They never answer and ALWAYS say they are too busy...
They never answer and ALWAYS say they are too busy to take your call. This is ridiculous. if I could give 0 stars I would.

I understand this time is difficult but I haven't been able to reach anyone for many many days. It's been 3 weeks we haven't been paid because of an issue we faxed proof for. Trying to reach someone to see if they received a fax more than a week ago and well. I've been 40 min on hold with no light at the end of the tunnel. Really wish they would answer calls.
I been waiting on my unemployment since march 27, 2020 and only got 1 payment i havent got an email or a call from them. This place might as well be a fraud service since they dont want to help no one but the rich. This is the worst government service ever wouldnt recommended living in Indianapolis ever. If you file for it they immediately deny your unemployment and give the black people their unemployment immediately.
Still waiting for three weeks to have an issue resolved so I can get paid! First time I filed in my life and it s due to being quarantined. I deserve my money instead I m sitting here broke waiting!
They make incorrect decisions that COST people money and are impossible to get in contact with. Shameful.
I am highly disappointed with the poor service given from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development after denying my claim for unemployment because they said that I said that I quit a job for a personal reason. That is false. They never contacted me in any way to udate me on whether or not they had approved my claim or denied it on their website, claimant selfservice. The claimant self service is very antiquted, does not provide clear details about a weekly voucher Ive submitted for the past eleven weeks
All dealings with Indiana Department of Workforce Development in the past were very stressful. As mentioned before, multiple menus that loop you back to the same main menu....requests for callbacks are laughable since they do not honor their own statement of a 24 hour callback. Today, all of my experiences (I'm in human resources for a company.) were topped by THE FAX WOULDN'T ANSWER THE LINE! I've faxed 8 times today and not one would go through. Kept getting a "busy or unanswered" message from my fax machine about their fax machine. When you have a deadline to reply to them, yet can't reply, it's VERY VERY frustrating. This is the worst state or federal level department that I've ever dealt with.
Terrible service! I had a claims officer call me named Felicia and left a message saying I needed to contact her within 48 hrs. Called her right back...could never get through! Tried over the next couple days leaving several messages while continuing to call. My 48 hrs is over because she apparantly is not doing her job!
It's sad when i can't get unemployment when I've been working for the last 4 years at the hospital and I have to resign because I enrolled in school to better myself all the higher up should be fired asap at the Indiana unemployment office..
I had an accident while filing my voucher and I was hesitant to call them because their reviews were bad, but when I called them the person who was helping me was named Brooklyn and she was very helpful and fixed my problem in less than 15 minutes. I just wanted to thank them and Brooklyn for the help.
They answer the phone don't say anything then put your call back in que. That way they do not have to help you as they work from home. They waste time while you remain on hold. They say a claims rep will look over your account and call you back but they will not. They tell you to constantly re fax information that they do not work on then tell you to fax it again because they did not receive it. They make up information instead of looking at your actual account. Why are hours not extended during this Covid19 time no check no money need help and no one is available to take a call. I have been on hold for days over 2 hours. Benefit on hold trying to clear up things and can not.
I'd probably have a job by now if I hadn't spent the past 6 weeks trying to contact this office. The irony of the unemployment office being so underemployed has my head spinning.
Filed for unemployment since the beginning of May it is now July. I had two issues and a claims investigator only solved one issue which was to stop one week of benefits. What happened to solving the other issue so I can get payment for the other weeks? I have bills and two children and have yet to receive ONE payment. The ball has definitely been dropped! the representatives can t answer any questions because they claim an investigator will contact me...it s going on two months still no call! I cannot believe we work to put money into taxes, social security, Medicaid etc just for it not to available when we need it most! Ridiculous at its finest
Update: July 27
The claims investigator was extremely rude and biased. She talked over me and even hung up on me when I asked her to slow down due to her accent. She didn t give me a chance to even thoroughly answer her questions. She was extremely rudeIve been waiting 3 months just to get a rude claims investigator
I was told after waiting 5 hours on hold through their phone line that the office downtown was open for paying back the amount they overpaid me. I went to pay it because I refuse to pay the percentage they want to pay it online for a mistake I did not make! They will get it when I can pay it and get a receipt. I'm not sending the state mondg without being able to keeo a physical receipt as I've been charged twice before. I wasted paet of my day and paid for oarking for a note to say "not open to public."
