Room locations were sub-par. Service was good. Pricey...
Took 20 mins waiting at reception to check in with only one person at the checkin desk. Shower had someone s hairs in it when I first got into the room. They don t replenish the supplies in the bathroom (even on a four day stay). The phone didn t work so tonirder room service I had to use my mobile to call the hotel reservation line and have them to me through to the hotel and then to room service. I paid for dry cleaning and specifically requested items to NOT be starched and for the clothes to be folded. They came back un-dry cleaned, pressed only, starched and on a hanger. It s really not difficult when you have a form in front of you to know what to do but they managed to get it wrong. Not only did they fail to impress but they actively screwed up time after time. Then when I call to speak to someone I keep getting put through to voicemail, no one calls me back. I ve stayed in tents that are better serviced.
If you have the budget, this is the place to stay at in NYC. Centrally located and such a great experience. The staff is super professional and they also have an amazing gin bar. I've never seen so many choices of a single alcohol in my life. This is a place everyone should stay in at least once in their life.

This Hotel is iconic for its service and convenience. My stay here was perfect. I had no issues or complaints. They offered me a late checkout and it really helped my day.

No smoking? Not really. Nice hotel except for the pervasive odor of smoke. Squishy, overly soft mattress was terrible for my back. Not worth the money.

Just arrived from England....very tired...was warmly greeted at check in by Peter...gave us complimentary drinks to welcome us to New York....so far...so good!....cheers Peter!!!.....on return from our fab tour of empire state building a bottle of red wine was waiting for us plus strawberries dipped in chocolate!...it was my son's birthday...what a fab gesture....totally made a great ending to our day!....room's very clean...comfy bed...high end bedding...all in all Barclays enhanced our stay in new York...thanx guys n keep up the great work!....
The hotel's location was perfect for me as it was only 3 blocks from 51st street subway plus the bed was comfortable as I usually always have achy back in the morning when not sleeping on my own mattress.
/ Spanish There are always problems with breakfast. Very small space and you have to wait for a table. Please, I'm not in a 3 *** Michelin restaurant to wait for a table. Paying almost $ 100 for breakfast, do you have to wait ?!

When we booked a hotel, the hotel information was: room with a view. They have given us in the corner without views. We also have since we want a bathtub. But upon entering we find ourselves showering. The girl told us that there are no rooms with a bathtub in the whole hotel. So why put false information on booking?
Air conditioning in hotel is horrible, always at night I dry my nose and my husband - throat.

Nicely remodeled, room was very comfortable and the bed linens and pillows were luxurious. One of my new goto places in NYC.
Not your typical 5 star international hotel. Even the basics are a step above, with there own unique twists to be enjoyed.

This would be our 7th Intercon. Intercontinental Barclay didn't disappoint. We are Ambassor members, so we got a complimentary room upgrade. Our guestroom was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hotel was near a lot of great bars and restaurants which was important to us.
Nice lobby. Friendly bar staff. Updated bathroom. Clean room.

Found hair on blanket..... Dirty room .We wanted to use the sauna room, but we were asked to turn the sauna room power ourself. Service???? Hum.
Superior lobby . Elegant and spacious. Staff very friendly and welcoming . Food is tasty and there is excellent service for events and conferences. Enough space for even weddings. Highly recommended
A lovely hotel with beautiful rooms and views. It s a great central location in the city. The service was just okay, I felt they were slightly understaffed considering there was a conference being held in the hotel.

Stay for one night and got a king size standard room. The room was clean room and the was very comfy. Very nice looking modern bathroom with a walk in shower. Also has In room Keurig machine with free coffee and green tea! Didn't like how the room is bit on the smaller side- even smaller than the Time Square location.
Didn't liked the fact that the front desk personnel did not noticed my reservation request on how I wanted to change to a double bed room.
There is no answer when asking the reason for the additional charge of $ 300.
I booked a high-grade room with a bathtub, but it was a room with a bad view with a view of the back alley without a bathtub.
Only the location is good.
Great rooms , great service, they dont provide water to their guests unless if you're willing to pay 14 bucks for a small bottle.

