This place has some big names come through! The atmosphere is fairly upscale. However, they really pack people in tight for the bigger shows, I was bumped by the person sitting behind me a lot. Also, the drinks are VERY pricey, keep an eye on your ticket purchase to see if it includes a "2 item minimum purchase". The bar tab is often more expensive than the tickets to get in. Other than these things, this place is a very cool spot!

John Witherspoon from the film Friday is so funny. My wife and I have gone there often over the years but this show is the funniest ever. The service and the other comedians were good. And the service was excellent!

Can someone tell me why they have a mandatory two drink minimum and then they charge an automatic 18% service charge on the mandatory drinks? This doesn't include gratuity. Makes me feel like I am being taken advantage of!

Awesome locations staff is extremely nice as long as your not rude and will always work with you; again as long as you don't talk them like there your servant .

This goes for anywhere also;

Maria was our server and an amazing one at that.

Have been going here since my girlfriends birthday last November and they have great comics perform here. I don't recommend the food too much very pricey and tastes underwhelming. I only gave 4 stars for that aspect.

Went for an evening when Carlos mencia was preforming. Didn't get off to a great start (hour late, not their fault, mencia was running long on the first set) but it worked out great once we were in. Standard deal, you have to buy two things per person (we got some drinks and dessert). Service was great. The room was quite nice and the performance was awesome (I was pleasantly surprised). Looking forward to going again.

Disappointed in the service. Went to a kids/family show and they closed off half of their seats forcing everyone to sit uncomfortably close to each other in a small space. They had sold more tickets than seats they had open. They kept adding chairs to already overcrowded tables.Their food and drinks are way over priced. $4 for a glass of lemonade, and half the glass was ice. I noticed they add a service charge to their final sales check. I paid cash and was expecting $8 in change but the waiter disappeared. Why would the waiter think he was getting an $8 tip on a $12 check. That's just theft at that point. Phuck the improve.

This was my first time coming to see a show here, I was very excited to see anjelah Johnson. Not only did the show not start til an almost an hr and a half late, the waitstaff was terrible.

I understand they had a lot of people to attend to, but my server took everyone's order at my table and blatantly overlooked me and walked away. When he brought drinks to the table to the others I signaled again and he walked off. A woman from another table even tried to get his attention and nothing.

Finally he being brings the food for the others and then asks what I want as if I was inconveniencing him.

Anjelah was great but the fact that they charge you whether you order or not and add an automatic 18% gratuity, and my service was terrible I will not ever return. Improv is a total RIP off and a racket.

Although I have no complaints about the show or the service inside I must say that the wait was over 2 hours which was very uncomfortable being 9 months pregnant standing outside in the Houston heat/humidity. They didn't make any announcements about the delay which was frustrating. They should have a plan for things such as a delay.

We went this past week to improv it was really nice we went to go see Chingo Bling.
He had really good jokes and kept the show going. The food was really amazing we had drinks. It is a little bit overpriced but it is a good experience at least try once

Very fun. However, there is a requirement for buying 2 items per person. Either drinks or food items. The food is not good though and is very expensive.

For the amount of money they charge for the food items the quality should be a lot better. Their iced tea is instant tea.
There is a 18% automatic service charge that is automatically added, and it is not part of your gratuity.

They only have Pepsi products to mix with your alcohol. Overall experience of the show was great with the comedians.

However, they need to improve the quality of their food items if they are going to charge their prices.
If they keep their quality of food they currently, are using then they need to lower them.

Two of us walked out of there at $62 only one of us had two drinks, that were $7.50 each, and then ordered a tea. Then we ordered cheese sticks and a small quesadilla.

Had a great time on an off night. I think it was a Wednesday. A local comedian Stacy Anderson had the crowd peeing their pants in laughter. The bartender wasnt very nice or the sharpest tool in the shed for that matter. But, the waitstaff well made up for what he lacked.... Good clean fun.

The performers gave me LIFE ...BUT the only thing that was the food THE improve nachos with chickn appetizer was chwwy not crispy like they Microwaved it my bbq wings looked stale they weew a little warmer than my nachos.drink was good.I played it safe with a frozen pinacolada.ATLEAAT THE SHOW WAS GRRREAT

Comedians were absolutely excellent, it s especially worth the trip if there is someone you know on stage. There is a two item minimum purchase, which only counts while you are sitting though, and you can only get water if you purchase a bottle for $4. The company doesn t treat their patrons like they want them there.

always have a good time here, my last visit was to see DL hughley. the show was extremely racist. those "comedians" apparently were very angry. lol. anyway the venue is really nice. we will be back

Show was great.

