They have a complimentary pickle bar which includes pickles prepared different ways, pasta salads, potato salad & more. Good food, nice portions of breakfast, lunch, dinner & desserts, nice variety... an overall fav to get a good bite to eat.

The epitome of a Jewish Diner. This place is always jam-packed on a weekend so plan accordingly. The portions of a throwback delicatessen with an open salad bar is what adds to the old time charm that makes Hymie's one of my favorite places to eat in the Philadelphia area.

Cheesesteak was pretty dry and oy vey omelette was a light on the feta. Also had to wait a while to check out; only 1 cashier doubling as bakery person. But we love this place so we'll be back.

This please was so yummy. Went to grab lunch for a resident of mine and his team. The place was packed. I was so happy I ordered ahead. I could see how large the actual space was because there was so many people. I barely seen where I needed to got for pick up. That being said, I had to grab one for myself to see what all the interest was. I wasn't unsatisfied at all. It had the perfect amount if everything. Super meaty if you're into that like myself. Will definitely return.

It was very crowded when we got there but the service was excellent the people treated us very very nice the food was rather good A little few things that they forgot on my sandwich I was supposed to have tomato and lettuce didn't have it two of us ordered sweet potato french fries mine were beautifully done the friend next to me her to me burnt so it wasn't like consistent but I would go back it's a little noisy little chaotic but it was still good we went with 10 friends and had a great time

For the third time in approx. 4 months we have picked up completely wrong food orders when ordering by phone. We live over a half hour away, and it is extremely difficult to drive back and return the orders. After the last mishap (today), i called and spoke with the manager named Dave concerning the wrong orders, and was treated very rudely. It seemed that Dave didn't really believe that this occurred, and basically said to check my order more carefully before leaving the restaurant. Now, after reading numerous reviews that are similar, I see that this happens quite often at Hymies. I am tired of spending over $30 for 2 sandwiches, and ending up with not what we ordered. Dave is a disgrace, and I plan to take this up with the owner. I am tired of their extremely poor customer service, and the way that they handle their mistakes.

Good food, but poor even terrible service

Good food, but poor even terrible service
We would order a $100.00 plus order at least once/month. Twice, they messed up, although they had read back to me on the phone, the correct order. When we got it back, gluten-free bread was not on my sandwich (I have celiac) and my sister's salad, no cheese please, had cheese (she is lactose intolerant). Returning over an hour later, after having called, the owner said he did not believe me (I brought back the wrong sandwich) and refused to refund, saying he is proud of himself.
I owned restaurants for years, and would have gone out of business had I ran my places like he runs this one, busy or not!

Outstanding! Great deli. Had a hot pastrami sandwich. Pickle bar. Was a glutton and had a chopped chicken liver on rye. For dessert a piece of Jewish apple cake. Can't wait to go back. Have been back. Had the same meal. Love the food.

An old fashion Jewish deli who makes their own corned beef and pastrami (very fresh and lean). Best Corned Beef Special in the Philly area. There is almost always a crowd especially during lunch.

Corned beef good...liver knish bad..need to incorporate a few more basic ingredients, namely diced onion. Considering everything is packaged in a pastry shell, the knish should not be offered for sale in an individual plastic container under refrigeration...the condensation kills it..sell em out of the case, just saying.

Really stacked corned beef sandwich - bigger than anything in my hometown Atlantic City area. And, the brisket piled high between two potato latkes with gravy and apple sauce is simply special. Deli restaurants like this are a dying breed, so do yourself a flavor and try this place!

I have always had good experiences when I've eaten at Hymie's. Today I bought some things for take out. One of them was their homemake bread pudding. There were no ingredients listed on the package. To my dismay the pudding was made with bananas, which I cannot eat. Fortunately, I have a friend who took it, however, the treat I was looking forward to was not to be. Please put ingredients on your products.

Great! We live in the area and have tried all of the delis. After trying them all, hymies is the only spot we go to. Clean, smells fresh (not stinky/stale smelling like a place down the street) and the owner and staff are friendly and welcome customers! Hymies every time it's deli time!
