Wide variety of exhibits and activities to engage all ages could occupy the entire family all day. Staff is virtually always available and helpful. Parking can be difficult because of limited space in lots.

The very best children's science center we've ever been to! We live 2 hours away. We went because we were visiting family in Lansing for the weekend. I would definitely drive just for this place! We spent 5 hours there with my 3 yr old son and 6 year old nephew, and we still didn't even see 1/2 of the place!
So so so many things to try out, touch, experience. Friendly staff. Super clean and we'll kept building.
I was very impressed!

Endless fun for children and adults alike with a very reasonable pricetag. My daughter's had a blast for 3 hours straight and we barely scratched the surface of the available activities.

What is there left to say about Impression 5? Best hands-on kids experience in the area. Science, art, nature, crafts, water play, and much, much more. Educational, fun, active, positive play for kids (and adults!) We also highly recommend the store in the lower level, always full of awesome gifts and educational toys.

Fun, education time for a 2+ year old. They do have things for even younger kids, but they really have to be at least 2 to really enjoy it. There is not many places to bring a toddler, and so this needs to be on your list of things to try.

A wonderful addition to the community. Membership is by far the way to go as it pays for itself in just a couple of visits. Something for kids aged toddler through upper elementary. Their new water exhibit is amazing.

This was a great experience for my whole family. They have a fantastic amount of hands-on science that is thoughtfully planned with explanations throughout. Our kids loved it and a couple of hours disappeared quite quickly. Staff was great as well!

We love it here! All hands on activities that teach but keep kids active. Water tables and area as well as building. Gift shop has hands on toys and educational things to buy and take home.

Great spot to take a child. My daughter likes the nature and water exhibits quite a bit, and the dark room with the "stick' shadow is a lot of fun, too. It's a place where adults can join in the play, or just grab a book and lets the kids do their own thing. Train lovers will enjoy the huge model train exhibit in the basement.

Great place for kids to learn and have fun. They have changed so much from the last time I was there, but the kids have so much fun. From bubbles to a dark room, kids are sure to have fun.

As an engineer as well as a kid at heart, I loved my visit to this place. I think my almost-seven-year-old son did too, lol. They have a rotating display, which was dinosaurs when I was there. It wasn't a huge display, but I got to touch a real Tyrannosaurus Rex thigh fossil! Like they put it there specifically so you could touch it. How cool is that?!

The permenant exhibits were interactive and interesting too. The standard Lego table and bubble area, but also they had some light painting, a really fun water area, a Giant light-bright and several chairs-on-a-block-and-tackle (which I'm still trying to explain to my son) so you could use different amounts of force to lift yourself. Fish tanks and bird feeder Webcams and pneumatic ball launchers and paper airplane launchers. Yeah, this place was the best kid-hands-on-musuem I've been to, I mean I've take my son to, yet.

Overall it seemed well maintained and clean, though a couple items from the exhibits were beaten up (understandable). All the staff we met we friendly, even the ones cleaning up after the wee little kids. Really I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to instill a little wonder and a little science into their kids in a hands-on, engaging, fun way.

Great fun. Great staff. Science is everywhere!

Great fun. Great staff. Science is everywhere!

Impression 5 has lots of age appropriate and restricted areas that make parents alot more comfortable with their child's safety. Even to the point of removing shoes in 4yr old and younger areas.

Science and wonder done right - a great place for kids and adults of all ages. We've been members for years and our kids never tire of going here. Make sure to look at the calendar of events and seasonal travelling shows - we're really lucky to have something like this in Lansing!

Wonderful place to bring the study of science into your child's life. My 4 yr old grandson loves coming and tries different things each time. Such a variety. A family membership is a great price and can be given as a holiday gift . There's a 4 and under playroom that had so many different activities. Many things for older children are also doable by the younger kids. Special events come to the museum for a few weeks. It's Clifford the dog now. There's also classes that are age appropriate but cost extra (reasonably priced). I would rank a 5 if there was a turnover of new activities a little more often especially for those of preschool age. Also a better vending area with some nutritional snacks. Great place and usually spend 3 hours there at least.
