Terrible, when they dont tell you you must share ur table, with strangers their loss because we could have ordered more than we did but didn't have a table to place our drinks or food ,they should have the courtesy of telling you that when you purchase ur ticket and let you be one to decide if you want to sit with strangers, ruined the night for me,l did speak to a manager about it,but l guess all they care about is taking ur money ,watch out they might just sit you in the aisle ......by the way the comian was great, just not the place....wont ever go back....

Decent place, but beware of excessive "service fees" on everything! Minimum two drink order, 18% fees are added on top of everything you order + you need to tip, because the fee apparently is not going to the servers. It's a scam, nothing else. So be prepared to pay ~40% more than the price you see on the menu for everything. Just put the right price on the menus.. It's not hard!

Since remodeling a few years ago, the IMPROV definitely has changed the historical comedy club experience from when it was smoke filled with concrete floors and a stage. The calendar features a great array of comedians on a regular basis and ticket prices are fairly reasonable.

I get why they have a 2 item minimum, but I wish they would offer better food and non-alcoholic drink menus. Minor complaint overall because the laughs make up for everything.

B U T, the club will screw you with additional "fees" that they FAIL to mention in advance. i.e.; 18% "convenience" charge? Oh come on! Its not like there were 20 people in our group, it was just my wife and I.
The drinks were watered down significantly. From the first to the third. Couldn't taste even a slight bit of alcohol.
I will not be going back unless somebody else pays. Not worth MY money.

Very dissatisfied. I am sitting in middle of this room and everyone has been served but me. I have brought it to the attention to two servers and I am still being ignored. This is so disrespectful

Wonderful lineup and service. Terrible food. If you are going to charge so much money on food, it could at least have been prepared fresh. By far the worst fried pickles, shrimp and chicken strips I have ever had. No exaggeration. Everything tasted like it had been reheated several times and had more preservatives than I thought you could put in food.

So the show was fun but the way they do tickets was insane. You had to wait in line until just before the show in arbitrary lines and they hand write your seat on your ticket. So if you buy tickets for a group make sure you buy them ALL together. Also the drinks were RIDICULOUSLY over priced. I had fun but I will not be going back. I'll watch the comedy special in Netflix.

The venue is nice the comedians are great and I ve had great service. The problem I have is the service charge you pay for going to the box office to buy tickets and all the extra charges like food tax, liquor tax not to mention the 2 item minimum of purchases and 18% gratuity for just sitting at the table. I have purchased tickets online and of course there is a service charge, but buying tickets at the box office and charged the same service fee is ridiculous.

Had a fabulous time the show was awesome especially this comedian mr. Rudy Rush totally totally funny I would love to go and check him out again. The only thing I didn't care for was the fact that they are charging $8 for a basket of nothing but french fries $15 for a watered-down drink. as a person that is a part of the entertainment industry that is a total No No!!! IMPROV I love you will return again but I'm not sure if I'll be buying any more of your high-priced water down cocktail drinks. I'm going to have to get what I know is real a bottle of beer!

This review is for the improv itself. We went for the first time yesterday. A couple of things they dont tell you is that when you go to a show if you are party of 2 or less you will be seated with strangers . Another thing ,they dont tell you that a 18% gratuity is automatically added to your bill which wouldn't be a problem if the servers were competent and unfortunately ours was not. We ordered nachos and I asked for no pico de gallo since my husband cant eat tomatoes....can you guess what they put on the nachos?? . We also got the calamari which was extremely tough and chewy . Honesty you are better off paying the 4$ for not ordering anything and just eating before or after. Also the staff was rude at the end of the show. We bought the meet and greet and while we were in line the employees said no talking to the comedians or else the rest would have to leave because of running out of time. I wouldn't go here again.

Showed up at 8p for seating at 8:30 show, had to stand outside in line until 9p when they let us in so previous show could empty. Not even a mention from management. It was very disrespectful and I don't intend to go back soon.

We saw Dusty Slay here and loved it. The comedy club itself was good; more comfortable than some clubs I've been to as far as seating setup and whatnot. We had a great time and would definitely check out more comedians at this club.

Buy your tickets in advance! Either online or in person. Get there early to check-in, the day of, if you want good seats. The seating inside is still crammed even after their "major" renovations. Not every table has a good view of the stage. The celebrities/comedians usually do 2 to 3 shows per day, Friday to Sunday. Their website has more information on what days and times. Will visit again.

I have frequented the location for years. The Earthquake show on Saturday, June 3rd was the last stop for our group celebrating my youngest daughter's graduation. There would be 7 of us. I purchased the tickets over the phone, picked them up at will call and was seated along with 3 of my guest after waiting in line for about 30 minutes. Those of us who had arrived ordered and my son walked the ticket up to the front so that the remaining quest could be escorted in. Shortly thereafter a hispanic guy with a beard approaches me and says you're gonna have to scoot over because you can't just take over this whole table by yourself. I explained that there were 7 of us 3 times at a low tone and asked that he check the ticket up front. He said I needed to go get the ticket and either way the couple was sitting down. Then went on to say if I continued being so rude he would have me put out. The waiter who was waiting on us walks up and advised that there were in fact 7 of us, but the hispanic guy continues to tell the couple to sit. Then I say the hell they will because now I'm pissed. I have been disrespected and yelled at in front of my children along with everyone else. The lady who was part of the couple begins to curse me out and another one of your staff approaches me and tells me he's gonna put me out. Why? I'm sitting in my assigned sit. Why is this happening to me? I walk past to the front and the guy tells me its fine the hispanic guy has it wrong. As I walked by the other guests that were accompanying the couple made slurs as I walked by. When I return to my seat everyone is gone, but the comic Ali gets on the stage and proceeds to say how black women always acting up. He even went further to say he would put me out. The hispanic guy continuously keeps coming to our table blocking the show pretending to clear etc., but he's not our server. Management never came to apologize for the error. I called to speak to the manager Tuesday after and left a message, but no one had the decency to call me back. The irony is that the entire show there were 2 seats directly across the aisle from us that went unoccupied the entire night, but the guy chose me to single out. Why was the assumption made by your staff that me as a black woman was trying to get special seating that I was not entitled to, but the white couple that bought separate seats was given priority and respect. This woman was allowed to approach me about a table that I paid for. There is no excuse for the way my guest and I were treated even after it was clear that YOU ALL MESSED UP. Although, Earthquake put on an excellent show I couldn't help, but feel humiliated. My children didn't even eat because they were so upset at the way I was treated. The fact that mgt did nothing to make it right is madness to me. The only reason why I didn't have us all walk out is I didn't want to ruin it for the kids, but the truth is after the fact they were upset we didn't just leave. Not to long ago I was in a wheelchair and the Improv was one of the few places I could go that would accommodate me, but this experience showed a side to this place I don't like and won't return. There is no way I will pay money to be humiliated.

I love stand up comedy! So much fun actually going versus watching on tv. Food prices are stupid high and nothing healthy if you're trying to behave but that's to be expected. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent place to spend a night in Houston. We are big fans of stand up comedy and this comedy club is in a nice plaza near a movie theater, ice cream shop, and restaurants.the food they serve has reasonable quality, and is a lit pricey. The service is good. The whole experience was great and I highly recommend you checking them out.

Improv used to be very organized now you have to seat yourself at a table with strangers at least before if you were going to sit with strangers the attendants would do that.. Also, they have mandatory upcharge. I'll be going to the House of Blues now instead of Improv
