I grew up coming here alot. I remember when they had a section where you would blindfold yourself and use a walking cane to try and navigate the area. It's amazing to see how much they've changed and grown. Just like science: forever growing and changing.

they would rotate exhibits more often. You go once a year and that's pretty much all you need because it stays the same. My kids love going here but they get bored seeing the same things every time and the wear and tear on a lot of the interactive stuff really starts to show.
Lots of activities for small children and plenty of fun science activities that had me joining in on the fun. We have visited multiple times and we still find new fun things to do.
Took two 5 year old boys here for a few hours. They LOVED it!!! Their votes on most fun stations: paper air plane throwing machine, playing with water, and the catapult throwing. The admission fee is not unreasonable and it was not too busy so they were able to play with everything.

A great place to go with or without kids. It is fun for all ages. Although we take our kids here, it seems like I have more fun than the kids. Parking is convenient and free. The gift shop keeps parents busy with the wants and needs from their children.
My four year old son loved it! So unique, creative and alot of fun!
My 6 year old son just had a blast with his school trip. They keep the place clean and neat for sure and making the slime was terrific. The instructor had incredible patience with the class. Props to him. Great time. Definitely planning to go again!
Took my son for a field trip and the staff was amazing! Exhibits were so much fun! My 4yo and I simply had a blast! Amazing hands on museum!

Very nice place both for learning and fun! Great place for families that want to spend time together. I like that most of the activities are not just limited for kids, adults/ parents can do the same thing as the kids. Our scout group had an overnight stay at the museum and we all had the best time having the whole museum to ourselves!

Took my 2 year old grandson, we both had fun. So many things for kids of all ages to do and touch. We spent 1.5 hours there until he had enough fun before his nap time. We could have easily spent more time, but he's still pretty little. He loved the rice archeology dig and the water flow area.
A great place to explore and discover. There are lots of hands-on demonstrations and activities for kids to try out, each offering a fun and intuitive introduction to a scientific concept.
I don't know that the features rotate or get updated often, so it's not likely a place to return to frequently. But I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't been before.
A downside to many locations in this area is that lunch options can be sparse on the weekends.
We always have fun, prices are reasonable. Parking is horrid, we have an small SVU and it's a nightmare to park and be able to get kids in and out of carseats without hitting the cars beside us with our car doors.
My son loves this place. We spend about 4 hours here when we go. He learns a lot and has tons of fun!
Impression 5 used to be a rather interesting place 20 years ago... Now it's more of a child's day care... Not worth the cost of admission!
We've been here too many times to count, so clearly we love it. There's something for all ages, I even find new things to check out. The water area and the light room are favorites for my kids these days, now that they're outgrown the awesome toddler room. The yearly pass is a no-brainer especially considering it gets you into other Children's museums and science centers around the US and even world.
Affordable place to take your kids to learn about science. Hands on activities like bubbles, a light room, and giant teeth for a dental display! Also-- discounted prices if you are a SNAP participant!
My daughter is 18 months and loves it there. Letting her free in the little people room is our favorite part! There's so many things to keep her occupied! While I do not use the program, I appreciate how you have lower rates for families on assistance. It's great to give all kids an opportunity to have fun there.
So glad Lansing has a place like this still. It is my son's favorite place, and was mine as a child. Still just as cool.

We visited here and our 3 year old had a blast! Lots of hands on activities for kids. I personally loved the water flow tank and bubble making.
Really cool hands on science plave for kids. My 2 & 4 year old sons had a blast! Had a lot of different things to do. Bigger/better than I expected when we first got there. Wish they had a Cafe that sells food/drink. Very fun, will be back.
First time visit today and loved it! Traded up for a membership!

Excellent place to take the kids,has a lot of interactive and fun science displays.
Lots to do...however, the staff wasn't engaging. A lot of the stations needed some explanation and overall it was chaotic. The bathroom was an absolute nightmare. I alerted the staff to the mess, but no one went to clean it the few hours we were there. There's was toilet paper everywhere. Only 3-4 stalls and one was clogged full of waste with little kids still running in to use it. It was just ok..

Impression 5 has undergone a huge transformation in recent years. Significant investments made by sponsors in the community has made the museum a treasure in Lansing. The renovations are fantastic and the new exhibits are unique and build onsite by the museum staff. Definitely worth going too see with young children. It is interesting even if you don't have kids too.

It's not JUST a fun place to take the kids (or grandkids); this is good for kids of ALL ages! I can almost guarantee you'll learn SOMEthing if you go. Oh, and they're the closest Lansing drop-off site for Dart s styrofoam recycling program, too. Who knew?
My toddlers had a great time in the toddler room. It's great that it is a closed off area with slides and water activities. We will definitely be going back so that they can play again.
This place has a great mix of activities for kids of all ages. Lots of variety in the exhibits, and you can have fun even if you've been more than once.

Fantastic place to bring youngsters - and adults - for hands-on learning play. Each exhibit has a brief explanation and example, then try your hand at it. Did you know you can pick up cetain finely ground breakfast cereals with a strong magnet? Raincoats provided for the messier stuff.
Had a great time with my grandchildren. Haven't been there since I was a kid! Just as amazing as I remembered.
Just as it was when I was a kid. There's a few exhibits missing, but the new ones are even better! Great place to take the kiddos.

Wonderful time, I didn't expect to stay as long as we did. The kids enjoyed ALL of the activities such as the bubble area where you try to put yourself in a bubble. The shopping area where you get to "shop" for healthy foods. They have a light section where you can learn how lights travel and work. Shooting paper and bottles to see how things travel and how far. But by far their favorite was the water room. It was busy but they had a blast. They have benches periodically to rest. But remember if your kids like water to bring a towel and change of clothes.
Fun place & especially on a rainy Saturday afternoon! My grand daughter is still talking about it!!
Nice, fun place for kids. Has a smaller fun section for smaller children. The water tables is a fav area of ours!
