great spot for fish, steaks, and people watching. can get very busy at the bar, but you can usually get in even without a reservation. it is attached to gibsons, so you can get a gibsons steak even if you cannot get into gibsons.

Recommended - Well worth the trip and the food was very good; only issue is I'd prefer not to have the waiter acting like our new BFF.

We were originally trying to visit Gibson's but they didn't have any tables open, they said Hugo's served Gibson's steaks and had a table for two open for our exact time. We got there A little early and had a cocktail at the bar. We were then seated right at the time of the reservation. The wait staff was great, made some great wine recommendation, kept the water glass full, food came out at a great pace. I just wish we had room for dessert.

The best service and awesome food. Arrived at 2:50 and they open at 3pm. NO PROBLEM. Come right in here a table for 2. ENJOY!

1st class all the way! From making reservations with Roxanne to all the emplyees that take care of you, its really a great experience! And the food....wow! Great place!

3:00-6:00 happy hour was wonderful. The oysters were only $1during this time. The service was consistent and the oysters delicious. We were allowed to order a two dozen eat a time. While we were waiting for the first order to arrive a basket of bread was brought to the table. When the oysters arrive we were brought crackers, hot sauce, plates a discard bowl, and two sauces on ice with the oysters. The bathrooms have attendants it is a good thing to be aware of (I wish someone had told me when I first went). We arrived right when happy hour started and there were plenty of tables. The tables filled up very quickly. The bar area is pretty tight on space.

What a great place! Our uncle made a reservation tonight for our Anniversary. We didn t know what to expect. Excellent Service! Excellent Food!! No matter how full you are... don t miss out on one of there desserts!! Thank you for the wonderful evening!

What a great meal out at Hugo s. The food was really good and the portions were very generous. I would recommend it without hesitation, a true 5 star experience.

Just an ok place for me. I had the fiah and chips and didn't quite understand how the fish turned into a brick and the fries were mediocre

Came here about 2 years ago for a birthday party, and it was insanely good. The cake is the size of your head and enough for several people to sample! One of the best places I've visited in Chicago hands down.

Love this place! Great steak and seafood. Sit at the bar with Greg or at a table with Art or Montrose. Get the 19 ounce NY or a pound of cold crab legs with butter. And don t forget to get oysters and shrimp at the bar.

Went to Hugo Frog's for my birthday, and loved their filet migno. We had their "Meaining of Life Cake" and it was a gigantic slice that will feed a family of 4, definitely found something to live for. As an appetizer had their crab cakes, and they were also excellent. Great place to celebrate a special occassion.

Great atmosphere, top heavy drinks, awesome bread.... But the steak was beyond 5 potato was perfect. Green beans are the best in town!!!

Great dinner, as usual. The king crab legs are the way to go. Attentive service and a great atmospheric just tops it off.

My sister/I drove from two hundred south to enjoy what we thought would be a good steak dinner. We arrived at 4:20 pm and seated at 430. No Food til 555. Horrible service for being African American

Great place to celebrate and phenomenal food. Hugo's takes you back to another time when customer service was a priority.

We ordered the fish of the day and the semolina gnochetti. The fish was good, not spectacular, but the gnochetti was incredible. Although the bread is complimentary, olive oil is not and they charge for it. Definitely leave room for dessert, they have some classics.

Atmosphere has a cool vibe, but is also comfortable and inviting. THE FOOD IS AMAZING!! The bartenders were super and suggested the perfect drinks! We will definitely be back for more

Steaks and Seafood

This is my go to spot especially later in the evening. They serve all the same steaks as the well known Gibsons next door, however they have a selection of seafood that Gibson's doesn't have. The service is good as well.

Very neat and accessible restaurant. They offer large portions and for reasonable rates. We liked the food very much and the staff were super welcoming and informative. Highly recommended.

Oyster happy hour is everything!! Everything I've had on the menu so far has been great, especially the crab cake!

This was okay, steak was not the best and lo stern was tough. Staff was amazing.

Some of the best customer service and the surf and turf was fantastic. Asked for well done steak and got the best well done steak of my life! Will be returning!

The food was ok but not for the price I paid. The staff was hovering the whole time and I felt rushed. The manager was very nice though.

It's Hugo's. You get treated like a player, even if you're not. And, the food is what you expect and served to you with respect.

Even though the crab cakes rivaled any I've had in New Orleans or Maryland, the service was deplorable, the ambient sound so loud it was almost impossible to have a conversation and the timing of the servers couldn't have been worse.

Food so HEAVY swimming in butter. You definitely feel sick even after a salad..salads swim in heavy dressing. Not clean at all ..this restaurant must be inspected by health or somebody especially now. Tables dirty booths dirty.

Service is the worst!

Hugo's has always been great. If you need a great meal go and 99% they won't disapoint.
Next door is Gibsons which is just as great.
