Iron City Bham Review

I love this place. The sound is always spot on, and they probably have the best selection of beers of any venue in the state of Alabama. Never oversold and uncomfortable, and great stage views no matter where you are. GO SEE LIVE MUSIC HERE.

This venue has been stringing me (& everyone else from the looks of their social media pages) along with promises to refund tickets to a cancelled (not rescheduled) show since May. There is absolutely no transparency, communication, or professionalism. Be forewarned that when you purchase tickets to this venue (not through Ticketmaster or LiveNation), your only recourse is to dispute via your credit card company. I will never patronize this establishment again. To hold onto peoples money, many who are out of work or struggling during this pandemic, is not only bad business, it's immoral.

Great place to see a show. Friendly bar staff with quick service. Wide variety of entertainment.

venue is great, bar is terrible. $9 for 1/2 oz of Jameson. Our "vip" tickets came with a free premium drink that had to be chosen from a list of not so premium choices. Not impressed with them at all in this aspect.

It is an awesome venue with great bartenders and staff love being able to sit on the patio and drink a drink!

An intimate venue that showcases some of the best in music, from the past and the present. Also, the food menu changes with the seasons. It is always delicious and from local farmers.

This a great venue. We saw city and colour at a sold out concert. The owner came by and found us a table. The sound was great and the staff seemed like they really tried to please and appreciated us.

Always packed and always a blast. The bartenders will get with you shortly, they are busy as heck!

Terrific venue with some of the friendliest employees. We loved the different options from where to view a show, depending how close you want to be & if you want to sit down or stand up. We had never been here before and Melissa & Megan were so nice describing which we way we should head for our best vantage point. We're short, 5'1, so a little planning is necessary. Had a few drinks in the bar before the show and Tyler (bartender) was fantastic & funny. Great security, check bags & pat down. Peace of mind!! Shocking how some venues do nothing but check ID & slap an arm bracelet on you. Love Iron City & hope to return!

I actually went to see Jelly Roll @Iron City last night 3/7/20 & it was the first time I've been there and it was a awesome experience even though it was completely packed sold out show! They have a great bar & super nice bartenders even if your not a drinker they still have soda products.. the security was really friendly and they kept trouble from starting so it makes you feel safe.. The stage was so close that you could touch Them on it! It was standing room only & they are handicapped accessible also.. All in all it was one of the best concerts I've been to in a very long time and there prices are nearly impossible to beat! There was a smoking section for us smokers that was easily accessible but it definitely needs more bathrooms & even a small bar upstairs would set it off! Can't complain really coz I had a awesome time and will go back again! Thanks Iron City for a spectacular show!

Very nice venue with good sightlines and excellent sound. Able to attract some interesting national acts that can be hard to find elsewhere.

Great music venue! We ve seen Chris Stapleton, Willie Nelson, Gregg Allman, and Punch Brothers at Iron City, not to mention some great cover bands. Rumors is my favorite. Food is really good too. Great place for a show!

This was the last time I will ever visit Iron City. We went to see Morgan Wallen tonight and the security grabbed my sister and threw her outside (in the freezing cold without a jacket). She was doing absolutely nothing wrong. Security said she had washed her x s off her hands even though they were still clearly there. They had faded some, but still very visible, even after she had washed her hands in the bathroom. She also still had her white bracelet on & you could tell is hadn t been tampered with. I guess the bracelet in tact meant nothing. The security would not even let her come get me, or allowed to wait inside until I was able to find her. Again, an under age girl on the street with no jacket or way to come get me. This was extremely harsh!! My husband and I had to leave (once we realized what had happened) because of your inconsiderate policy of guilty before proven innocent . My husband is a gulf war veteran and a local business owner & yet his word meant nothing to the police officers there! They said they were just enforcing Iron City s policy. We have never even allowed my sister to drink underage in the privacy of our own home, let alone out in public. Nor does she have any ambition to do so. I mean, she was basically snatched like a criminal as we were returning from the bathroom. We didn t even get to hear Morgan Waller s first song, which is the whole reason we came there in the first place. We are extremely disappointed in the way we were treated tonight, and plan to never return there. Shame on you Iron City for stereotyping young adults who sincerely did nothing wrong!!!

The venue is wonderful. Their food never disappoints and Tom Jones has still got it!!!!