Show was great.
Service was horrible. Server, James H., was very rude, horrible customer service and a nasty attitude! Not sure how he works at this establishment.
Worst service I have ever gotten here!

Attended event last week, there was not online guidance on how COVID safety measures were being applied at 50% occupancy, so we purchased the upgrade for a 2 person table to be closer to the stage and still have social distancing. But what they did was close the 2 back sections and seat everyone in the first 2 sections of the club. No distancing of tables. They did take temps outside and recommended masks, but without requiring them shoving us all together (like preCOVID) felt unsafe when there was plenty of room to spread put. I sent an email about my concerns and never received a response. The comedians, fantastic, but I wouldn't recommend paying for anything above General Admission if you go at all. Also....the fees are really steep on top of minimum food/beverage purchases.

Staff was very friendly and inviting.
The bathrooms were nice, and the establishment seemed reasonably clean.

The standup was okay, maybe about 50-60% of the jokes were good.
Asked specific questions about a drink, the waiter assured us of what we asked, and what we got was the exact opposite. The drinks were mediocre at best (non alcoholic) and expensive. The food was cheap TV dinner quality for a high premium.
The chairs were very uncomfortable, and faced sideways (back and neck ached afterwards). Definitely go for a booth if you're going.

They seated us with strangers a few minutes into the show, then moved them, and moved another couple to our table. We had reserved our seating and it seemed distracting to be moving around people after the show started.

You're required to buy 2 things or you'll be charged $4 for each item you don't buy, and you're automatically charged an 18% tip.
They are rather upfront with this, which is good, but it can become a rather expensive outing.

The place is too small with too many tables. You often have to sit with another couple if you don't make it early. You stand in a long line to get in. They need to expand the place and work on the seating and process to enter.

I come here often and it takes one bad time to change your mind about ever going again. My experience was being accused of taking a picture of an performer and i clearly didnt. The usher came forcefully asking me to delete a picture i didnt have.. I told him I didnt take any picture the first thing out of his mouth was threatning me saying "I WILL THROW YOU OUT!". So me wanting to stay i showed him i didnt take any picture. Then he just walks away without telling me sorry or anything so from that point on i felt disrespected. I didnt have to show him anything. He has no badge or no warrant to search anything of mines. I went speak to the manager and all he done was take the employee side and argue back with me like it was a dispute. At the same time the employee that disrespected me just stands there like he big and bad and ready to kick me out mugging me and rolling his eyes.. I seriously thought customers was first, but i guess it doesnt work in this business.. They will be lucky if they see any of my money again..
But i will be contacting a general manager

The Improv is a nice venue but we saw Aries Spears and he was HORRIBLE! We felt like we were at a speech/rant and not enjoying comedy. I would mark sure to see someone who wants to make you laugh and have a relaxing evening.

The show we were at was amazing, however the place kind of ran a scam on us. We bought VIP tickets which specifically said we would get a PRIVATE meet and greet with Maz Jobrani. INSTEAD a line was formed by the entire audience at the end of the show. Which meant ALL the VIPs were at the VERY END of the line. We had to wait 30 minutes for a 15 second interaction. We were lied to and should get a refund for this SCAM! DONT waste your money, just sit in the back, and then you can meet the comedian FIRST and spend less money. We will NEVER come again.

Loved the atmosphere and the comedians. The drinks were surprisingly pretty good. Don't expect drinks or food to be good from theaters/etc. But, we were pleasantly surprised.

The only downfall is the way they handle the ordering/business is a bit... sketchy. they incur a 18% service fee that is NOT the tip. So what is it for...?

And require every person to order at least 2 items or pay an extra 4$ which will probably also get service fee'd according to other reviews... thats all a bit money-grabby/sketchy for me.

Always a fun place. Ordered a quesadilla because how can you possibly mess that up? Cheese, tortilla, some meat....yeah, it's very possible to mess up a quesadilla. Other than that, it was fun. I'll definitely go back but not for the food.

Once a month there is a very prestigious poetry show. This is NOT your typical roses are red, violets are blue poetry. There is raw entertainment and it s worth every penny, plus more. Follow @_lady380 on Instagram or Lady380 on Facebook for updates.

The comedian I saw last night was hilarious!!! Service is pretty good. The bad part is the club nickel and dimes you for everything. They charge a 18% service fee to your bill, which they claim is not a tip/gratuity. The also don t have ANY free water. Regular sized bottled water is $3.75. Food is just ok at best....nothing spectacular at all.
