Mama Mia was great! Wonderful facilities and performance! Great first musical to take my aspiring broadway star to!
One of my favorite places in the world. So many good memories here and it s always an amazing time - even the slow Shakespeare plays haha!
Saw Music Man. Well done. A very enjoyable evening.
Fantastic acting, singing and overall performance. I was not a fan of theatre until I went here. We now buy season tickets.
Revised: Attended the performance of Macbeth... enjoyed it tremendously especially the witches! Everyone was talking about them after the show.
Sadly however I have to disagree with a management policy - They continue to seat patrons after the show has started. This makes no sense at all. Why disrupt the experience of several hundred people who got there on time by having a volunteer take couples to their seats when they arrive as much as 30 minutes late.
Everyone should be in their seats when the play starts or wait until the intermission to be seated. No exceptions! Send out an email and post some signs to let everyone know that this is the company's policy and stick with it. This isn't a Jr. High assembly. This is a professional organization. Let's run it like one .
Amazing Outdoor venue. Beautiful setting on the Boise River with the Foothills in the background. Interesting plays presented by talented actors. A Boise icon celebrating its 42nd season.
What a great opening night. The show must go on even with a little bit of rain. Saw Taming the Shrew, just great the actors made it fun and entertaining. Must see.
Location is amazing, sunset behind the audience and outdoor view as a scenery.
the show was great for the audio was lacking. the high notes were painful and distorted like the volume was too high.
Great outdoor amphitheatre, with plenty of trees surrounding it, along the Boise River. This is the place to go if you love the theater. You can sit in chairs, chair with tables that they provide, or sit on the hillside with a blanket that you brought along, the best part about going there, you can bring your own food and beverage, what ever your heart desires to drink or eat.
It is always so much fun! They have a wide array of different plays each season. While they do cover Shakespeare, they explore other varities of theatre as well. The location is breathtakingly beautiful and makes the experience even more amazing because of it.
This is the best part of my summer every year. The plays are great and the actors are so talented. I just love going and seeing all the plays and bringing a picnic. The food in the cafe is also excellent and good quality. The Idaho Shakespeare Festival is truly an Idaho gem.
One of the great things about Boise. Excellent venue with great plays under the stars.
Hands down one of the finest things you can do in Boise on a summer night. Such an amazing and talented group of performers. Every show is always amazing. You can bring in your own picnic and drinks. Would reccomend to each and every person in town, whether visiting or a local.
What an absolutely delightful experience! A true northwest gem!
Wonderful, fun, professional, outdoor theater. We go often and have never been disappointed. Not a bad seat anywhere even on the hills.
Friendly staff. Great size venue. Loved the Million Dollar Quartet.
Bring your own food and eat and drink while watching great theater? What's not to like? The seats on the hill and grass are cheapest, but you'll want to invest in some low-sitting chairs specifically for this. You can rent some from them, but I'd bring a pad or blanket since they're wooden and not the most comfy.
Wonderful place to spend an evening. Mama mia was wonderful
I've been coming here 16+ years. Never used to be so full of Californians but it's still fun.
Loved it! Can't wait to go back. Super cute great for date night!
All the actors did such a spectacular job, and the venue is beautiful.
First time there and watched MISERY, the facility is amazing and the show was great quality. I would recommend to anyone.
Just an awesome place and community. There are lots of places to sit around the pond before you go into the theater. The show was totally sold out and for good reason! Bring a light jacket because it gets a little chilly after the second act.
Great theater at its best. Agatha Christie's play A Witness For The Prosecution was FABULOUS.
Fabulous performances... Top notch #idahoshakespearerocks
We have seen several plays here. They are always well done. We love the venue and performances
A must experience for Treasure Valley theater lovers.. I have been a member for 30 plus year; always awesome shows. I am never disappointed!
Awesome venue! Good location and awesome performance.
First visit and fabulous show and location. We will be back.
Absolutely wonderful show ..... Million $ Quartet....and a great evening over all. Job well done by the staff and volunteers.
Fantastic venue for wonderful theater. It's all in the shade so it's cool on even the hottest of days, and the food at the cafe is delicious too.
Beautiful Setting. Great food and wine. Shows are phenomenal!
A must do in Boise Idaho. Wonderful even on a cold rainy evening in June.
A pretty quiet morning. What a loss COVID is reaping. ISF is such a community treasure .
Always love an evening at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. Lovely venue, friendly staff and fabulous performances.
Momma Mia was spectacular, we loved every moment! The atmosphere was perfect, and the acting was way better than we expected!
Great. Presentation ! Mamma Mia
Was fabulous.
Really fun and entertaining! Bring a blanket and a bottle of wine.
It was pretty good! The food there was tasty but to over priced.
Great actors, wonderful set up and plays; thank you for the wonderful time and experience tonight.
We love the Festival! Amazing troup, beautiful outdoor theater, and delicious food. Great date night option!
