Humphrey's Restaurant Review

I had a dinner and concert package so the menu was restricted but I had the fillet steak and it was excellent. Good view of the Marina. Nice atmosphere.

Nice atmosphere but the food is a bit expensive as you would expect being located on Shelter Island.

Love the food prepared by the new chef! Beautiful view of the marina and the staff is very friendly. If you visit San Diego you must go to Humphreys. Oh yeah and don't forget to see a concert while you're there. Just saw Huey Lewis and the News what a party!

The amount of food that they had at their buffet was crazy. I had no clue where to start. Everything I ate was amazing. The service was fantastic!

Good food and atmosphere. Lots of large windows to see outside marina, etc.

It was so tasty. I'll return with my friends. The bill was appropriate for the quality.

Concert was great and after the concert dropped in at the lounge and great little band playing excellent end of the evening had a fabulous time

Outstanding brunch! Fresh seafood, omelets made to order, two carving stations along with a full dessert table. Many more items along with bottom champagne and mimosas.

Waited for an hour before my fiends food arrived (after complaining to the server once or twice). My food still hadn't arrived until after my friends were finished eating. We asked to see the manager... and no one could find him.

Overall, the place is great. Great views and venue. The food and service is usually very good, but is inconsistent. For instance, half the time, the hollandaise sauce is broken or flavorless. It seems to be an issue on Saturdays...

Go on a Thursday or Friday and ask for one of the tables that Joanne is taking care of. The food's great, but Joanne's personal engagement, her extensive knowledge of the menu, wine list, and beer menu are just the best! If Joanne's not available, ask for one of Tim's tables. He's funny, knowledgeable, and makes sure his customers get the best! I take friends here every time I'm in San Diego!

Lunch menu much improved from several months ago. Salmon sandwich with parmesan fries is delicious. Very good service.

Our traditional Christmas brunch. Was very good, but $75 per per makes this our last one.

Last night our party of four enjoyed a great dining experience which included the three course pre-fixe concert dinner package. Our dinners were all delicious and we were all very delighted and satisfied with the quality of the food but I want also give huge compliments to the staff especially our server, Lindsay. She was so much fun,so personable and so attentive. We asked her a lot of questions and she had all the answers,very knowledgeable and never seemed impatient or rushed. She has a great sense of humor and she shared a bit of her personal story which we loved. Three of the four of us are in the food service industry so we know what constitutes good service and Lindsay was top-notch! Also everyone from the cocktail server to the host staff, the bus staff and the awesome food runner were professional and very friendly. Thanks to all of you for a great night at Humphrey s!

The food was good. Reasonably priced and very flavorful. Admittedly, its a different flavor than I'm used to in the South, but flavorful nonetheless.
The music venue next door is a great time!

Sunday brunch is where it's at. It's not super cheap but it's affordable. The place is rad and I think you'll like it too.

Breakfast in San Diego is the best at Humphrey's. It is a little pricey, but worth it.

I had a really great experience here! I came for San Diego restaurant week and made reservations online, I did leave a note on the reso, to have seating by the window as my sister was visiting! The host took into consideration the note and had a seat ready! We had an early dinner but sometimes taking the extra step to look into reso notes is over looked! Our waiter was Joanne! She was a gem and explained every item as needed! Overall amazing experience, I enjoyed the seafood ceviche with the short ribs duo! &The vanilla brulee was delish!

Tranquil and classy. The view of the water and boats is beautiful. Food is delicious and nicely presented. Recently enjoyed an unhurried lunch and really liked their Salad Nicoise with salmon.

Came here for dinner and a free concert next door. Their food isn't the best for the price it's for. But it was good. Service was lovely, could of been better. I definitely love the concert next door. Busy and crowded night but it was fun.

Atmosphere & service was great. - Food, NOT so much (unless you enjoy undercooked - to "rare" meats/salmon, etc.).

Driven by this place 100 times never stopped in always heading to Nobu.

