I saw Hanson back in September. ICB is my newest favorite place to see a show. Friendly staff, and very accessible for those of us in wheelchairs. Clean bathrooms as well! Will be back on 1/23 to see another show. This time, I'm bringing my hubby and our 2 oldest boys :) Thank you for being a nice venue :)
Outstanding food by professional chef's and staff. Dining is wide open, full bar, live music in the restaurant and in same building as the music venue. Great experience!
Great venue, nice bar, has some great bands at this place from time to time.
I have been here for two events and it's been great both times. The world cup final in June was packed but service was always good at the bar. Last night I went to a UAB event with an open bar and service was even better!
Awesome venue. Hard to believe the names that have come through there, just thus far. Space is limited, so it creates a very intimate setting. The only downfall, if you want to sit down -anywhere, at any point- you can only do it in the mezzanine, and its $75 a person. Drinks are fair priced, especially for a venue like that. Can't wait to catch as many shows as possible at iron city.

Incredible place! The atmosphere is really chill. The food is unbelievable! The cook, Josh, is on his cooking game! I witnessed a customer, going on and on to Josh about the cured steak. He asked him to come out of the kitchen to shake his hand! The guy was a restaurant guru and he posted pics of the plated food on his Instagram Account. I haven't checked out the venue side but I've heard amazing things! I do know some really well-known bands play there and it's a great venue to rent for parties. I highly recommend!
My daughter and I had mom and daughter night and it was an awesome time. But any time i can get mom daughter time is awesome

Nice place for live music. Wish there was more seating. Almost entirely standing room only. Went back for the monthly brunch and was disappointed. Food was not worth the trip, but the atmosphere and live entertainment were good. Advertised grits were a no show. Bummer.

Typically a great venue. Parking is a challenge, and with open seating, early arrival is a must. Reasonable drink prices, and show tickets are usually worth the cost. I went and saw Primus in May, and that was a substandard experience. The vocals were so poorly equalized that the lyrics were imperceptible. At the same show, the crowd on the floor got rough enough that my wife and I were pushed to the ground. At another point, I had a fresh drink knocked from my hand. At another moment, a person next to me lit a joint. It wasn't their best night, but I usually have a better experience.

A bit crowded for the World Cup Final and it wasn't even as crazy as it gets for football games. Omelette bar was a great idea, however, it took over 50 minutes to get the omelette made because only 1 chef was working off of 3 skillets. The venue is very pretty, though, and very clean, and bar staff were very sweet to us.
I really like how open it was despite appearing like a smaller building. All the staff were friendly and helped even when I didnt want it interupt to ask. The security at this place is unbelievable, not intrusive but thorough. Awesome place to grab a drink and see a concert!

This place is beyond cool. The epitomy of a southern concert venue. Security is polite but not there to play around. People at the door are beyond accommodating whenever possible. Bartenders are simply amazing. This matters because IT'S A CONCERT VENUE WITH A FULL BAR WITH DRINKS STARTING AT $6!!! I'll def be going back the next time my Alabama appetite craves live music

Always a great place with great service and they do their best to serve even when short handed .. If you are from other States or just not local and in town you should stop and try their food it's always good and they always have great national acts performing along with regional artist
I can't say enough for Iron City. Parked within a block, bought a very affordable ticket at the door, and had the time of my life. Thanks to the combined effort of Iron City and Hippie Sabotage, I got front row, crowd surfed for the first time, partied on stage with the artist, got a free shirt (pictured), and met the band (pictured). The security and staff there were very effective but only in the most polite way. Whether it be will call or security, I was met with smiling faces, ready to help make my experience the best it could be. A lot of the experience at a concert is what you make of it, but Iron City does their job promoting your enjoyment in every way possible. From location to lineup to facilities, Iron City has everything you could want and more.
Had my senior prom here and the venue is super cool! Not very big so you get to enjoy the action on stage from almost everywhere you go!
Not much to say about a bar, other than the drinks were good and fair priced. It's not a big venue when a concert is going on but still very nice
Live in UK and staying in Birmingham on business. Iron City is a great place to eat and drink. Helpful staff. Cannot recommend highly enough. Bar lady even organised a haircut for me!
Michelle Langdon and her team at The Grill at Iron City helped us pull off my wife's surprise 40th birthday party in February 2019. Such a cool venue with a very proffesional and super nice staff. Will definitely continue to attend events here and use for more private events in the future. If you're thinking about hosting an event in the city, give Michelle a call and I know you'll be taken great care of. Great folks and great place!

