Cool lakeside place, great food and great atmosphere

Good vibe by the lakeside. Good drinks, friendly staff. Help yourself to all yiu can eat chips pico and salsa. Me and the lady enjoyed it!

Always a great place to bring out of town guests. I recommend the Hawaiian fajitas

Long wait times food was nasty order one thing got something else.

All the food except the intro salsa was bland and the drinks were very watered down :( But the service was friendly and the patio view is somewhat nice (the plastic curtain is very dirty and hard to see through)

We always love going to Hula Hut. Good food, good atmosphere and good service. Very convenient that they keep water out for people waiting cause it does get hot sometimes.

Dope ass joint....i've been going here since the 90s i think. Forever it seems....go the outside dining area on the water. great food, great service. i hope hula hut never changes. great drinks, fun place....totally authentic austin.

Place is nice, cool ambience. A little bit pricey compared to other mexican places, but good quality overall.

If you get a seat outside, it's a beautiful view. There just isn't anything here that knocks me off my feet, though.

Always choose to sit on the outside patio! The view and ambiance is beautiful and relaxing. The enchiladas are pretty good.

"Drinks" were incredibly small and way over priced / badly made. Sitting near the bar meant that the one waiter would never come visit our table, or check in with us even when the food arrived and to tasted awful. Avoid at all costs.

Great food! Enchiladas were huge. Definitely get the Fried Avacado ball. Delicious!

Nice place on the water, friendly staff with cold drinks and good food. Outside patio overlooks the water and was excellent.

Service continues to decline. Even the manager appeared to not give a s#i+ when informed of our server ignoring our table. Food used to make up for questionable service but I'm afraid even that has disappointed now. I give up bringing friends to this place.

The bathrooms are disgusting . The food is good! Customer service goo!

Full house and ladies room had only two working stalls , finally get a table and they are missing 3 seats for our large party of 13, sit down and under our seats are wet and old food. We asked them to please clean since we had long dresses. Waiter took care of it then disappeared. Had to go to bar for drinks. Chicken was so burnt we couldn't eat it.
So disappointed.

Hula Hut has a wonderful atmosphere! There is usually a long wait on weekends, but the outdoor bar is a great place to wait. You can have drinks, order appetizers, or just enjoy the delicious chips and salsa. The food and service has always been great, even when they are really busy we consistently have good service. This is a great restaurant to take out of town guests.

We waited 1.5 hours for a table. The server was good but the food was lackluster. I've had better much better food at every other Mexican food place I've been to. To add to my disappointment I also have food poisoning.

Tex mex at its finest. The view and atmosphere were great. We came during peak hours (Sunday lunch hour) so we weren t surprised to wait for an hour. We enjoyed sitting outside to watch the view and take some family pictures. We had such a large family (25) that I think our waitress managed pretty well. She was attentive and helpful. I got the weekender and really enjoyed it!

Great food. Lovely and large outdoor area as well as inside dining room. On the lake. Several restaurants in a row. Great drinks. Fabulous atmosphere. A must see. Beautiful view of outstanding homes built on the lake.

So i came here on a trip back from a work thing i had to do. I sat down and Georgia greeted herself. I was ready to go with everything. I ordered the Shrimp Pipeline enchilada which was awesome by the way. I highly recommend it. She did everything in a timely manner. Very polite and nice. I will be coming back to eat here again from my experience I had with her. She s the reason why I love to dine out. It s hard to come across good service and when I do it puts a smile on my face. Hula Hut as the best ambiance, you feel as if you are having a nice meal while hanging out with friends on a boat. The food is decent along with the service, however the biggest perk is the beautiful view of the lake.

Me and my family recently visited from out of town. To say the least...Horrible Service and Horrible staff. My wife and I ordered adult drinks that never came after 15 minutes of waiting!? Ultimately we decided to just go next door to Ables for cocktails & appetizers. Undouboubtly a better service and staff.

Got the ahi fish taco which was delicious. Quick service, nice location

Great place to spend a summer evening. Food is usually good and a decent value. Drinks can be pricey, but that's the price you pay to sit on the patio and drink them!

