This is a great park: plenty of trails - both dirt and paved, downhill and cross country skiing, playground equipment, and a nature center! I think they may have geocaching too, but don t quote me on that

I really had a blast here with my grandkids, who I could pull away, to go home!!

Good family fun skiing down hill and good food and bus service to and back from your free parking

"Shutes & Ladders" Park is pretty awesome! Great spots to have a picnic. Definitely check this park out if you haven't.

Gotta loves chutes & ladders, at least for kids under 10 y.o.

Snowshoing was a geat way to spend the morning. Very reasonable rental fee of $5. Plenty of varied terrain ... even saw deer.

This is free to the public is part of the Three Rivers Park system and do the kids just love it.

Huge playground equipment for kids of all ages. It was very crowded, however.

Amazing. Maybe the best in the city. Great for younger and older kids.

The kids love chutes and ladders park. Also nice big umbrellas in the seating area, and a concession stand with indoor restrooms.

Very cool place. The trails are in great condition and the hike was easy to do with a 2 and 4 year old. The trails also have many switchbacks so if you need to cut it short you can.

Nice fishing pier that can accommodate quite a few people.

Very nice park. Kids had a blast. Not exactly for real little kids but there are still things for all kids and there's a little water misting area. Definitely would go back

Hylands Hills ski area is a great place for kids (or adults) to learn how to ski. If you are an accomplished skier I'd suggest going elsewhere. The runs are short & not very steep. My 5 year old can comfortably ski all of the runs. The Chalet is updated & a great place to warm up & grab something to eat/drink - cafeteria style food. You can bring your own food/drinks. There is a small paid parking lot at the base of the hill & a loading/unloading area or you can park up the road & ride a free shuttle.

Chutes and Ladders is awesome. Qe go several timea a year. Its free and sorta li2kr a huge outdoor McDonald's play area. Most approriate for ages 5 - 12 (in my opinion).

Fantastic place for kids and adults. Outstanding outdoor playground for kids in any age and many grill places around.

Super fun place to hangout with your kids. They have misters, lake rental and great picnic tables by the lake

Great place to ski. Very affordable. The skip work special, rental and skis for $40. The chalet is one of the nicest you will find in midwest. The hills are very small, short runs, but very well kept. The staff was great, the views are nice, you don't have to drive far being it is in Bloomington. It might be best kept secret in Metro for recreation. Great for small kids and beginners. Not so great for experienced skiers.

What a great place for XC skiing. The grooming is always top notch and the trail is great for all levels of skiers.

Really fun park for kids but you can get hurt a lot.

One of the best lakes in town. Very beautiful. Specially the sunset and the moon watch are awesome. Not too many people on the weekdays

Lots of fun for toddlers and elementary age kids! They have little water sprayers for hot days. They sell ice cream and have indoor bathrooms.

They have a huge jungle gym and playground that my kids. On hot days, they turn on sprinklers. The park has a lot of walking and biking trails.

Attended a wedding here. The building was a nice contemporary space. Huge and open and high ceilings. I liked that they had a buffet just for kids food. My biggest gripe was that the ceremony was outdoors and the lawn was soggy. Puddles everywhere and my shoes were soaked. I would have worn boots if I'd known. All the brand new construction and they didn't drain the landscaping properly. The skiing hill looked fun and the other amenities of the park look nice. I would like to visit and explore more soon.

Literally the best park ever. If there were a Platonic Form of a playground, this is it (except for its materiality). Stuff for all ages. Sand pit, slides, crazy rope gym. Fairly common to lose the kids, but there is only one way in or out, so keep your eyes on the gate and you're golden.

There is a legit big foot around these parts watch out!

My kids and I are all about the nature center. It's free (please donate to support!). They have live turtles, snakes, and salamanders. As well as 2 or 3 birds including a little hawk. There are viewing rooms where you can sit and constantly watch squirrels. I see a lot of turkeys doing this. They have some bees! There are interactive playstations, puzzles, and books. They constantly do kids nature programs. There is a butterfly station outside and also walking trails. The nature center area including the outside has 2 gyms and at least 3 or 4 stops for Pokemon players.