Well, those days are done with, first of all, I'm tired of going to Nobu and leaving like I need a slice of pizza.

Great place for lunch with a group. Very nice and attentive staff. The food was good and reasonably priced. Will definitely return.

Went here for a blues brunch and loved the entertainment but the service was some of the worst. After being told to seat ourselves at a counter, a server moved us because they had packed tables in so close together that she couldn't navigate the space with us there. Okay, reasonable. Sort of. We got a new waitress and she tried to move us back saying that we were ruining the view of the couple next to us. At this point, we had to get in the middle of the server wars and explain why we were just there and weren't allowed to sit there while people at BOTH tables were shooting us dirty looks. We felt totally unwelcome and if it weren't for the performance we would have left.
While the two servers duked it out off-scene we decided to move ourselves to a shady corner that was crowded with an extra chair facing away from everything and stare at a wall.
We were there 2 hours when we felt ready to leave but the server didn't come over for another hour. In the whole three hours we didn't get a refill of water until we asked for it with our check.
If we thought the food would make up for the welcome, we were mistaken. The buffet was big but so big that nothing was done well. My egg Benedict, for example, consisted of a barely toasted English, dried out slice of Canadian, poorly poached egg that was basically just the yoke, and no Hollindaise.

Went there for Sunday brunch. It was great and if you like seafood it was fantastic. It's a little pricey but with the seafood selection it was well worth it. Non seafood people will find plenty of good options. All in a nice setting.

Their brunch buffet was amazing. The service was perfect. New utensils and napkins every time we got up and our mimosas and coffee were never empty.

We ate there and after there meal we went and listened to the live music. Wife and I thought the food was amazing and bigger portions so I was full, a bit pricey I had the beef short ribs and wife had blackened shrimp, both were better than average in taste. The cost was about 30 per plate. Four stars for the cost of the plate and the music afterwards slowed as the night progressed. By midnight we were bored and left. Overall very nice evening.

Checked in after 11am said no room was available but they charged me ahead, been wain 3 hours now and when I call to ask why the room isn t ready they give me total attitude. I ve stayed at plenty of hotels in San Diego and have never been treated so badly before. They are rude and nasty. I will never stay here again.

Humphrey's is all about checking to see what bands are booked and then reserving a room overlooking their awesome venue. Then sit on your balcony and enjoy the show. Never been to their restaurant, though.

Great food and the view was cool the cajun onion rings were fantastic as was the chicken sandwich with goat cheese

Brunch is good, not a lot of food selections, you are paying for the view, which is still nice.

Excellent brunch, bottomless mimosas and great views

I thought it was a bit much to blast The Eagles on the P.A. outside as I left.

The food was amazing! I had the scallops, my husband the short ribs. Our server was amenable to substitute vegetables for the starchy carbohydrates. We came in without a reservation and were seated at a table with a spectacular view. Our friends arrived at the restaurant later in the evening after our suggestion to dine at Humphrey's and they were able to accommodate their party of 10 without reservations. They were ecstatic we had made the recommendation. We'll certainly return the next time we are in San Diego.

Have been here numerous times for the Sunday brunch. Food last Sunday was very good but there were no oysters. Waitress checked and said they didn't come in???? Are the oysters and fish from China, Taiwan etc.

Good food as far as hotel food goes. But it's still hotel food. The service here is really good and staff are friendly. This place gets an extra Star for the setting, being right over the water in the marina. Morning coffee at a window seat here is very pleasant. You can watch the cormorants fish right beneath you.

This the best location to vacation. Right next to the Marina. Everything is wonderful until you try to get some fun at.night. the bar a day before was handled by a great and experiment bartender. Today wednesday march 3 was different. Sloppy service. Lime for drinks were spoiled. Bartender was mire focus in chores for closing than attending the bar. But the music was gorgeous. In balance a great place that need more attention. .

I love the buffet here and the live music in the bar area!

Fantastic food, very intimate, overlooks docks. Great place to take your spouse. There's also a live band on the wknds at the bar.
