We adore IKEA. The only drawback is the store staff in customer service. They are so lazy! Yesterday my daughter had helpfully noted all the products she wished to buy to make for easier locating. However, there were three items she couldn't find so used the store finder wherein a message gets sent to the customer and staff and the customer collects it from customer service. Upon doing so my daughter, having approached customer service, was informed that she had to go back round to try to find the items herself and if she couldn't then she was to grab a member of staff. What a complete joke! There were three of them there at customer service, standing having a chat, and upstairs there were a further five staff sitting at computers having a laugh and a chat with one another. I'd like to say they were just enjoying their jobs but the place was busy and they clearly weren't assisting anyone. My daughter ended up without her desired items as they weren't on display and the racks available don't clearly show what's on them.
We love IKEA but most of the staff at the customer service area are lazy lumps. What it is to be paid for standing around having a chat with your mates, leaving customers to wander around aimlessly.

I like IKEA for the furniture but I also like their cafe and it was a real pity that they did away with the little cafe bar they had set up in the Straton store for the want of slightly more seating. I was there yesterday and as on previous occasions I still ask that question. Disappointing.

IKEA is great Simple, practical, well-designed solutions for the home at reasonable prices. The restaurant is excellent too! Buses are limited on a Sunday. Make sure you don't miss the last bus back into Edinburgh!

Wanted two off these firm mattresses for the bed frames I was going to buy but I was told No!! You cant have them as they are on the shelve above the one that they should be on! Eh? The isle is the entrance into the stock room and could be closed off at this end so no shoppers could enter. I was told you can buy the frames but would need to call the store and come back for mattresses!! What's the point off checking online for stock, making the journey, then being told you can see, touch it but NO you cant have it!! Keep your beds.

Not busy for a change. I have not visited since last year. So quite a few changes going on atm. Areas screened off reorganisation. Not sure if I am keen on the new look. But will be going back again soon when the work should be finished. I did get everything I needed though. Coffee/tea mugs have shrunk! Still excellent value in restaurant.

Liked the shopping experience, but the cafe is a disgrace, was there with two of my young granddaughters and couldn't get a seat for greedy cheeky people sitting drinking free tea and no food in sight at their table, and so many other tables cluttered with dirty dishes

The product range could do with more of an update and the for in s cheap but still over priced considering the quality in the foodhall upstairs, although much better value at the hot dog stall. I would appreciate cheerier service from the staff too

Great place to get household goods. Would recommend their glasses and cutlery. Also like their carpets. Am not particularly interested in their furniture since the ones I bought in the past have not stood the test of time.
The food and drinks hall near the exit is well worth a visit.
Nice big hotdogs. Also like their Scandinavian fruit beverage and linonberry jam.

Staff very friendly. Food ok. Plenty parking. Our refill teas during the week if you're a family card holder.. (thats the only reason why i put 4 stars)And take it from me. You need the free tea refill because you can spend all day in this shop.

I have recently had a few poor experiences in the cafe and have found the store to often be in a state of disarray. Ikea is what it is we will continue to pick up a few things here a couple of times a year.

Quality. Well laid out compared to others. Gets very busy on weekends as do they all. Style and look of the large item furniture suits my tastes but not so the small ornament or soft furnishings whose colour seems rather odd to me personally. Food is great as you collect it but invariably cold by the time you sit to eat it.

It's a regular IKEA! Big place, plenty of parking, and the usual restaurant, cafe and hotdog stand to keep fed during the journey.

Staff seem friendly, and they seem to have everything in stock (though it's always worth checking first online). It's open nice and late on weekdays. Going at a more unusual time can beat the queues!

We've yet to have any issues with the various shelves and furniture we've purchased. They've always been great on returns though.

Ikea is a great place to shop. Staff are pleasant and very helpful. Theres a great variety of goods at very reasonable prices if youre happy to build it yourself of course. If you are hungry there is also good food to enjoy, however dont expect to get it quickly! We had a 20 minute wait in a very long queue just to get served. Not so good if you have hangry children! Overall.....not bad though.

Why do I still go to IKEA?..it invariably makes me rant! Patted myself on the back...into IKEA bang on 1000 pre Saturday madness. Out by 1030, with everything I wanted. An absolute first and a vast improvement on Glasgow! Only to discover that in Edinburgh you cannot take a trolley to the car!!!! I'm on my own...so what to do? The young man looking after the trolleys suggested leaving it there and driving my car up? So who's responsible for it should something go missing? Not happening. I packed it all up and lugged it out...thankyou Ikea for discriminating against single shoppers in Edinburgh.. I'm going back to Glasgow...when I feel brave enough to face the empty shop again!

I think IKEA has lost it's way a bit. There was a disappointing kitchen and household department - not very inspiring for kitchen items. But it is still very good for cheap picture frames and candles and it's got rainy day appeal if you are bored! Cafe still as good as ever.

Not good, a member of staff was quite abrupt when I asked where a product was, then when he found it for me he walked away shaking his head, apparently I should have used the 8 digit number under the bar code to check the number on the price ticket

Does what it says on the tin, even more when you do some research online and just go and try the options and pick your best. They deliver for 25 quid in a couple of days or you can hire a van from there if you bought more than your car can handle. And they have decent food if you ever get hungry.

All times favourite for a functional furniture.

All times favourite for a functional furniture.
Been there few times over last few weeks after moving into new place.

The pick up warehouse is a bit further of the main shop and really for large car or delivery is needed. But returns are dead easy and can be done with no questions asked pretty much.