Hotel itself is lovely and well located, however the staff were quite unhelpful and thought the buffet breakfast was overpriced.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. I called twice before I came And was assured both times that my room was ready for 7:30 AM check in. To cut a long story short I didn t check in until 11:00 AM. The staff are rude but the rooms and the hotel overall are gorgeous and extremely comfortable.

Booked into hotel 24 October. Hotel took a hold of approx $ 560 and I am finding it impossible to have that amount put back on my credit card even though my bill of check out was zero. Rang hotel and was assured it would be credited back. 4 weeks later it still hasn't. Emailed hotel last week and still no response. Will never visit this hotel again. This hotel is not only beautiful indoors, but it's in a great part of the city. It's close to public transportation or within walking distance of tons of things to see and do. Highly recommended!

The restaurant and bar is the weakest part of this hotel. They are not concerned about feeding their guests. For a city that never sleeps, their food and beverage is taking a nap from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Nice Interconti Hotel in Midtown. From here you can perfectly explore the city on foot or by metro.
The service was very nice during our stay. There was an error with our prepaid voucher at first, but it was fixed in a friendly and professional manner, the only downer: the money that was falsely blocked was only released after 30 days, but the hotel couldn't help it.
The lobby itself is beautifully designed and the room was pleasantly furnished and in good condition. The bed was very comfortable and everything including the bathroom was very clean and cleaned very well every day. Nice amenities, which were also replenished daily.
Our room on the 9th floor faced Lexington Avenue, so it was relatively noisy, even with the window closed. The Keurig coffee and tea machine is great.
The concierge service is very friendly and has lots of great tips and assistance for tourists and visitors.
Opposite the hotel is a 24-hour supermarket with a good range of products at any time of day.
If you can get a good price this hotel is perfect for tourists and business people.
Total disappointment. This property does Intercontinental no favors.. We had a deluxe king room with one very dirty, not double glazed window looking onto a black, dark office block. The room itself and the corridors have been nicely refurbished but that is it. Breakfast was $50 each and was a very basic buffet. Go to the lovely Danish cafe on the hotel corner!
No decent restaurant and a basic reception bar.
We had several issues with staff being argumentative and not really interested in customer service. Both evenings we were there, a full on street fight was going on outside and the porters and security staff did nothing to try calm down the situation.. We felt like we were staying a three star motel most of the time.
The hotel has a very premium look to it. I have only seen the lobby and it looked very upscale, which to me is a sign of high quality service.

Very poor management.
At first, I've called the management a few days before checking in. I told them that I have a tax exemption and we would use it. They said that it should be OK, so the tax will be removed when checking in. I also said that I would like to pay the balance fully upon checking in instead of taking many authorizations as it takes almost a month until it gets back to my account. They said that will be fine aswell; and there will be either a minimal deposit or no deposit. When I arrived, it was like I never talked to them before. This meant that they were just saying yes to whatever request I asked for and never really took it into consideration. It was like saying yes to a kid but never really doing anything. When i checked in, they said that the tax exemption had to go through the account office and they would reply by the next morning(because we arrived at like 9 pm to the hotel). Actually, it took them more than 3 days and even in the 3rd day I went to the office and kept talking to them more than an hour standing until they finally released the taxes after they held it. In addition, upon checking in they said they would only take deposit a room night and 100$(I told them that you said on the phone that there will be less than 200$ deposit only but they still ignored me). Actually, it was another lie like all other lies they used to say. They kept charging my card until it went out of balance. they took like almost a 1000$ deposit which even affected my budget. I would lie if I would say I will ever come back at this hotel as they really made me stressed and affected most of my plans. I wouldn't even write this much if it wasn't that serious.
I hope I could hear something that would satisfy me from higher management as I don't think InterContinental Main Office would be happy from what happened.
