Service was good. Hotel staff were very efficient. The room looks like it's been upgraded in the last few years, but the bathroom does need some major improvements. The door to the shower shower in our room was broken, hence everytime we showered, it would flood the floors. The room doors were not so "sound-proof". We had a few noisy neighbours that were mucking around outside the room at freaking 2am and that definitely woke us up. Everytime some noisy people walked past, we could hear them clearly.
The steam bath was out of service and the indoor pool area definitely needed some upgrading work and maybe a bit more in terms of hygiene care. But overall, our stay despite some minor glitches, was satisfactory. The hotel is located in a ver central area with loads of restaurants and nightlife. And it's quite convenient to get around from St Julian's.

Superb hotel, perfect welcome and very clean rooms.
Only one negative point in the bathroom, the water in the shower which varied too much between hot and cold without remaining stable. This point was addressed during the Check out.

Attended a conference there. We'll organised and efficient.

two-sided hotel. a non-renovated part of which the rooms would need a serious fresh shots. a part redone (including the luxury suite) very nice. the latter gave access to the lounge and the second pool much quieter.
in any case super personal and service recess. to note in the tower above the home a regular compressor noise even air-conditioning. in the other building avoid the street view.

Hotel in the center of the quarter, surrounded by nightclubs and pubs. For lovers of nightlife.

A high standard hotel, good food (I was at breakfast), comfortable rooms and everything you would expect from a hotel of this size.

Unfriendly stuff. But amazing location and decoration.

Good service, especially big thanks to Moises Naddord in the Kitchen who helped us washing baby feeders during our stay in the hotel.

It is a good hotel, and the hotel functionaries are kind and nice with guest. I recommend it.

I was there for the first year the food is good but not excellent, the desserts are fantastic, the staff is prepared and attentive. Prices are average for the category

For a 5 star there should be more people who speak other languages than English ....

We absolutely love this hotel !! 5th time back this year with my family. Hotel staff are very friendly & accommodating. Any issues they re on it ! The rooms are spacious and big enough for a family of 4 - 1x double and 2 x ( Z - beds )
The outside pool area is brilliant for all ages, with a nice outside grill area for food ( served from 12 ) very accommodating if you wish to change something from the menu The only downside I have is smoking is allowed around by the pool / obviously for a non smoker with kids I believe there should be a smoking area? There were a few complaints which I believe is being reviewed by the hotel at the end of the season??
There is a restaurant called ( Paranga ) which is by the beach. Its only for guests staying at the Continental & it s amazing!! The staff are super friendly and very helpful & the food is outstanding! Well worth a visit

Had a few hiccups early but were sorted out. Great service, great room and friendly staff. We loved our junior suite and access to the club. Also the top floor pool party was super fun!

Beautiful hotel, nice staff and clean rooms ... what more could you want? Excellent accommodation to visit Malta, very well connected with the whole island. In the hotel you can book taxis or buses, a really good service.

Good location but room is a bit lack of maintenance. Called to service desk to fix the bedside lamp for twice, still no one fixed it. A bit disappointed for this intercontinental hotel.

Hotel is very well located, in the center of the nightlife of Valletta / StJulians, on the seafront, with private beach, restaurant with award winning chefs (the food is absolutely divine !!!), another front for bowling, cinema, bars / restaurants and Shopping Center. Very comfortable and spacious rooms, friendly and available staff, indoor pool and spa; if they take children, they receive a personalized letter and a Playmobil gift with an invitation to the Factory.

Nice hotel, good service! Lot of rooms, go early to the beach or pool to get your space.

Hotel excellent in all respects. Difficult to find something wrong with hospitality, services, rooms and restaurants. Ample space for guests, casino, large and equipped gym, wellness center and swimming pools (indoor and on the terrace), bar, staff always attentive to customer needs.

So me and my brother from germany travelled here for one week holiday after a having a stressful time at our publishing house. In the beginning we thought the hotel was quite nice but on the second look we realized that this is a false friend. The room is not very clean, especially the bathroom and balcony, the Rooftop Pool is only available on extra charge of 50 , the view is obstructed by cranes and the lower pool is crowded, loud and the loungers are very bad and old.

I have an emergency. Told doctor will come, wait in room. Waited 1.5 hours, no doctor. Hotel sent doctor away. In pain and now angry.

We waited until 16.15 for the room. Price 1250 zloty for a familly room completely inadequate to quality. Old and unrevurbed rooms. On plaster balconies like in * / **.

Beautiful hotel with a huge gym! Indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Large room, ... In short to recommend.

I have really enjoyed my stay at the Intercontinental Malta. I was here on a short business trip and as such I did not have the opportunity to take full advantage of all of the Hotel facilities (swimming pools, lounge bar, etc), even so my overall experience was very good.
The rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated. The view from SkyBeach / SkyLounge is great. The Balinese massage at the SPA was excellent.
But what really impressed me was the customer service. The attentiveness at check-in / checkout. Asking for feedback and offering concrete solutions to even minor complaints. Going beyond the simple answer and trying to find solutions: I stepped into the lobby bar for lunch. They don t open until 12:30, which does not work for me as I have a 12:45 pick-up. After a couple of phone calls, I am accompanied to the SkyBeach bar, where attentive staff is taking care of me.
I want to compliment the staff and certainly recommend this Hotel.

