Awesome little grocer/butcher shop. Have a great selection for it being a smaller store. I never go anywhere else to buy meat. Highly recommend

I have always frequented meat markets where ever I have lived. Simply put, Inbodens is the best!

Thank you for practicing social distancing and having EVERYONE wearing masks. Initially we went to the Country Store & Catering in Sycamore only to find out they DO NOT practice social distancing nor wear masks. This was my first time at your store and I felt safe and the products I purchased were excellent. We will definitely come back, although we live near O'hare Airport but it's definitely worth the drive.

It's our local butcher that also has specialty foods and drinks. Nice deli counter as well. I go there weekly.

wonderful service at our wedding on Sunday September 16th, 2018. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Our guests really, truly, enjoyed the food. However, I'm a little frustrated that after all the emails, phone conversations and in person conversation, the dessert still was incorrect. Many times we discussed dessert to be blueberry, apple and cherry pie. I know it's just pie, but since the beginning when we hired you guys back in the spring of 2017 it's been very frustrating trying to communicate. Whether it's via phone or email, any details or changes discussed didn't stick and I had to constantly repeat myself. Any time we spoke over the phone or in person the excuse always was "we are really busy". As a former general manager of a restaurant I know this is a poor excuse to give your customers. I feel some management training might be needed to learn how to prioritize your day and learn how to immediately take action on a change your customers are communicating to you. Communication is key to a successful business and I'm not feeling that is high on the priority list. It's not very professional to tell your client you will call with a final dollar amount then days later still not make that phone call. I had to call multiple times to find out final amount. It's also frustrating and stressful when an increase in the head count is discussed multiple times, told the final dollar amount is for that change, get the cashier check for that amount, but the change didn't actually happen and cashiers check is short. I can't express enough how frustrated I am at the lack of, or poor quality of, communication from the catering department. I hope there are some changes and/or better training to save future clients from the same stress and frustration we experienced over the last year and a half.

Extremely rude and cussed at a customer over the phone. Very unhelpful staff. Hyvee is much better!

Great selection of deli food. Great meats and I just love the seafood. Salmon, shrimp, crab legs. All beef hotdogs and tons of fresh made salad add ins to suit about every taste. Love this place. Fast, curtious service, they answer all your questions. Great place. Handicap accessible parking and entrance. You can't find it. Ask and they'll get you pointed in the right direction.

Never been here before. I thought well gee I need some good meat. I'll hit you the local butcher. But that is not at all you're getting at Imboden's. Inside is the absolute best cinnamon bread I've ever had. The atmosphere is really calm and relaxed while you rummage through all the magnificent European goodies. Even Icelandic yogurt or English crumpets. My mother in law even found something I've never seen before. Bread in a can. This place is amazing. Great prices on stew beef and meats in general, but still a not pricey on the imports and house brand jars of beautiful marmalade. Enjoy it. Take your time if you've never been. Revisit it if it's been a while. A sumptuous land of divine treats. Enjoy it!

Staffs are very friendly and has the best meat in the city

As an advocate of workers rights I think its fair to point out The "team" at inbodens uses people from a homeless shelter to keep prices down the last time I checked. I am not aware of formal training so the learning experience they speak of seems to be a what are "they going do about it" when conditions are not satisfactory. ie.. the cussing. Go to jewel or schnucks at least there employees are not treated like the meat. The business has been around long enough to give back to community not take from it.

Hidden Gem!!! Imboden's has the best selection of meat! Amazing chops, steaks, fish, chicken...awesome cuts, some marinated & grill ready! Best customer service and support. We mentioned we were NIU alums heading back to Chicago and the manager gave us ice to keep our selections cold for our journey! Wonderful amount of fresh garden veggies and dry goods too at great prices! Great check out service too. Open parking. Highly recommended.

Local, fresh foods, and smaller amounts of things if that's what you need. Meats, of course, are the specialty, but it's a full grocery. Don't miss the prepared foods - the salmon is smoked in-house, and less expensive than other stores. Also, the herring is the best I've had. Every salad I've tried has been delicious, too.

Everything here at Inboden's - the meat, grocery items, and especially the help - is all absolutely top notch. No other store in the area provides the level of quality Inboden's always provides. They are always trying out new specialty items. Their prepared and frozen foods are superb. Most shop here for the incredible meats. However, though their produce area may be small, the prices are really no worse than the mega-chain stores, and the produce is always vastly fresher, tastier, better quality. You must shop here if you're in the DeKalb/Sycamore area!

