I been living in Alberta for 7 years. So the 213 pension is not a viable option. I called the pension plan office to get transfer paperwork to transfer my pension to something more economical, local and viable... so they told me to email them and I did.. so 2 weeks later I called them back to ask where the paperwork is. They told me they have a full 60 days to send it

Absolutly one of the most awful places to try and get more information...and consider joining...I call several times over the past 3 dat I'm a TQ low voltage electrician and was interested in joining...they only have 1 dispatch Mandeep and I could not get a straight answer from him.... So I called back with details on the job but now I couldn't reach him... After countless attempts...you would think they would have an organizer to help someone new to that local...I could understand 1 or 2 time even 3 but the dispatch ducks out at 230pm and there is Absolutly no one there that has any clue of prevailing wages even dispatch didn't know exactly... Real frustrating looking for work is hard enough without people hanging up on you! On a further note after being hung up on because the initial lady that answered was real smart and didn't really provide any help.... I called her on it and she's the one that hung up.... Mandeep then tried to confront me about it....SHE HUNG UP ON ME MAN AND I DONT HAVE TO EXPLAIN TO YOU ANYHOW....after that he told me if I don't leave a message during business hours then I won't get help...the guy was Absolutly useless couldnt even find the add on indeed which was clearly posted 16 days ago... After all this because I'm a member of local 46 in Kent and its Canada I thought I was concidered a newbie but I'm not to IBEW bc im a local 46 member!!! Err there suppose to be your brother...so why don't they act like it!

I always leave the pension and benefits side of this place with a sour feeling.. They are very snarky and short tempered with me, and I make a specific effort to speak calmly and respectfully. They are the gatekeepers to our union members' benefits, but act like we are a massive inconvenience when we go in to try and clarify what paperwork needs to be submitted and how, so we can actually recieve those benefits. I have never raised my voice there or over the phone and have always taken the "I'm sorry, thats my fault, how can I fix that for next time?" route if there's ever an issue. I still get a sharp and unpleasant answer. This kind of tempermental behavior does not represent our union community values, and it makes me sad that other hardworking, polite people have to be treated like that. The main front desk has always been good to me, and for that, this review got 3 stars. I love working for this union and supporting our trade members in all walks of service, but this hiccup is truly a problem, and something needs to change :(

Beware of the EJTC. They are lazy, rude and incompetent. In addition to paying hundreds of dollars in union dues, I lost about $500 in wages because the EJTC wouldn't send my company an email saying that I had fulfilled all my hours for year one (and thus was entitled to a significant amount of back-pay). It took seven months for the EJTC to process my information after their hostile takeover in the first place.

No as a doctor I m not normally for any of these crazy hippie commune nonsense, but these beautiful, effervescent, delicate electricians have changed my heart.
