4 stars only because of the lack of lighting on the stairs. It was kind of scary having to traverse staircases in absolute darkness. The staff obviously realized there was some element of danger here because after my dad said something (he's 70) they started keeping the stairs illuminated with flashlights. Definitely needs to be fixed. I have a hard time believing no one has been hurt yet.
Love this place! Been here many times and it is always clean and correct temperature inside. And non smoking unlike most bars.