There needs to be more places like this on the river. We love to pull up the boat and get some awesome food. The salsa is the best in Austin!

Pipeline Enchiladas were the best enchiladas I've ever had. Can't wait to go back!

If you want something different outside of the typical night life in Austin, I think Hula Hut would be a nice spot too bring friends, visitors, and happy hour mongers to.

The beer selection is small but they do have an extensive list of different kinds of margarita.

The view is incredible, you will see nothing like that within the city limits.

I always come for their Fajita Beef Pipeline Enchilada is so delightful.

The waitress forget our table after taking our orders. Yes it was busy but still unacceptable. Food was great though.

Decent food. A bit over-priced for the quality, but a good atmosphere on the Colorado river. Great for beverages on the back patios at HH, sunset or on nice days IN general. Usually pretty packed all summer long. The key lime mints at the door are a MUST. So yum.

Loves the hula hut... The view is heavenly and if you're lucky you might get to feed some chips to swans!

I couldn't tell you how the food was, we never got in to eat. We got there on a saturday evening, put our name on the list and was told it would be a 45 minute wait. We waited an hour, but when we approached the hostess to find out our status we were told that they had texted us and called. We looked at our phone and saw we had no text or missed calls, but we did have service. She then said she could add us back on the list for another 45 minute wait. Now why would I wait another 45 minutes with 2 squirmy babies, my daughter had to have her birthday dinner at another Austin restaurant. I really can't see going back to wait at this restaurant again.

Great experience. Our waitress was really funny. A little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. Order the ribs if you want food for the next week

Hula Hut is a great place for atmosphere, and I like the food as well. Note to first timers: It is always crowded. However, the service is much better than at the Oasis, and it's usually worth the wait.

Always delicious. There's pineapple in the salsa! What's not to love. They are always very busy. Last time we went we ended up sitting at the bar as first come first served. The bartender was very nice and friendly though.

The whole staff was awesome. Rick the bartender tonight was especially awesome!

Good food and a great setting overlooking Lake Austin.

I was drawn to this place by its name since I was visiting from Hawaii! And while it s not authentic Hawaiian food, their Tex mex is amazing! The portions are big and tasty. I would say share a couple items. The service was great and can t beat the view!

TOO pact, disgusting bathrooms, ehh food, chaotic mess...

The location is nice, the food is OK. Not many options if you're a vegetarian. The queso is awesome, the guacamole can be better.

Come here for the view, because that s the best thing this place has going for it. I had the roasted chicken enchilada. It s served as a giant burrito, as in one big roll of blandness on a plate. The salsa and margaritas are unremarkable, but the chips are good. On the down side, one member of our party who is gluten intolerant left when told that the only thing on the menu that she could eat was the guacamole! The service was slooooow. And to add insult to injury, they are not dog friendly despite having a huge outdoor patio. Won t be a next time for me.

The view of the lake makes it worth a visit. Sadly the food is routinely Luke warm, and lacks any real flavor.

Folks are definitely over selling it. I had great hopes but we had dirty silverware, sticky chairs and mediocre service. You mostly see the dam through dirty plastic windows - not a great view. No one liked their food in a party of 8, including the kids. With such good food in Austin I m very surprised to see the high ratings. I would not recommend it.

Different. I have never had mexican and Polynesian food fused. It was delicious. The out door seating was fabulous. The view was great. A must try place.

Good drinks, nice open patio, our bar tender was very attentive despite having to serve the entire patio! Only reason i couldnt give a five is the food wasnt hot app and the management was not professional

Order the srimp burito plate too hot to touch. Looks like the overused the microwave. Other then that the waiters are nice and attentive. Good place to enjoy with family.

Fun spot on the west side, a setting that can't be beat on the water & in the lush west side hilll country...food is good, portions are good & food didn't seem greasy but healthy/ good ingredients.

Great cocktails, interesting service... staff more interested in tv than customers. Wouldn't go for food but drinks and chip and dip are great!

One of my favorite Tex-Mex restaurants in Austin. Owned by the Chuy's chain, much of the food is the same as Chuy's, but with a few Hawaiian themed dishes, and a good view of and seating beside the lake.