Inbodens catered our wedding and it was all amazing! The food was excellent and the staff was so helpful and friendly!!! We couldn't have been more happy. Our guests are still talking about how great the food was!

Best Prime Meat in the DeKalb area, from burgers and Italian sausage to stuffed pork chops. Phenomenal taste and excellent service makes Inboden's a great place to visit if you're ever in the area.

I can t believe I ve been in Dekalb for over 3 years and never checked this place out. They have goat meat and oxtail like I just fell in love. I can feel at home just a little bit. The employees were so helpful and generous. Thank you so much. I ll be back soon

It was my 1st time there. For some context on my experience.....I visited thier website where 97% ground sirloin was listed on sale among other items. When i got there i was greeted with resistance from the people behind the counter on the sale price listed on website. 2 employees began to speak over and interrupt me as I was trying to explain this is my 1st time here and show them its on the website. Finally who I assume was a manger came. I showed him the website on my phone. As the manager went to go in the back and check a 3rd employee belted out in a rude tone "PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE!" again I pointed out this was my 1st time in the store and i didnt want to argue with anybody even thoughcat this point i wanted to based off the rude 3rd guy. A few minutes later the assumed manager came back saying they would honor the prices listed,that the website was a mistake and asked what I would like . Other than that debauchery the store was clean and well stocked. I didn't like how not many prices are listed for the case items in deli and butcher shop I had to ask the price of pretty much everything. They do have quality meats though. Just be weary of the website and 1 or 2 rude employees.

My wife stopped in yesterday and after standing in a long line to get up to the mean counter. After finally getting there she was looking too see what she wanted she was told by a person behind d the counter that he didn't have time for her to decide! He was extremely rude to her! We will be shopping at Headon'n from now on!

Inbodens had the best meat in DeKalb period. They supply most of the restaurants in the area with their beef and pork. The prices are a but more than the chain stirs but the quality is light years better. You will find that there is ana considerably less waste with Inbodens meats. Watch out how meat is marketed in chain stores, a friend commented to me that Inbodens breakfast sausage was almost a similar a pound more than the chain stores. The thing isthe chain store sausage is sold in 12 ounce packages not 16 ounce. The price difference is negligible. Of you want a special cut of meat it is no problem, you can get it cut to your specification in jugreenst a core of minutes. Fresh turkeys and duck are available year round just give them a couple days notice.
They have a wide selection of deli meats and sides as well as fresh baked breads and deserts. Most of their produce is locally grown. They have a really nice selection of mid priced wines and beer. The staff are all friendly and helpful.

A great butcher shop, deli, and gourmet grocery with beer and wine. Great meats and lots of side dishes and general grocery items. The deli dinners can sell out quickly of Thursday nights. Very clean and orderly store with lots of unique offerings.

Best meat market among other things. I always place a BIG order when their Bourbon Stakes are on sale. Wish they were closer to Woodridge.

My wife and I have been driving past Inboden's on our trips to DeKalb for several months now, and this past Saturday, the stars finally aligned and they were open and we had time to stop in. This store has everything you'd need to either prepare a meal or buy one that you can heat up at home. Yeah, they have a few varieties of Campbell's soup on the shelves, but they also carry many other brands. We went in to get some meat for dinner and walked out with a ribeye, two skewers of shish-ka-bob, steak house potato salad, egg salad potato salad, twice baked potato, Italian pull-apart bread, tapioca pudding, and frozen chicken rice soup. We tried everything so far except the soup. We agreed that everything was excellent except for the shish-ka-bobs. They were a little bland, which we corrected with some bbq sauce. The other problem with them was that they were packed so big and tight that the meats didn't cook through all the way (I know, this is a good problem to have, and one that can be resolved by slow cooking). So maybe it's not really a problem, but if you buy the shish-ka-bobs, be prepared to spend some time cooking them. The store is a very nice mix of new and old. Modern conveniences and a rich variety of foods, but definitely an old-time feel to the place--mind you, not worn out, just a nice nostalgic old-time feel. We will definitely be stopping in again on a regular basis!

I love Inboden's. They have a great meat selection, it's always delicious and never overpriced. Their deli is awesome, a great selection of local and imported meats and cheeses. They have an olive bar with giant containers of flavored olive oils, and different balsamic vinegar. The bakery is nice (if a little expensive sometimes) and their beer selection is tops! Ask the staff if you don't see what you want, the beer and wine department service staff might be able to order it. Either way though you'll find a great selection of beer from all over the country (and beyond!)