Many services, not very expensive but it all looks a bit old.

Lovely and helpful staff. The hotel is a little past (old-fashioned carpets and not always clean, modern room but not in great condition (broken furniture, bathroom blackened joints ...) Breakfast is good if you ask a coffee percolator otherwise the cafe is bad! The restaurant is really average it is better to go out.The private beach is not far and nice with sunbeds attention thick sand and gravel.By the environment around the hotel is frankly not top qq shops (expensive) and bars, bars, bars ... short the location is not great to walk around or come with your family.

Not bad, but cleaning in detail is not ok most to the pool and other places.
On 19 floor restaurant, they are not really friendly.

Not bad, but cleanliness is required and the friendliness of the restaurant on the 19th floor is not at home here.

Quite rooms and very clean however water pressure in the rooms can be better.

Only stayed for a few days but everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

Intercontinental Malta

We've had a succession of problems both minor and major during our stay at the Intercontinental Malta, but before I get to though you must also note that this hotel is going through a major four storey extension on the roof which is noisy, if you get unlucky with room placement you will have the music of construction during your stay.

We have a degree of sympathy on this front, hard for the staff to do a lot about this, however we had a series of other major problems which began on our arrival,to summarise in chronological order

1) On arrival our room was not ready at check in time (1500), we were escorted by reception staff to wait in the bar, we were each given an odd coke like soft drink (nothing else) and we sat there for an hour before another visit to reception produced a room key. Manager overheard insisting 'no alcohol!' to our escort as we were dropped off in the bar for our one hour wait.

2) Room in a completely unacceptable state of repair for a hotel of this standard. Very very strong smell of water damage/damp, the local ants however quite liked it apparently! Even enough to nest and run an ant superhighway in the side skirting board. The mouldy smell was strong enough to make us want to depart immediately, hard to rest here.

3) After complaint, they used a dehumidifier which improved things somewhat, was still pretty bad though so we asked to move. Informed hotel too busy but they would move us on the third day of our stay to new accom, an upgrade. Invited to pack our bags as we left that morning so on our return we would be already moved into new digs.

4) Random phone call to the room next morning 0630 approx for two rings. Unknown reason, didn't get to it in time but enough to wake us up.

5) Returned to the hotel after our day out, found our kit had not been moved. But we got our room after a short delay and explaining the problem again, and it was much improved, no damp, no ants, much nicer view (previous room had a huge crane in the window, see photos).

6) Fire alarm on first night in our new room, 0230hrs approx. Very loud piercing shriek, probably woke most of the hotel as well as us. Panicked maintenance man arrived after a few minutes and pulled the alarm apart, turning it off. No explanation for this event given, all we can surmise is its a technical fault perhaps related to all the ongoing construction, its possible the damp/water damage is related to this also but this is speculation.

7) Fire alarm again on Monday morning, only one short blast, approx 0845hrs. (Possible this was a weekly test, but why 0845?) Suffice to say on our first four nights we didn't get a lot of uninterrupted sleep.

8) Monday AM customer service kicks in, asked if our new room was okay to which we replied in the affirmative. Invited to go for a customer service interview, this has yet to take place as when I approached the hotel for this face to face the person has been unavailable, our stay is now coming to an end so we presume that is that.

Overall it must be said its been nowhere near a five star experience here, very disappointing. While the hotel clearly has staff on the books whom are trying and responding to complaints we really cant look past the fundamental issues we've experienced. We aren't common complainers but on this occasion it really was bad enough to do so. We would recommend looking hard at the numerous alternatives for five star options in Malta before booking the Intercontinental.

Excellent staff, great staff beautiful hotel gardens.

During the inspection we detected and reported some deficiencies that are in the process of being resolved. Otherwise it is a very interesting hotel, in the middle of the night bustle of St Julians and opposite a shopping center, a few steps from the small beach of St George. Included in the price of accommodation: outdoor and indoor pool as well as a huge gym, saunas, Turkish bath and nursery, among other services.

Particular details are the valet parking service for 10 euros a night, the Spanish-speaking staff, the special amenities for babies or the availability and speed of the elevators.

The place needs some renovation. The plastering in the room is starting to fall off. The water temperature in shower was changing constantly which was quite annoying and there was some leakage in bathroom from shower so that whole floor got wet. Otherwise the location is in the center of tourist entertainment block. Breakfest was standard "continental" type with option of fresh made omlets or panckakes by chef, (even so I would prefer chef using some kitchen tools to treat pancakes instead of his hands). The restaurant downstares does not qualify for the level of hotel - cheap interior, plastic chairs below average food.