I've been here a couple times. The last time was a listening party for Demi Lovato. Doors were to open at 3. We had to stand in the smothering Alabama summer heat for until after 330, this is after arriving already at 2!!! When we get inside we stood waiting for another two and a half hours!!! Come to find out she was still on a plane!!!! They only reason I can't complain too much is because it was a free first come first served event! But this was unacceptable, still! And Demi is no Taylor Swift to have people waiting in such a horrendous fashion!!

Great venue for live music. Could have used one more bartender for a crowded show.

Great venue and the food is so good. Sweet potato hummus is my favorite.

The Grill is a fine restaurant with many options and with unique variety. While it was all very well cooked some of the favors were too contrasting and detracted from or eliminated the complementary flavors. I enjoyed my meal, and I really enjoyed the venue. They support all local foods, beverages, gulf seafood, etc. Everything was very reasonable and the quality was excellent.

Food in the restaurant was good, the only downside is you have to stand the whole time at the concerts.

Bone concert was jumping and it's a lot bigger than it looks from outside

If I could rate lower I would. Staff was horrible. Security chick with a pixie cut told me I had to leave because the thin paper wristband they gave me had fallen off by the time the headliner hit the stage. She did not even offer to replace it. Im not sure if she had an authority complex or was just having a bad night, but when she forced me to leave, it ruined my night and wasted my time.

TL;DR I came to listen to one specific band, was kicked out when they came on because cheap paper wristband fell off.

Great venue, well laid out with good flow. Bartenders are somehow fast AND friendly, I didn't know that was possible! Great room for shows, I'll definitely be back!

Great show, great sound and very good food. I am here for War Jacket and Josh Garrels show tonight. I love this place. The only problem was it has got to be 40 degrees where I m sitting. We ve moved three times to try to escape the artic blast and can t seem to find a reasonable place to sit. How hard can it be to control the freaking temp in this place??

Honestly this is such an amazing venue. It's never overly crowded it's always clean and it is just very aesthetically pleasing in generally. Went to see Arlie and Coin and where they put the merch worked so much better this time.

Escorted out 10 minutes after the band ended..bar closed..not really a night club...show was good but not a friendly hang out type place

The best venue in Birmingham! We love coming here for concerts. The staff is friendly and the drinks are good.

Terrible venue. Staff is extremely rude. They forced me to buy extra tickets and then refused to give me a refund. I will avoid at all costs.

The perfect venue for my sister's wedding. Everything was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the staff was amazing.

Saw Awolnation, Irontom, and Family of the Year and I have to say that all of the staff were amazing. Not only were the staff very accommodating but super friendly to myself, my husband and our 13 year old son. Will definitely return in the future. Thank you all.

Great venue to see a band.. And oddly enough, that one single bar on the main floor seems to be able to handle a large crowd with reasonable wait time for drinks. Very impressed with the responsiveness of the bartenders.

My first experience here was during the DNC Pitch Party in the summer of 2014. I thought that it was a cool venue; something unique for the city. I'm not into the concert scene for real, but I figured for those that were, Iron City was what they were looking for.

This past week, my date and I decided to watch the Alabama vs. Michigan St. game here. Upon arriving, the place was packed with eager fans and NYE revelers. The hostess couldn't tell us when a table would be ready, but took our cell phone numbers to call us when one became available. We decided to get a couple of drinks from the bar and stand around until we were called for a table. However, seats became available so we sat down . I ordered the orange creamsicle and my date ordered the blueberry lemonade. We both agreed that the drinks were fabulous . My orange creamsicle tasted just like an old school orange creamsicle Popsicle. I couldn't taste the alcohol in it...which was great for me because I'm not much of a drinker.

Food wise, I ordered the club without tomatoes. My date ordered the hot wings. We split a plate of house made Bistro fries ( fresh cut fries topped with garlic and Parmesan). My date said the wings were some of the best he had ever eaten. He said they were smoked and seasoned to perfection. I was satisfied with my club sandwich, and the fries were very well prepared, crunchy and the toppings added a special yummy uniqueness.

The place was electrified with Tide fans. We were called within 12 minutes for our table. But we opted for staying at the bar. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Iron City and we will return in the future.

Excellent location and space. Having only one bar makes getting a drink difficult. Also the upper level is not fully connected so you have to walk down stairs, across the venue and up another set of stairs to get to the other part of the upper level. The bartenders are helpful, polite, and make excellent cocktails.

Needed a high chair for our 1 year old but they only had a couple. After waiting an hour for the next available high chair, another family comes in, sits right behind us and the staff brings them a high chair right over. Just wanted to say thanks again for that.

Super fun concert venue! And the restaurant is awesome.

Parking is a bit of a pain, but the food is worth it.
