My wife and I had lunch in the bar on a Sunday. They have several TVs on and a few drink specials. We had appetizers including the grilled octopus, frog legs, and oysters. We washed everything down with a delicious bloody mary. Excellent service complimented a delicious meal.
Great steaks and fish...always. Frank our server...Fabulous!
Sublime service! Ask for Ty, challenge him, you won't be disappointed. Extreme knowledgeable, regarding the menu. Dishes worth trying, Lump crab cake, Ribeye steak, Brussel sprouts, and as last the Chocolate mousse cake. This cake is a winner, hint; you won't be able to eat this by yourself, ask for help.
Putting rate 5 for this place. Extremely awesome place in terms of food quality and service quality level. The place is very clean and servers do their work fantastically fast and good. Servers first come to you place with sheet of examples and show it to you, describe main items and show it also in menu. They keep order items sequence: will give you appetizers first, wait while you eat, then they clean your place: will remove plates, forks, clean table if there smth fall on that, clean your hands using lemon (they squis it on your hands) and hot towel, than will give you new clean plates forks etc and next dish as soon as it ready. Servers are very nice with you. Extremely clean toilets with server person that open water for you, gives soap to your hands, give you paper towel. I will recommend this place for all my friends.
This awesome seafood restaurant never fails, their service, consistency on their food and phenomenal cocktail and wine list.
you most try their.
Frog legs on lemos butter sauce
Scargo
Lobster
Fish of the day
last nit not least theirs massive cakes slices
Food and atmosphere are great. Good spot for a date night or client dinner. #localspot #happyhour
I understand that the main thing is that the business is successful. The place is good, but the cuisine is the level of a roadside eatery in Mongolia. So you can't be greedy. You must have a conscience.
Great drinks and fresh oyster bar!! Great happy hour specials.
Great food and staff. Staff and management was so friendly and was making sure everyone is having an great great experience! Can't get better :)
Very chill place, went there after playing volleyball at the oak beach would recommend.
Delicious food, great service. I definitely recommend the king crab appetizer.
Great food, never knew it's the seafood side of Gibsons
Came here for the first time, it was too crowded, food was ok , prices are very high
Not sure if I will come back
Best place for steak.. Just ask for Frank the best ever man to serve you in an amazing friendly and experience person
We had the most amazing seafood platter at this place. The steaks are superb also. The staff were amazing as was the food. Best meal we had in Chicago
A great place with great food atmosphere and service.
So disappointing this was our first, and probably last, visit.
We had high expectations when we arrived, however, we waited for more than hour for our food. When it came the steak was cold, dry and tasteless. I sent my plate back as it was not good at all
The $100 bottle of Red wine was cold, one waiter for the bar area who was struggling to keep everything going.
The manager came and spoke to us and apologized for Dropping the Ball. They did reduce the bill
Great food and great service! Waiter really took care of the little ones at the table!
Classic Chicago steak and fish restaurant, great location. Dining outside is lovely here.
Nice place but cost $$$. I think over priced in some things.
This is our go to place when we visit Chicago! The food is amazing!!
You simply can't get fresher seafood. The prices are reasonable considering the high quality and the staff is excellent!
A place with a lot of flavor, good attention, nice..the chocolate cake
Its a nice place to go to for special occasions and they have really good food there
One of my favorite places to grab something to eat. good location, well organised, and awesome service. Keep it up!
Filet mignon was amazing, I love this place and go often.
I go here once year as a group of 4 the first Friday of November ...only because I live in Vancouver and only travel here once a year. Fantastic food and the service is incredible we request Ron for service and he is by far the best and we look forward to our visit with him every year ! Highly recommend! Order a Monte Cristo coffee...good luck !
This place doesn t need my reviews! But if you re new to Chicago and want to eat at THE place to eat in Chicago- Hugo s is it!! Their service is never shy of perfect!
We went there for lunch first time out since social distancing. From start with appetizers Lobster, and crab cake to finish our entrees ribeye, and lamb chops were oh so delicious. Our server Brenda was awesome ,her recommendation and food knowledge made our dining experience exception .Saved the best for last the Chocolate Mouse Cake was Superb. My new go to restaurant.
Great food, great service, excellent atmosphere. Will go back whenever we are in area.
Great atmosphere, wonderful staff and delicious food!
Excellent service and great food ... Wide wine list !!
Great location, great happy hour for fresh oysters, great wine selection and staff are attentive. Every trip from Colorado includes Hugo's!
