Very nice place to stay. Customer service was very good also. Elevators were slow during peak hours, which is understandable. Breakfast buffet was pretty standard for a hotel like such. Great location being about 100 yards from main shopping strip and another walk from there across the street to Waikiki Beach. Views were nice from the penthouse level even if they are a sliver-view between buildings. I would stay here again.

1 star off for the super slow elevator, otherwise it's a great place to stay: free breakfast & wifi, a view of the beach, a desk in the room who needs a quick catch up on work, comfortable and spacious room with a 3 seater couch to coffee table.

At first, our experience was not ideal, but the hotel more than made up for it. We got there after a long day of traveling to find the hotel had overbooked, and had no room for us. They proceeded to refund our party $200, took the night we couldn't stay off our bill, found us another room at a near by hotel (which was more expensive)

We stayed here for 9 nights from 20 May 2018 and we had an ocean view room on the 14th floor- we were very pleased with this and it was within our budget. It was a nice location-near to beach but not too noisy. The staff were excellent and a special mention to Heidi on the front desk who was always friendly and enquiring if everything was ok with our stay. The rooms were very well cleaned each day and the bed was super comfy. The balcony was larger that other hotels also. The pool area needs updating. As I have coeliac disease the breakfast only offered one cereal and some GF toast which was a bit limiting. But I also had issues with the most of Waikiki trying to find GF food.

Awesome greetings and help from the bald valet with the tattoos, Noel I believe was his name.. Out of everyone, he was the only one who made sure we wasn't on the slope in the driveway, he said "it's safer for your kids to be unloaded here" A+++++

Hotel staff is very nice. Rooms are pretty clean and the staff is responsive with requests.

However- the breakfast is completely miserable when there are large groups there. The dining area is unsuitable to host daily breakfasts for the number guests that it is intended to serve. Then- if you don't wish to eat in the dining area, they suggest using trays in your rooms to bring it back. ...then housekeeping doesn't touch those during their visit. It essentially ruined the experience each morning.

Decent rooms, but you pay a premium for the location. This is definitely geared for tourists. Do not expect much of anything except for the included breakfast.. Although now you have to be a Wyatt member for that. No good views no matter what they advertise, and the service was just OK.

Breakfast was good. Included scrambled eggs, oatmeal, fresh cut fruits, cottage cheese, plain yogurt, cereals, breads, juices, coffee, tea. Also offered hot steamed rice served with your choice of toppings - pickled baby cucumber slices, cubed tofu, Kim chee and hot miso soup. Combine all those together and you have a very tasty fulfilling meal.

Room was pretty spacious. We had 2 beds. Microwave and fridge in room at no additional charge. Only thing bad was nasty carpets. Bottom of feet turned black after walking on it for awhile. Other than that, decent hotel. Small outdoor pool by breakfast area on 3rd floor. Dominoes Pizza is right next door.

Hyatt Place is on a great location in Waikiki. Within a short walk to the beach, zoo, and many great restaurants and bars. The staff was friendly and informative and the rooms were always kept clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Solid economy-style family hotel. Free breakfast which is ok - 6:30-9:30 daily. Housekeeping staff very friendly and nice. Valet parking is $39 but there s a public car park across the road for $20/day.

Overall a pretty good hotel. Close to Waikiki beach and the stores along there, also Honolulu Zoo and the aquarium. Rooms were clean. Service was pretty good; some very friendly staff, some average. Breakfast includes eggs, toast, assorted fruit, with almost all days having sausage or bacon. We had a room with 1 king-size bed and 1 sofa-bed. Sofa-bed is your typical sofa bed not as comfortable as regular hotel beds, but each bed came with its own TV.

They have a somewhat scammy mandatory $15/day destination fee, that gives you $5/day credit for hotel snacks, and unlimited local calls.

The cheapest parking we found was kitty-corner from the hotel, for Waikiki Banyan. It was $30/day or $110/week, and note it was cash only.

We happened to stay during a potential hurricane, where many stores and shops shut down for 2 days. The hotel handled it pretty well, they still provided full breakfast but minimal room service unless requested.

When you check out (was 11am) they let you leave your luggage secure at the front, if you have a late flight and want to walk around for a while without carrying it.

Room is spacious and great. Hot breakfast is very good. Pool is small but ok...on the 3rd floor. Location is great as it is 2 blocks to Waikiki beach. I couldn't give 5 star because the front desk is very slow. When checking in there were 5 staff and only 1 was checking folks in. Every stop at the desk during my stay was slow, but when I got up to the desk, the staff was nice. I had a late flight so I was able to use a hospitality suite to shower and change after going to the beach.

The location is near the end of the strip but great for quality walks in the area. It is pretty old and so far, I have always found something needing maintenance or updating. Price is great for the area, one of the best. The staff is good. More of a value hotel, not quality. And I have platinum status.

Room was nice. Good location near Waikiki Beach. Breakfast wasn't anything special, but they have a fairly large selection, which is nice. Bathroom was a little cramped, and two elevators for a 20-story tower led to some crowds in the lobby waiting for them. But otherwise no complaints.