Nice park, lots of trails, clean bathrooms, good snack bar.

Best XC Sking in the Twin Cities. They make their own snow and have a wonderful variety of trails. Can be a bit crowded on weekends if there is not enough natural snow for other parks, but still, you can't beat it.

Really big and nice park. They haven't had their sprinklers turned on and it can get alittle crowded but go place to take kids

It is the biggest kids play area . Nice place spend 2 hours with family

Wonderful park with many options and different activities. We rented skis, the equipment was well maintained and waiting for us upon arrival. Eryone Is very respectful and friendly.

I wish we would have know about this place sooner. My 5 year old loves it. There is even area for my almost 2 year old to enjoy!

Kids love this place. The play area is amazing. Good place to have a barbeque or a birthday party. Usually too crowded on weekends.

A great place for a great day with family. Hiking, best playground, paddle boat rentals, and picnic sites... One of the best spots around!

Nice place to walk early in the morning. Long trail, lot of peace and beautiful on a rainy day. Please go if you're around bloomington.

This park reserve has been a favorite of mine since I was a child. From the amazingly large playground to the walking and hiking trails, Hyland Lake is a great place to spend a day exploring with the family.

Great hiking and an amazing play ground for kids, really fantastic.

One of our favorite spots to bring the kids when the weather is nice. Very large outdoor play park with enough equipment to handle ages from 2 to teen. Lots of slides, climbing, and other children to play with. All with one access point. However when coming with younger children you will definitely want to keep them in eyesight as it's usually pretty busy.

I liked the park very much. The children are delighted.

Had a ton of fun tagging monarchs and learned a lot. Even if we only really caught other bugs.

Changed but still good. Used to be one unit but not it's multiple connected by rope units. Small water things too so bring a pair of clothes or swimsuit and towel

Best cross country skiing snowmaking loop in the metro. Challenging terrain and always freshly groomed.

Wonderful park. So many things to explore. Lots of great paths, awesome playground. Nature center is great.
Sledding hill - not much of a hill! My only negative comment on this park is they list it has a 'sledding hill'. It does have a tiny hill, that is clear for sledding, but its only worth it if your kid is under the age of 6.

I try to get here with my kids to go to the Chutes'n'Ladders area; they love it and always have a great time.

What a fun park for kids - climbing, sliding, swinging, spinning, and "mist-"ers. This park has it all!

Lots of structures for the young ones to climb on and explore. A good range of difficulty/coordination for all ages. It was a little packed when we went, but there were like 4 birthday parties going on

The chutes and ladders park is a great activity for kids of all ages.

Such a variety of things to do with or with out kids

Excellent place for a walk or a run over the trails through the woods or around the lake. Good cross country ski trails in the winter with manufactured snow to keep them open longer.

Three Rivers knows how to manage parks. Beautiful trails, facilities, nature center, play grounds and water rentals. Best park system anywhere.

A real nice park with good hiking and biking trails.

Took our grandkids xc skiing today. Good base. Some ice in some of the classic ski tracks in places but not surprising this time of year. Beautiful area, several ski trail options for both classic and skate skiing. Many options for skiing rentals (skis, boots and poles) and some lighted trails for night skiing, too.

I visited Hyland for a wedding reception and I was very impressed with their facilities. The reception was in a huge room with high ceilings and a wall entirely filled with windows. It was absolutely gorgeous.

Awesome play area near a lake. Beautiful setting. Huge playground and air conditioned bathrooms with a little snack stand with inside and outside access. Plenty of parking and well kept trails.

A very place close to nature in the vicinity of the city of Minneapolis.

Best play structures in the entire city + burbs! Only downside was that there were lots of bees. Tons of kids around but no one stung thankfully.