Very enjoyable evening great venue nice you can bring in your own food or buy there that you have a choice
Last night I watched, The Million dollar Quartet, the final production for the season at Idaho Shakespeare festival, is not to be missed. It's a musical treat, a lesson of American history and the birth of rock and roll. Only for two more weeks! The tickets are very affordable, the ambiance is magical, you will be so glad you went. I'd love to go again.
Fantastic organization for our community. They also have a variety of shows for different t audiences.
Buying tickets over the phone was easy. Staff was very nice and thorough.
Gift certifications bought during Christmas for the upcoming season make great gifts.
I love coming here because of the layout of the seating and the great plays!
Lovely grounds, solid entertainment, great place to meet family and friends for a picnic and to enjoy the show.
Hunchback was a Broadway-quality production. Actors were outstanding. Setting is perfect. Really enjoyed it.
Loved the arena like outside ambiance. Wish I could go more often.
Wonderful, fantastic, superb, talented, entertaining, A NIGHT UNDER THE STARS! If you want a night out and remember it always...here's your place!
The finest in production and the best outdoor stage. We love being season ticket holders!
The setting and atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for the talented actors and crew!
I purchased 4 tickets for the "And then there were none" for my older kids birthday present on July 10th. When we got to our table there were two complete strangers sitting there. Now this would have been at least understandable IF there weren't other table empty, but there were. Even the ushers sitting us were taken back a bit. This was a big deal to me as I have never had two of my three kids together for a long long time. I am very disappointed and will think twice about doing this again.
Amazing! Fun, fun, fun! BYOB/BYOF(food). If you can get tickets, go!
It's always an enjoyable experience! The facility is very nice and clean. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I've never been to a show I haven't enjoyed. The production is professional and a spectacle to watch. I'll be continuing to patron the Shakespeare Festival for years to come.
Best show I have seen in a long time . Million dollar quartet.
Always try and go one or two times per season. If you haven't been, it's a lot of fun. And if you get hillside seats, get there early. Best spots go quick.
This was my first time at the Festival and it was amazing! It is a great little setting with good and alcohol available. You can also bring your own food and drink as a group. It can be a little pricey for tickets, but the acting is very good and the atmosphere make it worth it. Leaving after the show takes a little bit as you leave with the rush of people.
There is never a play I do not enjoy. It is imediately apparent how much time goes into practice, set design, and more. I would recommend seeing a show here, it's so much fun I no longer enjoy indoor plays.
My husband and I attended the closing night of "And Then There Were None." Let me start out by stating the venue was beautiful, the staff was courteous and helpful, the play was entertaining, the cast of characters were very talented, the desserts were decadent, and the patrons were courteous. However, the sound system was virtually non-existent, except for when the record on the gramophone was played. We overheard complaints from patrons all around us, as well as in the chair areas and some box seats. There was a couple seated next to us who expressed their lack of hearing concern to someone on staff after the first act, but it appeared to never be addressed as the sound did not get any better throughout the rest of the play. Although I certainly have read the book and knew the plot, my husband walked out of the event with the conclusion that everybody died and wasn't sure what they had done to deserve it. Honestly, I feel that some good will gesture should have been made, i.e., a discount or even free tickets for a future event. All in all, I would have loved to have given more than three stars in my review, but the lack of being able to hear the play prohibits me from doing so.
Beautiful venue, photos don t do it justice. There is a lot of variety in the shows here so try to do your research first - some of the shows aren t for everyone. The Shakespeare cafe s food is very good, if you don t have time to make your own. A local treasure.
Went to see the Million Dollar Quartet . Exceptional!! Myself and my 14 year old daughter had a great time. If it wasn t the last weekend for the show we would ve gone back with my husband!
Such a fun outing for a date, a gathering of friends, and often for the family as well. We re season ticket holders, and it s so worth every dime. I love that we can pack a picnic and spend time in the shade before showtime, and the acting company has been outstanding since we started coming four years ago.
The plays are great, excellent actors. The biggest downside is the inebriated audience. I had season tickets in 2015, 2016, and 2017. During that time I've had people stumble into me, lean forward and talk to friends inches away from my face, kick my seat, and defecate themselves. Again the plays and actors are great but the house is doing nothing to curb the drunkenness. This year we decided to only go to one play and get a box seat to prevent the audience from ruining the experience - there was a hornet's nest inside the railing.
Awesome show, never a bad seat in the venue. Love you can bring your own goodies!!
Beehive was a hit! The staff and others attending the show were courteous and friendly. A great time!
Idaho Shakespeare is one of Boise's best summertime outdoor entertainment activities. The facility continues to be improved as the venue gains popularity. Great way to get outdoors and see some theater at the same time!
For maximum fun, bring a picnic, wine and a snack to share! Hillside general admission seats go fast so make sure to get there early to stake your claim.