Staff are amazing and kind! The location is a minute walk to the beach, moped rental, food trucks and stores. They are very COVID-19 cautious offering bagged breakfast, room cleaning and limited amenities. I had an excellent trip!

I'm currently still at the hotel and it's OKAY. It's definitely not what I was hoping for. If I didn't have kids and didn't want to bite the bullet expense wise, I'd pack up and find a different hotel for the remainder of my stay.

Positives: The location is great. It's close to the beach, restaurants and shopping.

Negatives:
Cleanliness-is disappointing. "Due to Covid" they are not doing daily housekeeping, they offer to clean it every 4th day. Honestly this seems more like the hotel doesn't want to pay housekeepers because an employee could still go in and clean all rooms daily with no contact to guests, while guests are out. Not cleaning leads to several problems, 1st I'm paying thousands to be comfortable and pampered while on vacation. I didn't pack a vacuum nor should I have to scrub my own bathroom floor every night while on vacation, that is one of the perks to paying to go on vacation. I've requested to have my room cleaned several times during this stay, we'll come back to an unvacummed room, sand still all over the bathroom and entry way and the towels, garbage bags, tp and tissue that they delivered are left just thrown on the couch or outside our doorway in the hallway. 2nd-I'm assuming that due to the hotel not doing the daily room service guests are now leaving dirty towels and garbage in the hallways and by the elevators. I'm guessing that will lead to a very severe bug problem in the near future. Also the same piles of sand have been in the hallway for about 3 days now, they should probably vacuum the hallways EVERYDAY.

Complimentary breakfast-is microwaved breakfast sandwiches, an orange, a yogurt and a granola bar. The 1st 3 days this was okay for the adults, the toddlers will not eat breakfast sandwiches. After the 3rd day neither of us could eat another breakfast sandwich and opted to just take the oranges and granola bars as snacks. It'd be easy for the hotel to step up this service as well and offer wrapped muffins or prepackaged cereal.

Ceiling leaks-just in the foyer but still it suprised me that they choose not to remedy this issue.

Elevator's-be prepared to wait at times 5-12 minutes for the elevator to show up.

Wifi-is spotty. It works okay.

Note to hotel on how to remedy some of these issues: start providing actual room service everyday and clean the rooms and hallways daily.
Provide more kid friendly breakfast choices.

On a side note: The destination fee says it includes a canvas tote and 2 bottles of water. We haven't gotten that yet

Our stay at Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach was great! From the concierge to housekeeping, everyone was very nice and helpful! The balcony wasn t what we were expecting, and neither was the view. But the hospitality and location made up for the rest. Overall, great stay and Mahalo Hyatt Place!

Nice Hotel in walking distance to the beaches. There are different types of rooms available. We had a really nice and huge room with a wonderful view. But the service was the best. Friendly staff that did help in any kind of situation giving us a hospitality to shower as we already checked out.

Great staff, rooms are a good size and beds are comfy. The wifi speed varies depending how many people are using it but requires no authentication and works. The pool is where the breakfast is in the morning, which is decent too. The only downside to this hotel is when it's windy, make sure to have earplugs. It's loud due to the stairwell not being fully enclosed.

The only thing this hotel has going for them is the location. It seems people with special needs end up with rooms that are little more outdated and kinda dirty. The size of the room is ok...however...overall not worth the price. The breakfast was ok and the service was ok. Seems like the valet people were having some issues too. They were not that nice either.

Self parking and valet was always full so we had to park at the garage across the street. The garage cost $30 per 24 hours and they only accept cash. Thankfully the Hyatt was willing to reimburse us for the parking fee and the ATM fee since we had to withdraw cash. We also got a free room upgrade since they had sold out of the rooms we bought. The room is super nice and the beds are amazingly comfy. We really enjoyed breakfast by the pool, but I wish there was inside seating since it was raining on us while we were trying to eat. The hotel is only a few blocks from Waikiki Beach and shopping.

Rooms are a little small compared to other comparable hotels in the area. My sink is separated from the counter and the maid does not clean the glass in the shower so it is really spotty after a few days. Finally, I prefer staying further north in Waikiki. Still, you are in Hawaii so can't complain too much!

Location of around 10 minutes on foot from beach. The luxury of the lobby is inferior compared to the surrounding luxury hotels. The pool is a bit small. The room was clean but the effectiveness of the air conditioning was bad and the humidity was a little high. My bed was soft and my back hurts.

Pros:

Pros:
-Staff is very friendly
-$5 credit every day for your stay
-Free breakfast and wifi
-Nice view on mountain side if you're high up (floor 5+)
-Air conditioning is nice
-Close to the beach

Cons:
-Rooms are a bit stuffy on one side of building (ocean side?)
-Rooms aren't very large
-Bad view on bottom floors (4-)
-Rooms smell sorta flowery/bathroom cleaner

Overall it was a very good experience, there are definitely ways to improve, but it would probably involve paying for it.

Nice hotel, close to all the tourist sites. Very nice and helpful staff, good breakfast, decent happy hour specials. We did have an issue with our air conditioning unit only working some of the time and the hotel balcony was so small you couldn't walk by a chair. Overall, it was a pretty good value and located in the right area for our needs. Plus the bed was good!
