Very very nice place but showing it's age. The exterior architecture is is very 1970's utilitarian but the interior has been nicely update and maintained. The pool and gym are exceptional high-quality. The beach club with it's pools, shaded beach chairs, cabanas, and swim up bar really set the InterContinental apart from similarly priced hotels in the area.
This property is over 25 years old and none can say so because it is very well maintained. The property has 19 floors, two pools, beach area, spa's and fitness centre's,tennis court, and award winning restaurants. The breakfast served is a huge spread which is very tasty and a lot of healthy and gluten free options are available, the restaurant overlooks the marina view, Mr. Awais at the restaurant was very considerate and kind.
The rooms are well maintained again with City and marina views, the bathrooms are good and toiletries the best. The best part of the property is the staff, the chief concierge Mr. Ramly who was always available for any enquiry and need and so were Mr. Mahipal and Darius. Mr. Mahesh at the reception is a very humble gentleman who considered every request of mine.
Looking forward to visiting again.

Inter Continental is one of the oldest and best 5 star hotels in Abu Dhabi, the Capital of UAE. Good services, award winning restaurants, amenities including Spa, swimming pools, beach access, a boat harbour, etc are all top notch.
I found food here always very good. Overall spacious, good free private parking including valet services available. Free WiFi available.
Room service and house keeping is top notch.

We really enjoyed our time at the InterContinental, amazing pool with a breathtaking view, Intercontinental's health club is amazing, I have the best massage ever. Professional masseurs, great gym, sauna, and steam rooms, Jacuzzi.
The bartender at the pool bar was very nice, you can enjoy your drink while sunbathing and enjoying the view.
I highly recommend it. Intercontinental hasn't aged a day. Every time the same amazing service.

Charming location, elegant and with many services. The aesthetics of the building do not do justice to the beauty of the complex. Noble entrance facing a large raised garden, a charming and welcoming hall, a large private marina for mooring boats of moderate length. Numerous catering offers, including the fantastic and unique Fishmarket genre. The only flaw is the absence of an open swimming pool and access to the sea (however reachable in 2 minutes with hotel-managed services).

Excellent stay. FYI - when you return in a taxi, the porters take down the taxi number and hand you a card with the info "just in case" - I guess just in case you forget your phone or some purchase from shopping.
Grand and beautiful. Also attached are a number of cafes and bars offering good ambience and a great time - Presseco Bar, Belgian cafe, etc! Happy hour also available at some of them to get the evening started.
Held our work end of year party at the Intercontinental for about 600people and you could barely tell. Well coordinated, good location, good parking and polite staff. Food was fresh and delicious.

Good, but also quite expensive. At the hotel, three additional taxes (in addition to the VAT of currently 5%) are added to the stated prices: Service Chr. 10%, Tourism Fee 6% and Municipal Fee of 4%. This is m.E. not appropriate; it should be called final prices.
The buffet is rather mediocre and hardly changes. Kitchen rather Arabic oriented.
Wi-Fi first rate, but only the first level is free. Attention!

The service was amazing. The intercontinental is lovely inside. Rooms and bed are comfy. I had a pleasant stay.
We booked through booking website for smoking room, they put us in a non smoking room, we waited for 45 minutes to change the room then the management said we can stay in the room and smoke. However at night the AC wasn t working very well and it s summer and really hot, we asked for maintenance and they came immediate to fix and said 2 minutes it will work, we were so tired and we slept the whole night with No Ac functioning properly. At the end they offered us complimentary drinks and got us some discount to make us happy.

Room not vacuumed, stained towel, shower draining slowly, rain shower/shower switch not working well, windows not soundproof. However staff very helpful to make up for aging hotel. Got upgraded due to many issues, thanks although the new room had the same issues. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Location is good. Overall good however might not deserve 5*.
