Alot of empty seats yet we had to share an already small table with another couple. The manager was coming around making everyone turn the tables long ways, little manager got in a argument with the couple beside me he was unprofessional and seemed like he wanted to be a security guard too. Performance by Felipe esparza was great though.

The staff inside are very rude. When Asking someone a question you IMMEDIATELY feel like youre a bother and hated for having the audacity to speak to them.

I dont care for their policy of making you sit with strangers. Im usually alone so im always apprehensive about buying tickets to shows at the improv because i know ill be seated with people I don t know.

The Houston Improv is excellent every time I attend. I love the intimate setting, the grown up folks, the living entertainment and the seating is perfect no matter where you sit in the establishment. Also, the tickets are reasonable priced so the fact that you have to purchase a drink or an appetizer is no big deal.

I purchased tickets to other events in Houston at the (NRG) yet I can't see the entertainers with the big screens and I am 1/2 miles from the stage, in addition the tickets we're almost $300...

I am going with the HOUSTON IMPROV every time and will gladly purchased 2 items ...

It I could give the Improv more stars I would.

5/5. Took my wife here for our 5th wedding anniversary. We got there at 6:30 when doors opened because we were concerned about general admission seating. To our surprise, every gen-admission seat was great. Since we came early, we snagged one of the general admission seats that was on the main floor so we were within 10ft of the stage. We also had plenty of time to have a nice dinner before the show started. Service was great. Prices were a little high BUT when you factor we got to see an A list comic for 20$ tickets; the final bill with food was still very affordable.

100% will be coming back.

This place is HORRIBLE!! Our show started at 11pm and we did not get seated until after 11:30pm. Just a ghetto mess!! They would not refund our money and no one seem to care. My shoes were stepped on and everyone seemed to be under the influence!!! I would not recommend this place!! They do not care about the consumer!! They only care about ticket sales!! I am very disappointed in DeRay Davis( our performer) he apparently didn t start his show until late!! I will never come back to this place and I would advise you the same!!!

When we got there there was no order or direction. We entered into the bar area ans everyone was standing around. The ticket booth gave us our tickets but never told us what to do. When it was time to be seated they said make sure you have your ticket and they opened the door for everyone to go in. There was no order and no one even looked at our ticket. Anyone could have came in! The waitress took forever to serve us the food was just OK. The soda's were flat and it was waaaay too cold in there they had the AC blasting I was so uncomfortable all night.

So I was excited to see a comic competition here. The food was better than I expected but the staff was Really disorganized. After an hour and a half show (when they knew how many people entered) They didn t have enough ballots for half the people there....How do you seat us, serve us all, but not use that hour and a half to print out enough ballots for us?

We went there for the family Comedy & Magic show, which was okay entertainment. It was good for something to do with kids for an afternoon. The food is barely average. Would not eat there again. Would definitely eat elsewhere before or after a show. I would like to go back for an evening comedy show. The line up looks pretty good for upcoming shows.

This place is ridiculous so out of date with technology to start off I bought tickets online and I still had to wait in line to get a receipt with assigned seating!! Then prior to the show I couldn t order a drink at the bar ?? The seating is too crammed and so uncomfortable!
Service seemed very rushed st the end and payment was demanded before the show was over!
Also server was right next to my ear counting her receipts and money and I couldnt ever enjoy the end of the show!
So disappointed! Never again !!

Place is fine but a little crowded. They make you sit with another couple @ the same table during the show. You have to purchase 2 items from the menu per person or you will be charged if you do not do so. The cheapest thing is bottle water for $4. All the food is $10 & up as well as alcoholic drinks. We ordered 2 beers, a plate of chips & salsa, & 1 bottle water & total was $45. Plus they make you pay 18% gratuity. The show usually last @ least 2 hours with a opening act. I guess it is alright for the price of the comedians, but to me they could sit you alone not with another couple & the sitting is sooo crowded as i said, you can't even push your chair back without bumping the person behind you. Oh & there are no refunds on tickets no exceptions so make sure you are able to really go & nothing comes up.

I went to the improv comedy club for the first time over the weekend with my boyfriend. The stand up was very funny and we had a very great time. The servers were quick and walked by frequently to refill our order or get anything else. There were plenty of seating but to me, it was a bit crowded. We arrived right as it was supposed to start and even though the hall was packed, we were able to sit with a random couple in the front area. I would assume this would be hard if you have a big group. I knocked off a star because the drink prices were pretty high and they require you to buy two drinks minimum or will charge you anyway. The drinks/food ended up equaling the tickets price.

I purchased my tickets online, like everyone else in the modern age. They emailed me a "mobile ticket" with the instructions, show starts at 9:45 but doors open at 9am and to bring ID and the cc I used to purchase the tickets. I show up at 9 to grab a few drinks and relax. At 9:45 they tell me I need to get a physical ticket and needed to wait outside. Annoyed I agreed to grab a ticket and and waited, an hour later 10:45 pm we are still waiting outside with zero explanation on why we were still out there. Keep in mind this is tx, it's still 80+ degrees outside. The wait staff was terrific, but due to poor communication and management I am rating them with a 1 .