These People are true cons. Automated #'s They say they will call you back but 10 calls and 3 weeks shows that they wont. One star because it made me.
I was laid off on June 11 and was told I would qualify for unemployment. I filed immediately and after the one week waiting period, have filed the weekly vouchers. I am up to 7 vouchers now and no payment "due to an unresolved issue". I have called once and emailed twice and recieved the same response all three times: Your claim requires further review. Someone will review it and update the claimant site, so please keep checking for updates. As of August 12, no updates and no indication of when someone will be reviewing my claim to fix it. I can see no sense of urgency on their part, and a total disregard for the fact I have been off work for 8 weeks with the expectation I could recieve some benefits while I seek new employment.
First, I was denied unemployment benefits for five weeks because some one incorrectly filled out paperwork.
Then, I got my benefits on time for two weeks before DWD decided to change my password, but didn t they didn t send or post any notification about it at all.
Now, I m currently on week eleven of being denied benefits for a second time. I worked freelance for a total of three days and DWD thinks I am employed full time. I answered their letter on this issue on July first (after figuring out they changed my password without any help from DWD) and haven t had any kind of reply in two months days. All while their spokesmen has the nerve to go on public radio and tell people to reply to their correspondences in a timely manner.
It has been at least four weeks of being told it is being looked into, but their story of what the problem is and if anyone is looking into it keeps changing.
I understand there is an increased amount of work and changing rules, but DWD needs to get their act together and show the slightest bit of concern for other human beings.
I ve been waiting 6 months just to be denied without a phone call from the claim investigator
9 weeks and still nothing... I have 3 kids and have not received anything... Ive called 5 different times and nothing has changed... My son has one kidney and he eats special foods... Can i have my money???
So after filling unemployment claims from late March, early April and early May and not receiving any payment I give a call. The system said 16 minutes. That was on a Tuesday. I received no callback until until Thursday and it happened to be at the most inconvenient time I could have received. I an t even schedule a callback and can only hope to be contacted by the time tomorrow is over after I initiate the call. Best advice, don t get laid off in Indiana.
If everyone has the same issue, normal customary shutdown, then clearly there is a programming issue that needs addressed. This has been the worst experience I've ever had in dealing with a government agency.
Absolutely terrible. It s been almost 3 months since I filed for unemployment. And I ve called and called and emailed, for a simple fix with an unresolved issue from answering a question wrong, yet one lady I spoke to was so hateful. They all just say they can t help and to wait. This business is a complete joke, there is absolutely no reason anyone should go almost 3 months with no pay especially with children. People are struggling and they could care less.
I filed unemployment march 22nd and did not recieve a payment until may 5th. I only got 2 payments then they stopped. Ive called every day they say some investigator will contact me but I literally have kids to feed and daycare is closed to so what am i suppose to do!? HELP
Awful service no help for people trying to keep it moving in these at questionable time. We shouldn't have to pay into something that has no care for those who want to survive
I hope and pray no one ever has to deal with them. At this point, this government entity might as well not exist AT ALL, I would have had the exact same experience dealing with Unemployment Insurance. I might as well have been sending vouchers to Santa Claus as it would have gotten me to the exact place I am currently.
I've waited 5 weeks for unemployment only to find out that I had a disqualification from 2018 holding up my payment. Yet when I try to call the call center I am on hold for over 3 hours only to be hung up on at 3 hours and 57 minutes. There's no way for representatives to have our phone number and call us back if we get disconnected. I have emailed more than four times and have never received the return email. I have called daily for a week now and have not spoke with anyone.
If i could give no stars i would. I've been waiting 5 months for assistance i call every week and the way there system is set up you're waiting your time ever step of the way. No one on there customer service team can help you wit anything all they can do is tell you that you just have to wait, in a time like this waiting isn't paying the bills.i just don't understand the hold up
Been waiting 45 days now to have my identity verified so I can collect. Was told it would take 10 to 20 days but so far, no resolution in sight
Waited 10 weeks for them to do anything. Finally got compensated for the last 3 weeks after calling and getting expedited. Called again, because there are still 7 weeks I haven t been compensated for, and of course no one has a clue what s going on. It s all up to the claims investigators. Well why didn t the claims investigator finish the job on all my weeks of filing?
Been trying to get unemployment for 2 months now called almost every week to hear from someone that theres a problem with my account, so i need to file an appeal for something LAST YEAR i dont understand why i wouldn't get a new investigator for a new claim but i guess not if i could give this zero stars i would its ridiculous. Im furloughed from work so its kinda hard to do anything.
