Great view, friendly staff, self serve chips and salsa. The stuffed avocado was amazing.

Great drinks - especially the Mexican Martinis. If you want the full experience make sure to sit outside.
Expect a wait - don't try parking in the direct restaurant lot for dinner, there is a satellite lot that you'll probably have to park and walk from.
Cool atmosphere, call ahead! Gets very cramped and busy!
Great happy hour when the weather is nice out. Awesome lake view, great drinks and the tubular tacos are amazing
Great location. Great view of lake. Always busy but has a great vibe. Reasonably priced considering view. Service is pretty consistent. Food portion is great value of price.
At first I was concerned about coming here, because of past experiences. I was actually happy and enjoyed the service, drinks, and food. Made our group ready for a great start to the Labor Day Weekend!.
Tried to put 3 and 5 yr old in direct sun light around 6 pm. Refused to allow us to sit in an open booth out of range of sun
Fantastic food. The view is nice as well, mainly from the outside seating and bar.
Good food, great drinks. The fish tacos were amazing.
The food was very basic. I've had way better. You def go for the view and the water. My drink was good. The queso was weird and the chips were stale.
Just being by the water makes this eatery one of the coolest in Austin. Good food, good prices
Wow, I really enjoyed those shrimp enchiladas - and I bet you will too!
Delicious food, great views of the lake. Always a good time here. Only downsides: often busy so there can be a wait. Also the bathroom is horrible so go elsewhere.
The location is great. The staff is nice. The food is good and not expensive.
Best chips and salsa anywhere , period! Location is one of the best in Austin for patio eating . Great place to take visitors to the city.
Very good food! Great service...and fantastic view of water.
My cousin took me here over the weekend and it was such a blast I enjoyed myself and then some. I may have had a little bit too much to drink but we had a great time the food was delicious the host was great and then I was right back on the water I love this location it s my new favorite.
Lovely lakeside ambience and food was also nice
They have a variety of drinks option... Will definitely recommend it and a must visit if you are in austin
I love the atmosphere. Having dinner off the lake. Everything on the menu is great!! Never disappointed.
Great atmosphere. Lakeside. If you re not from Texas, eat here... then go home.
Delicious food, great service, with a lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend the outside sitting for a lovely view. It was a little spicy (which is always great with me) and reasonably priced.
I wish I could give it 2 1/2 stars. I'm only basing this on bartender cleanliness, attentiveness, attitude, and knowledge. I give it both a "meh" and a "le sigh".
****** edit******
Moved it down to one star, "if I could give it 1 1/2." I decided to order food and try it out a bit. I was handed a rolled up silverware in a dusty napkin and a food crusted menu. I did ask if it was busy this morning and got a "meh shrug". I was handed the rolled silverware by a friendly waiter, the bartender was on his phone checking his Facebook, who also was checking on the bartenders tables for him.
He's not very busy and I'm watching him get on Facebook again. All this little stuff can be fixed with, "you got time to lean, you got time to clean.... Then chat up your patrons who wanna have a good time and tip you." Most of his drinks are frozen or premade, he has a barback for all his fruit prep. I have a feeling he's either new, or has been fired from another bar for just being a... For lack of a better phrase... A Doof, and somehow talked his way in.
So yes!!! Food!!! I had the veggie burger and it was decent. The patty had a good flavor, fell apart easy.... But hey... Knife and fork.
If you haven't been to Hula Hut, it presents as a cool setting on the lake with great drinks. For me, over the years, the quality of the food and service has steadily declined. Service borders on flat out unacceptable. The menu, once HH's strength, is tired and relatively tasteless. I had fish tacos with rice and black beans. It tasted like a microwaved TV dinner. It took 3+ requests to get refills on chips salsa and drinks, including an intervention by a hostess ( mgr.?) Austin has too many other dining opportunities for Hula Hut's management to tolerate this abysmal quality.
Nice outdoor tikki bar by the water. But rude bartenders and O.K service.
Really loved it. Such a good place to eat! Really enjoyed having dinner with family.
Great food and atmosphere was nice, but a bird pooped on me when we were in the enclosed porch
Foods generic. Price is kinda high for ok tasting food. Wouldnt go back. The mojitos were pretty good tho. I had the veggie enchiladas. I
Great for hanging out by the lake with friends , having drinks and enjoying great food! Plenty of fish and turtles to watch, and you can also take a break on the lake, pull up to the dock and park your boat to eat.
Great place to sit and chill. Watch the fish and turtles... Feed them chips!!
Funky and fun. Tuna tacos were the bomb. Margarita was just okay.
I would not want to go to this restaurant it was terrible but is it 2 1/2 hour wait
This place has great views. I think the wait is too long for mediocre texmex food. I waited 45 minutes to be seated then I waited half an hour for my appetizer. I end up getting a stuffed avocado and it was delicious, and worth the price in my opinion. I ended up ordering the surfer salad for my endent and was a little disappointed. It tasted like a side salad with a mediocre fish filet on it, totally not with $11.
