InterContinental Jakarta MidPlaza Review

Unfortunately some of the security or CS cannot help me to give a good and right direction when I asked them.

This is a brand new Intercontinental hotel, conveniently located in the center of Jakarta and connected to a large shopping mall. The staff is very friendly and helpful, as everywhere in Indonesia. However, two things occurred that I never experience during my 200+ hotel nights per year. Firstly, I was asked to top up my credit card halfway through the stay. Many hotels ask a credit card deposit when checking in for cash management purposes, but I have never been asked to prepay more on the credit card halfway through the stay. The hotel rescinded the request after I spoke to the manager. Nonetheless it gives Intercontinental a bad image of greedy cash management, and leaves the customer with a feeling of distrust.
Secondly, there sometimes is a wait for breakfast. It was a Sunday, so maybe outside customer guests was the issue? No, according to the restaurant staff the hotel had high occupancy and therefore there was a wait. It is difficult to understand how you can design a brand new hotel and not dimension the breakfast restaurant appropriately.
Other than this the hotel is excellent, but I will try other accommodation at my next trip in a few weeks. There are many options, and Intercontinental Hotels should keep that in mind.

Intercontinental Hotel is a newly opened and launched hotel in June 2019, but has been opened to the public starting February 2019, the place is quite luxurious because of its 5-star class and an elegant impression will be felt when it starts to enter the lobby. This hotel costs 2 million and above per night depending on the type of room and the fittings. In the lobby there is a lounge that can be used to sit down and hang out chatting while enjoying the available dishes. This hotel has advantages because it is close to one of the famous malls in Jakarta, namely Pondok Indah Mall 1, 2, and 3. And there is a direct access door from the hotel to enter the mall. The place is easily accessible by public transport, online transportation and private transportation. It is feasible to try and become a destination if you want to stay in Jakarta with direct access to a famous mall.

Not bad for upper class, not middle class. The problem is rather complicated for parking duany wheels

The food is guaranteed not to disappoint ...

Good hotel which is attached to pawn dog Damol. Breakfast is also very good.

Superb five stars city hotel in jakarta. Service from the heart, great accomodation and surrounded by a massive pondok indah mall.

The food has many choices on Sundays ... the service is friendly and the price is comparable to the quality and menu of the food ...

The parking lot and elevator are lacking ... so there is an event in some places, so troublesome ...

Five star all the way from the doorman to club concierge. Highly recommended. The hotel is attached to a mall that is okay for general shopping. The gym has a good layout with plenty of free space and good clean equipment. This is complemented with a 25m swimming pool so you will have no trouble keeping fit after all the amazing food they serve.

Floor 6 for wedding receptions and full valet groups, can park on the B2 floor

The hotel is very comfortable with complete facilities and good food

Brand new 2018 opening. Connecting to Pondok Indah Mall 2 & 1. The location is in prime southern area of Jakarta & nearby tollgate TB. Simatupang. About 25km from airport in the Northwest Jakarta & cost around Rp. 150k by grab car.

The lobby is modern style with granite stone & check in is conveniently quick. Restaurant is in 2nd floor and it's big area as well. The food choices for breakfast is plenty & taste good as it bears the name INTERCONTINENTAL IHG GROUP.


The bathroom is huge & has shower & bathup with separate door to toilet.

Hotel was nice but some security on the LG parking lot were rude.

rooms are great mall next door is also an advantage

went here for a wedding and service was great. the hotel was amazing. highly recommend!

Best place connecting mall, big room, good breakfast

Excellent hotel in southern part of Jakarta. Easy to access. Adjacent to reputable mall and office buildings.

Five star seemed like starless,bad service to cleaned the room(the room was cleaned at 3 pm) ,changing room in pool very dirty,but the food is good

Need more payment gates. Jammed and long cue to pay for parking. Attended wedding on Sunday and waited almost 30mins for our driver to come to arrive at lobby. Hotel management should check for bottelneck and solve the problem.

The point is it's comfortable ... connected to the mall ... the room is comfortable

small actually, seems like smaller than capital residence. But all great. Because connecting near to mall.

So much loved, even though I was confused about the entry, it should be from Pim 2, but it turned around hehe went back to the lobby above

Very comfortable staying in this hotel, near PIM which is really easy for you, if you wanna take a meal or watching movies. Have children environment in this hotel. Really recommended.

I am genuinely pleased by the service provided. I love the way IHG staffs recommend the best menu and assist us on my x times honeymoon retreat. Kudos to IHG team. :)

A pleasant stay was had although the dining experience was below five star quality. However, I will add the hotel staff were exlempary.

Newly built hotel. Good atmosphere and really good spot to hang out with colleagues.

The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the bathroom is also spacious, but something is lacking, for example cotton buds, and the coffee is not the brand, it should be a more premium one, the tea is also the standard, just a suggestion sis, for compliment you can also add it, for example fruit

Overall okay but the elevator is really hard to press, especially when I press covid using my elbow, but repeatedly pressed it can't be forced to use my fingers. The floor numbering writing on the elevator monitor also likes to disappear so it is often not known what floor we have reached