Overall the place is somewhat below the expected value for the money they are charging.

Writing this review 9 months late! But this is a hotel very worthy of a 5* review from us! We loved our stay at the Intercontinental in Malta. The hotel was in a party-ish area, so if you aren't into that then avoid walking around the area at night! The food, staff and cleanliness of the hotel were all great. Waterbiscuit was nice for dinner, and room service was also efficient and of a high standard!

Amazing stay. The casino was cool as well :D no really. Clean place, friendly staff and a lot to do. I would recommend even if the price is out of range for some of you, if you get the chance, have a stay

Lovely afternoon tea in the Club Intercontinental lounge served between 1430 and 1630. Breakfast is between 0630 and 1100 and pre dinner drinks between 1730 and 1930. Good location and a shopping area opposite the hotel with alternative eating areas. Indoor and outdoor (seasonal) swimming pools with a good range of gymnasium equipment. Also steam room and sauna within the leisure areas. Staff all very friendly.

Good hotel. Breakfast buffet is good, but the state of the bathrooms and the absence of air conditioning makes the rating arguable. Luckily the wifi worked well everywhere, including the bedrooms.

Central location - near the nightlife center, shopping centers and hard rock and a particularly stunning private beach!
And the services that the hotel offers are so pampering, the rooms, the beds, the food - what not !!!

The lounge.
Go up to the 15th floor and meet the manager and staff, courteous, dedicated, very professional and very special.
The staff is always attentive and takes care of every guest, the atmosphere in the lounge is very special and pleasant. The lounge is always clean and tidy and the food is delicious!
The staff explains every day where you can walk and what you can do and everything with professionalism, patience and efficiency.
And above all wins Mr. Hotel Manager Mr. Lior Bebera a true professional, a very special person is present anytime and anywhere.
He takes care of every guest in the hotel as if he is his personal guest and everything is courtesy of professionalism and patience and deserves a great deal of appreciation.
So thanks again for everything. We will return again and again to be hosted.

Expensive for a hotel say 5 stars I give it barely 3 humidity in the rooms sliding door that overlooks the balcony that does not close and I pass frankly 210 euros per night for me this hotel is to be avoided

Great hotel, very friendly staff. Facilities are good, with steam room and sauna but you need to add a jacuzzi! Gym is one if the best I have used on the Island and sausages or the tastiest I've had... Proper pork. Parts of the hotel could do with a lick of paint but overall a very pleasant visit.

Good location right in town...pool and service is good. Breakfast is good and offers a buffet ....lots of choices and flavors...needed to chase down the coffee server for the second cup but other than that...nice place...

***** - Hotel in the middle of the lively St. Julian and Nahe by the sea. The hotel complex is very spacious and offers different room types from classic double rooms to suites. Some rooms offer lounge access with snacks and drinks as well as personal check-in and service. Staff everywhere very friendly, attentive and courteous. The fact that the room service comes by in the evening, asks if everything is okay and leaves two bars of chocolate, was impressive. Large and tasty selection at breakfast; some dishes on request. Special requests were implemented quickly.
There is an outdoor and an indoor pool as well as a spa and gym. You can get towels for bathing at the pools and have them exchanged at any time.
There is also an extra section on the public beach [about two minutes' walk] with loungers, parasols and a bar for hotel guests.
The rooms were well equipped, with one bottle of water per guest; international TV program was available [also in German]. Bathroom with shower, bathtub and toiletries. Unfortunately the shower was a bit calcified.
Which is true: in some places the hotel is getting a bit old. For example, there was a draft on the balcony door.
At night, guests roared and singed several times across the hotel grounds. It took forever to finally calm down.
The whole service had its price, so there is a point deduction, but otherwise a great hotel. We will be back definitely.

Overpriced. Located in the center, but around it is quite dirty and noisy.

Brilliant rooms. Breakfast was great. Go for the fresh cooked eggs and bacon. Beds comfy. Service from the staff was superb. Worth it.

Absolute horror. My first room was musty and so bad of a maximum of two stars. The veneer of the decor was cut off and totally worn. In the bathroom the tiles were damaged, the mirror was blind and the top was the moldy sink. The second room was not much better either. Absolutely not recommended.

Great hotel with high standards and service... various in-house restaurant options but being centrally located in a busy entertainment area lots of options are available within walking distance. Might not be the best option if having little children as they might get board inside. Kids club is available but we did not use it. One downside in my opinion is the parking. The same group of companies has a parking facility few meters away (not interconnecting) but it's very very expensive!

Hotel and pool are lovely but do not get a room on the street side, ask for a garden facing room as did one night, a Friday on the street and had the worst night sleep I think I ever had in a hotel due to the noise!!!

It's sensational hotel. From the moment we stepped in at the main door, to the reception, to the lounge check-in, to the private lounge at the 15th floor and into our room. Everything has been a perfect 110% process. It's a luxurious stay the way we're taken cared of. Would definitely recommend the hotel and will book again. Six star hotel