Told I'm ineligible after being paid PUA since March only to file quarterly claim in July, not paid since then 10/5/20 I get a lovely letter saying I owe $10,884
You were given all the proof needed to prove I was eligible for PUA as 1 of several qualifications is "Were you scheduled to start a new job but couldn't due to COVID19?"
I was scheduled to start training for census 3/23/20, obviously the timeframe of COVID19. Definitely means I'm qualified.
Because of you we will vote out Holcolmb & speak to any media we can!!
Your "new system" isn't working!!
I'd give -10 if I could
Very disappointed & lived here all my life
That will change asap
Congratulations on being the worst state regulated department
"What do we expect from a state where employees are paid weekly while the peasants suffer & apply for food stamps & visit food banks!!!
I filed for partial unemployment when this whole thing came out. Worked two quarters last year and been working ever since. Im not even from this state but i didnt even work when i was back home. I moved up here to change my life and stay out of prison. So when i finally get my life right this pandemic breaks out and my hours get cut in half. I only filed 3/4 vouchers never got nothing in the mail about a decision nothing so i finally call. I asked the lady after we talked for a few mins finally i asked her so because i only worked two quarters out of a four quarter period and my hours got cut im denied help?? Her response was yes
Helpful and knowledgeable staff. It s unfortunate they were closed but that s because they were forced to. Once they opened I scheduled a same day appointment and when they let me use the phone I was instantly connected to someone who answered questions about my case. Keep in mind you need to reed everything available before calling them because they re getting a lot of calls about things they can t answer or have already been answered in some way. I m not saying it s easy. We all have to do our part to make sure people are getting the answers they need. There are millions of people depending on them right now so let s make sure we help keep the process smooth. Thanks Lafayette office for being so helpful.
DEPARTMENT OF WORK FORCE DOING GREAT JOB, I CALL AND LEFT MY NO , AFTER 15 MINTS THE Y ME BACK AND RESOLVE MY PROBLEM
They do not know anything. Called like five different times in the same day about the same issue and talked to a different person each time. I got a different answer each time. Also u have to wait a long time to speak to someone.
When they say a claimant investigator will contact you. That means they will call , Let it ring one maybe two times then hang up before you can answer. Then the process is started over again. I feel like the state of Indiana is always last in every single category of quality of life. Almost anyone who works in any government establishment is just there because it s a job...I cannot count on getting my unemployment back together. So , looks like I have to get to grinding until jobs pop back up. You can really tell that our Indiana government doesn t care about us.
It's not Work one ,they should have never changed to ID.ME. They tell you what you want to hear. We call it passing the Buck. SAD
Jess was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and patient in resolving my issue. Very much appreciated!
I initially filed in March and received the first 3 payments on time. Now every time I file it says unresolved issues. A claims investigator finally contacted me in June and got the back payments released then filed the next week and the same issue. It is now September and the last payment I received was at the end of June. Called the help center several times ( what a joke they are) was told the case would be expedited- after 2 weeks nothing changed called back again and was told it was never expedited. Also was told a claims investigator was not assigned even though I spoke with one that fixed it the first time around.
Supposedly they are here to help us out. But is all the way around. They are only good to screws us even more. Way to go to charge me overpayment of money you guys never gave me
Its baffling how an entire state can be so inept, and take so long to process anything.
I've called weekly, no representatives know anything about delayed payments. No contact from "claims investigator" mentioned in the hold message. I have not been paid since state closure of restaurants march. I begin defaulting on bills/rent at the end of this month.
I have been calling and requesting call backs for 3 weeks and I have been guaranteed a call back within 24 hours all 7 times I have called, I have yet to receive a call back.
Im mad I even have to give it 1 star to leave a review.
Very rude unprofessional people even the supervisors so sad
It's been 32 days since I've received a positive determination for eligibility. I spoke with a woman named Shirley who was very helpful and attentive. Unfortunately, the only help that could be offered was to wait another week or two.
I understand that they're dealing with heavy volume during these challenging times and I applaud the effort being put forth by the staff, but it's a major disappointment to see how poorly our safety net is functioning when it is needed the most.
I filed on March 28 and have yet to receive any assistance. On the bright side, the music they play when you're on hold is boss, so Five Stars.