Just go there for the drinks, if you're going to sit down and eat go eat somewhere else because there are other places which have faster, better, and filling food. Just get the stuffed avocado though, it's worth it.
Bad food, lousy service, I'm just the waiter don't know when your drinks will be ready
Good overall experience, food was ok and the view overlooking Lake Austin was awesome!
Fun place. Pretty long wait times on a Sunday afternoon, but great food!
Great location on the lake. Food was surprisingly good. Get the Hawaiian Fajita.
A Hawaiian + Mexican+ Texan fusion place with amazing views of the Colorado River. Usually parking is tough, there's wait during rush hour and they do offer take outs. Food is great at reasonable price, desserts are a must. Especially dessert Nachos.
Terrible service! Even before we order, the waiter just throw the drink to our table and walk away without saying a single word.
Cool view if you're lucky enough to sit in just the right booth at just the right time (not when the sun is going down). Food is just ok, and service was quite slow. Took a good fifteen minutes just for someone to come wipe our table down.
Great view and good drinks. Can get busy but it's work it.
Landmark restaurant on the water. Very big... A bit of an amusement park feel... Not upscale at all. Great for families, and drinking beer on the water with your buddies
My new favorite place for Mexican food in Austin. The salsa is easily the best I've had here. Chicken enchilada was great and they also make good refried beans, which seems to be rare..
Awesome place with mouthwatering food!!the place is a gem with the lakeside view!A must visit place
David was a fantastic server, letting me taste the BBQ sauce beforehand and brightening our mid- pandemic moods. Thanks for the amazing food, atmosphere and service! I highly recommend the ribs!
Thinking about trying this place out. But,reading so much reviews about bad service. Can't believe they cant find good help and managers to improve their service
Perfect place if you just want to have a drink or go and have a family meal..
GREAT atmosphere and just a fun relaxing place to go and it is right on the river. Food is decent.
Awesome place! Get the deep-fried banana for dessert,it's so good!
Always delicious food, service was great and on point
Great waterfront restaurant with good Pico de Gallo and a great place for a dinner and drink.
Great food, amazing combination of Hawaiian and Tex-Mex dishes. The employees were great, took the time to explain the menu, answered all questions, excellent customer service!!!
Aloha, welcome to our Pacific Island theme, Mexican food restaurant? What's wrong with this picture? Even my 11 year old girl was laughing, she really was, at how fake it looks.
Servers look out of tempo, lost. Place is missing the relax and friendly feeling from that kind of restaurant.
Atmosphere: Casual, waterfront eatery in Oyster Landing
Service: Easy-going, a little slow
Food: Grilled Mahi Mahi tacos were tasty and fresh, beans and rice were okay. Open-face seared tuna tacos were like a salad on tortillas, large portion. Tuna was a little tough?
Pricing: Moderate $42.00 for above tip included
In the men's restroom the toilet paper was not in the dispenser, it was on the floor.
The service was not the greatest and the food was awful. Unfortunate...
Fajitas and margaritas by the lake, the service is usually decent. The food is average, but it is a great location, definitely a go-to place when the weather is nice.
The food is fresh, the drinks are delish, & the lakeside view is calming. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. Great experience on a pretty Texas fall day.
Classic Austin lakefront restaurant. Try the pork tacos!
Got a large piece of wood in the first bite of salsa. Staff didn't seem too concerned about it.
One of our favorite places to go in Austin when it's sunny.
Excellent service!!! Great food! Loved the enchiladas! Mango salsa was also great! Pretty good view outside too!
The food I had was amazing: stuffed avocado appetizer and Thai BBQ chicken fajitas. The avocado was a great starter, the fajitas flavor was bold and captivating, the view was delightful, and the service was top-notch.
Location and view is awesome. Food is just ok nothing really special.
Tubular tacos are the bomb the steak was great but my buddy got the shrimp the were even better
Great fusion of Mexican and Hawaiian quisine. The food and the view are worth paying for, reasonable price for the best food, quesadillas and fish tacos.
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!! Im from indianapolis so definitely a place for newbies to check out!
Food was delicious first time to try it from out of town very impressed
We went here for a birthday party with my sister-in-law turning 42 don't worry Anna I won't tell him who you are hahaha needless to say the wait here is terrible if you have a large party I'm not sure that they let you make a reservation but I'm almost sure if they did let you make one I'm sure my brother would have I don't know whose fault it was but we waited two and a half hours to be seated for a 15 man party by the time we sat down we do windows down to about 10 The Waiting staff seem to be moving right away and taking the drink order and then the food order in that specific order I had a drink in my hand I was ready to order food when I sat down but they would not go out of there specific routine don't mean for this one to sound like a complaint but the food is not my first choice at all and for as large as that place was you would think that they would have a better grasp on how to seat people and then serve people don't recommend this place you'd be better off going to Sam's Boat across town in North Austin just up Mopac