A little on the pricey side but worth the dining experience. We were well taken care of.
My fav location for quality seafood. It has an awesome atmosphere. This place has many reviews for a reason.
We only had fish and chips. Huge portions. Doggie bags to go
Service was impeccable. Seafood was awesome. Wouldn't recommend the brussel sprouts though.
Pretty good food - if you are into steak - little busy on Saturday. Expect to get little loud if ur celebrating a birthday
I used to live in the neighborhood. This was my place. I miss it so much. But what a delight to come back when I'm in town. Hugo's then, Hugo's now, Hugo's forever!
Fine, that s about all I have to say about it. I m feel like restaurants like this just get away with serving so-so food and overcharging for it because of their location. The complimentary bread was tasteless. The house salad reminded me of 1990. My mussels were flavorless, though I got a ton of them. The fish sandwich my friend got was not designed to be eaten as a sandwich; the fish patty was three times the size of the bun. I hate sandwiches that are impossible to eat with my hands. Good option if you can t eat elsewhere. We did have very good service.
Great oysters, nice wine, perfect service. Salad came with the meal and it was delightful- a meal by itself. Truly enjoyed our evening. Escargot were too salty - avoid.
One of the best seafood restaurant in Chicagoby one of the best restaurant groups in the city of Chicago little bit over the price but it's a special occasion spot for me but the quality of the food is good and the service is good prices are high
Great food and service! Went here with hubby and we really enjoyed our time here. I also love the atmosphere.
One of my favorite restaurants in the Chicago area!
This place was where my fiance choose to take me the night he proposed...they were very accommodating of the occasion!
Service and food are exceptional. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago.
Located right in the Streeterville/Near North Side area, this is a great place to go for some awesome food that is more on the pricey, nice side.
Try the frog legs! They are actually pretty good. Very much like chicken meat.
My wife and I were disappointed. The food is not at the level of the service. Advices about the wine wasn't very good, but the waiter proposed to remove it from the bill.
Good atmosphere and the bread they serve you in the beginning is really good. Prices vary from $20 to 115 for a meal and average 20-50.
We had a fantastic experience! It was so special to come for a birthday and sit at the elevator table. Our server Bob was so accommodating and helpful. The salmon and sundae was amazing. Definitely our favorite seafood place in Chicago!!
I absolutely loved this place! Happy hour was great, we enjoyed the oysters, stuffed lobster and the frog legs were fantastic.
Great seafood, atmosphere and service. Reasonably priced, not cheap but well worth it. Can get busy so make reservations. The oysters were the best I have had in a long time. Sea of Cortez shrimp are huge and tasty. Drinks are well poured by BT's. Great place to hang for drinks and appetizers or a nice night out for dinner. A must "go to spot" in downtown Chicago.
Really bad service! We went for a graduation dinner at Hugo s and we found a hair in one of our steaks. We told the server, but they said the hair doesn t match any of their cooks! The manager said the same thing. We were shocked to get this kind of service for a $500 meal. Worst experience we have had at a Chicago restaurant.
Came here with a friend from out of town. I made a reservation on a Saturday night using the app Opentable for 7pm. I am pretty used to dining in Chicago, and I am aware that most restaurants that take reservations are RARELY on time for them. It's a city, it gets busy. We had to wait over an hour for our table, but once we were finally seated a complimentary appetizer was brought to our table almost immediately after we sat down. Our server was knowledgable, and friendly for being a New Yorker! We had a great time, and felt very relaxed. We did not feel rushed at any point, despite the late hour.
Great service, great food, all around this place deserves 4 stars. Our waiter was great and the food was so yummy. I definitely recommend this restaurant we will be coming back when in San Fran.
$1 oyster specials and half priced wine specials daily.
If I could give this place more stars, I would. Phenomenal melt-in-your-mouth cuisine. The crab cakes are an absolute must!!! Wonderful cocktails, great atmosphere! Loved this place!!
It had been 18 years since my wife and I last had dinner at Hugo's. This time we were joined by our four kids and it was as good as the first time. Our waiter Pete was awesome and manager John was as nice as possible . They even when to the adjacent restaurant to get food for the kiddos. Top notch and a great night .
Stop by for $1 oysters when available, also if you're and old fashioned drinker, their recipie will knock your socks off, made with the label of your choice.
Went for happy hour from 3-6. I think it is only Monday through Thursday. $1 oysters and half off white wine. Hell of a deal.
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. Everything was delicious. We will be back.