Good concert experience with great views of the stage from anywhere on the floor. Didn't eat or drink so can't comment. Audio was good with clarity throughout. Wouldn't hesitate to see a show here again.
I thought some of the reviews on other sites were coming from the competition but honestly, the bartenders here are snooty and lackadaisical. I went to buy a ticket for an upcoming concert and nobody answered the door! The bartenders just stood there and ignored me. I bet they aren't any better serving drinks. I flipped them the bird and left.
I came in with friends to see Citizen Cope. We met early and ate at the grill side beforehand. The buffalo cauliflower was so good! And of course, so was the show! My friend had a fever and really shouldn't have come out. She ended up in her car most of the show, but the bartenders couldn't have been nicer about me taking her water and even one had ibuprofen for me to give to her. Thanks for the great experience again!

This is my absolute favorite venue in Birmingham. They pull in some very good artists, some well established and others trying to get their name out. If you want an intimate setting with good sound I highly recommend Iron City. In several venues the sound can get obtrusive due to several factors; acoustics of the facility and the sound board operator not knowing how to account for this is usually the case. Never once at iron city have I felt the need to put ear plugs in. There is upstairs seating but you need to get there early or pay ahead for those. The restaurant attached to the venue is very good, but a little on the pricy side. I highly recommend getting there early enough to eat a meal, have some drinks and grab an upstairs seat if you're not in the mood for standing.

This place is a gem. The staff are friendly and always willing to engage and answer questions. The venue is clean. It has this classic look to it. The best part is the sound. I've seen numorous acts here and the sound quality has been the best I've ever heard; think the depth of an arena but the crisp clarity of a chapel. Can't wait for my next visit.
I WILL NEVBER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!! I CALLED IN MY ORDER FOR SOME BUFFALO WINGS AND ONCE I GOT THERE TO PICK UP MY ORDER THEY TOLD ME THEY DONT SELL WINGS ANYMORE. I WALKED FIVE BLOCKS TO GET MY FOOD. THEY DIDN'T EVEN OFFER ME ANYTHING FOR THE TROUBLES.

The venue is great but parking can be at a premium. Never again will I park at the LIV parking facility at 5th ave 22nd street. I have always used this lot and the last two times I had trouble with the parking collection. Last night I finally got the machine to take cash but it would not give me a receipt and my truck was towed which cost me an additional 166.00. Parking Enforcement Systems, Inc. is a scam and they are laying wait to snatch your vehicle. I would skip and event if I had no other place to park.
Amazing venue. Small enough to feel like an intimate performance, big enough to not feel trapped by the crowd.

I took my kids there to see Chevelle this past week, and was blown away, not only by the band, but by the service at Iron City. From the bartender in the VIP section, to the bouncer there, the folks at the front desk, everyone went out of their way to make sure that we had a great time, and that my kids, who are 5 and 8, were well taken care of and safe. Simply the very best place to see a small venue show, especially if you have kids with you.
Fantastic venue for concerts!! I can't speak to to quality of the bar, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better place to go to a concert. I've seen Mutemath, Judah & The Lion, Twenty One Pilots, Switchfoot, and Relient K. It's a smallish place with a cap of, I would say, about 2000. There's standing room only, unless you reserve a table, which can be a bit more expensive. The security is very thorough, the staff of professional, the sound equipment is really good, and the sound engineers are great! Overall, even if you're not going to see a band that you care about, it's a wonderful experience. There is also a restaurant side of Iron City, but I have not personally visited it. (Update: I've now visited the restaurant side and can confirm that it is every bit as great as the concert side. There's a really awesome array of monitors that are great for watching the game [football or soccer]. I seriously love this place.)
