Very nice rooms in a very good location. The only issue I had was that I was not able to check in early. I had arrived at 11am, and was hoping to check in early to be able to get ready for my friend s wedding and to catch some zzzz before the big night. I found it hard to believe that none of the 191 rooms were not checked out early. Was only able to check in at 2pm. Bummer.

I did not have the opportunity to book a room there, just to have a drink or a tea or to have dinner on the terrace-bar of the hotel which dominates part of the Old Port ... That's all simply magical! A dream Marseille! Flawless professionalism of all staff. A faultless all along the line! Bravo

This is more of a full hotel review. Oh my god, the view of Basilica Notre Dame of the Garde is worth just visiting the hotel. The staff felt a little dry in English, but energized in french -- I attribute that to being a foreigner, as many of the other guests seemed to speak fluent French. The pool was wonderful, albeit hard to find (hint, it is located inside the Clarins spa). The waterfall and jets are a nice touch. I didn't get to experience the spa treatment, so i cannot comment on that. I had no problems with the restaurant or bar. My old fashion was served promptly, and the wine was courteously handled. The food was exceptional, and the service attentive. It was French service, so expect some waits. The largest surprise of the restaurant was the kids' menu: It was perfect. The staff even suggested ordering my son's meal first, to accommodate his lack of patience when he is hungry. The kids meal was on par with the adult menu, and he loved the desserts. It was wonderful to find something so kid friendly in such an upscale dining experience. The room is spacious and large. It appears to be a well done renovation. The bathroom is awesome. Overall, if you have a reason to visit Marseille, I recommend the Intercontinental. If you don't need a hotel, I would still recommend the restaurant attached.

Fantastique!

Fantastique!

One of THE Intercontinental hotels iN Europe.
Welcoming, caring staff from the doormen, porters to the front desk team and bar chef Xavier. Must-experience spa, too! Treat yourself to a room with a terrace and harbor view if you stay for a bit.

4 stars for the quality of the restoration. Lunch on the terrace with a beautiful view of Marseille. On the other hand the service was mediocre: amateurs unworthy to serve in a hotel of this level. I did not try the hotel.

One of my favourite buildings in Marseille. The building has been developed and transformed over the past 800 years with the latest transformation occuring in the late 19th century. The Intercontinental is situated in the perfect location - up on a hill overlooking the Hotel de Ville (Town Hall), Notre Dame de La Garde and the old port. The luxury hotel sits infront of the popular and must see Panier district and the Vieux Port. Prices are hefty but with the terrace, architecture and view even a 10 euro espresso seems worth it!

A very nice aperitif with a view of the old port, we will come back to test the rest ..
Back 6 months later, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the reception is classic, the concierge very efficient. Take an aperitif on the terrace in the evening at the sound of beautiful ways is a beautiful moment that accompanies the view of the good mother. A small flat, the rooms with views of the old port are expensive. As for the breakfast staff is considerate and available and well ... It is a rich breakfast good and complete at the height of the establishment. A nice step that still has a cost

The hotel is beautiful. The room is very comfortable and spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. This hotel looks and makes me feel like I'm staying in a palace. However, access to the hotel is not as easy. There are very lengthy stairs to reach the hotel.

I spent Christmas Eve it was a mistake we were very badly received very bad service a shame for an establishment like this the breakfast in the morning I dare not talk about it so much that we were served worse that if we were in third world countries we will serve coffee without spoons it is not very serious it is especially to remake the coffee in the same cup under the pretext that the dive was far away and I pass on the unpleasant waitresses in the morning

What a desappointment ! We were in a seminar with all the staff and the President for 1 day. A service disaster: we didn't have what we ordered, no key to get in and out of the meeting room, unable to get a key (I still don't know why they wouldn't let me key), room not erected between noon and two, we did not have what we ordered (and paid) in the afternoon (coffee, pastries, etc.). We had to punch our table 3 or 4 times for the hotel to consider us and deign to serve us what we paid for. The room was very well equipped, the location magnificent, the hotel splendid but the rest was disastrous. Not to the extent of a 5 star anyway!

We like this place a lot but the major downside is the lack of parking !!!
There is a valet parking but he refuses to take your car if you come only for the bar !!!
So we got 4 people pointed out on Sunday at noon for ONLY a few cocktails!

Splendid building, former "Hotel Dieu" reconverted into luxury hotel, which allowed a superb restoration. Beautifully located overlooking the Old Port and the doorstep of the old pitoresque district of the Panier.

beautiful setting, nice brunch. A success as well at the level room and restaurant. Only downside, the hygiene in the room was not worthy of a five star. Lack can be training at the level of the room team.