The food is overpriced and cold and the seating is crowded.Great shows though! If you are going to make people tip 18 percent automatically( I usually tip 20 percent, so their loss), then the service should reflect it.This is the problem with automatic tips!

Went to see Nicole Byer on 9/11/2019. Host comedian was good, Nicole was hilarious... but everything else was awful. No water provided no refills, required to buy minimum two items per person that were egregiously over priced with an obligatory 18% service charge. Had the gall to ask for additional tip and to top it off we were held locked in the auditorium and refused the right to leave with no answer given. Threatened to call the cops on us if we attempted to leave. Blatant disregard of safety codes and people with health concerns and disabilities. Would not go again. Would not recommend. Try another venue with more class and decency. Or at least somewhere that won t hold you hostage.

The venue is jam packed and kind of over cramped. The employees are nice, but be ready to spend more on food and drinks than on the tickets to the show. 7.50 for a bottle of water, since they don't serve glasses of water that more or less your only option for non booze drinks unless you want an over priced soda. But the shows they book are pretty amazing so I can't complain to much I guess.

We paid for the "Show Room" seating which is in the front, as opposed to what they called general seating which was first come first serve, in the back. The premium didn't see to be worth it, as the back was totally roped off and they were sitting everyone in the front anyway. The also seem a little too desperate to fit as many tables as possible in there. Ours was touching the stage to the far left. it was a very awkward viewing angle.

I wish we were allowed to pick our table when purchasing the tickets, instead the system seemingly picked our table for us and imprinted it on the ticket stub. That alone would had made this a much more positive experience.

The 10 dollar electronic delivery fee for buying online is mildly insulting.. When movie theaters use to tack on a couple of bucks it was confusing being if anything you were savings them labor hours at the ticket booth, but 10 dollars is ridiculous, especially when buying 65 dollars worth of tickets.

The food wasn't bad, but not really good either. Kind of reminded me of Chilies on a bad day.Lots of fried stuff, and hamburgers. I'd say it compared to Movie Studio Grill in that respect. They had a lot of cocktails, but mostly chick drinks. It's not the type of place you would want to order an Old Fashioned and expect it to be made properly. They had a decent selection of beer though, including several from local breweries like Karbach, 8th Wonder, and Saint Arnold...which was a huge plus.

We saw Pablo Francisco. Surprisingly his openers ended up being much funnier than he was, and we really enjoyed them. Pablo mostly just made humping gestures while using the Allstate, or movie trailer voice over guy voice. When he did try to tell an actual joke he often started laughing at the punchline, before delivering it, and then abandoning the attempt all together. Amusing for a few minutes, but got tiring fast. His openers made up for it though.

Houston Improv venue is nice the comedians are great and I ve had great service best staff. Hands down The problem I have is the service charge you pay for going to the box office to buy tickets and all the extra charges like food tax, liquor tax not to mention the 2 item minimum of purchases and 18% gratuity for just sitting at the table. I have purchased tickets online and of course there is a service charge, but buying tickets at the box office and charged the same service fee is ridiculous.

We were here on a very busy night. The stand up comedian was fabulous and this review would be 5 stars if it were based on that solely. However, the service was horrible. We received absolutely no service whatsoever. We arrived early so that we could put in our orders and we were told he d be right back . He ignored us the rest of the night on the rare occasion that he was even in the section. He seemed to be more focused on the bigger tables than anything. We watched him mess up the orders of tables around us. He never took our order. We had no drinks and no food the whole time. We decided that as the show was ending two hours later and he was passing out checks that rather than confront the issue we would just go elsewhere with better service. Their loss. The two stars go to the good environment and reasonable ticket prices. If you get a good waiter I think that it s a great date night, but unfortunately we just didn t get lucky.

So disappointed ...got here at 8 for an 8:30 showing and we had to sit separately with a beam between us and the stage so we had obstructed views as well ...then last bar call was at 8:30 and the main act hadn t even started yet...I have to say we won t be coming back again and we spent 30.00 each for these tickets ...they could ve easily opened up another row of seating to make sure that their fans were comfortable but they wouldnt do it !

They overbook venues making you sit at a table with strangers which is hit or miss. You buy the tickets then when you go inside they tell you that a two food item purchase per person is required? There food and even their soda suck. You also have to wait in a long line that stretches outside into whatever weather and NO awning for shade or shelter. Can you believe the comedians HOLD BACK. What I mean is that they say only family friendly comedy. It's not a coincidence, I've been here many times and even walked out on Wanda Sykes. Plan on spending over $120 on some yawn comedy if you even find a parking spot.
