Great place! Large open space. The stage was large as well. They had a variety of singers and instruments used. I was much more impressed with this one compared to the one in Philly. Absolutely worth a stop if you have the time or you're in the area. Everyone in my group loved it and wants to go back.

This place has a friendly, casual atmosphere with staff members that are so chill and inviting. The band upstairs..... .....(that's all, no biggie). When you've had enough of the band upstairs (which is totes impossible), you can make your way/jive your way downstairs onto the dance floor. Soooo poppin......get down with your bad self type of dancing.....like twerking shamelessly and gracefully....love it!!!! Also, it's not so huge there are gaps (and you feel totally judged) or so tight and packed you feel like you're on public transportation in the morning.

Great environment and one of my go-to's in Boston. They always have live music and the drinks are great. Definitely a place for college students or people in their 20's (don't bring your parents) It can get crowded later at night on the weekend so make sure you get there before 9 and I would recommend avoiding the basement level.

Insanely crowded but the music was absolutely amazing. But it was nearly impossible to move around. I've been to two other HatM locations, and this was the most different and honestly most fun. The crowd seemed a lot younger here, a lot of 20 somethings, as opposed to the bit older crowd that I found at the other two. This vibe was a lot more of a night club with live music, than a piano lounge with a small dance floor like the other two. It was packed though, like 10 minutes of bobbing and weaving to get to the bar from the dance floor or to the exit. Still a lot of fun, unless your claustrophobia is easily triggered

We were visiting Boston from Albuquerque on Sept 10th and were referred to check out Howl by a vendor on Market street. We arrived about 8pm. It was a slow night with only a dozen other patrons. We ordered a couple drinks and were really enjoying the music. At 9, I went to the bar to ask if they had any bar snacks or food, but was told they did not. I asked the bartender if there were any other restaurants nearby were I go grab something to-go, she said there was something just down the street, but couldn't remember the name. So my fiance stayed behind and I left to see what I could find. On the way out the front door, I told the doorman/bouncer I was going to look for some appetizers to bring back and asked him if he could recommend someplace close, he suggested I walk next door to Finn McCool's. I walked to Finn's, ordered a couple appetizers to-go and returned by 9:25. But as I entered and walked past the bouncer, the manager stopped me to tell me I could not bring outside food into the bar. I tried to explain that both the bartender and the bouncer knew I was leaving to bring back food since there wasn't anything available onsite; to which he said, "We have pizza." He couldn't tell me why his staff didn't recommend that earlier, but still refused to let me enter. So I left the food at the entrance, went in to get my fiance and settle our tab, then we left and walked back to Finn's where we ordered more food and drinks. The piano bar back in Albuquerque generates a tremendous amount of business for GrubHub, Uber Eats and other local restaurants that deliver. If I had known you served pizza or that I couldn't bring food back; I would have ordered in and never left; but as it stands now, I'll never be back.

Great place. However I will say the talent is limited with the requests. They do not play off each other very well. To be fair, I am from Orlando and our location is amazing. Very diverse in selections and songs including team work. With that said. They sound better than I ever would.

Like all Howls, this place has everything you're looking for, a giant bar, buckets of drinks, fantastic musicians and a fun atmosphere, especially during PAX East. The musicians here are so very talented and get the crowd going and the servers were very attentive, despite the few hundred people there.

Howl Thursdays if you're on Team Lit. Otherwise, don't kill our vibe ya heard. When I was in college, this was the spot. One time I got so drunk I forgot to close my TAB lmao, but they were super helpful the next day and helped me get my S#!T together the next afternoon. Now all I have to show for it is this cell phone full of random phone numbers and all this student loan debt. Sigh

Fun place. Buffet leaves a lot to be desired but that's not the main reason to go. Drinks are great and reasonably priced. Not much of a dance floor on the upper level. I really enjoy the live music too

We had so much fun here! We purchased the jump the line pass which we definitely didnt need to buy with going at 6pm. The manager was very nice and bought us a round of drinks because he felt bad we had wasted our money! Band was amazing, crowd was great and drinks were awesome!!

The pink fusion drink with the x-rated liquor was super delicious! The best part about the drink is some of the profit is donated to breast cancer research. The live music was amazing. The band and the music made the atmosphere much more enjoyable!

I had won a party at Howl at the Moon in December and just recently had my party. My party was a Happy Hour party from 5-9 and even included food and free admission! The place has a great feeling to it and serves amazing drinks that anyone would love. The music is great and you can always suggest a song if you want to. I really loved the downstairs club portion of Howl at the Moon because they have a great sized dance floor and even a bottle service if you wanted to use it. Overall, a very fun place to go!

This is a review for a Friday Night experience, specifically.

If this place just marketed itself as a bar, it'd get 3 stars. Nothing special, but not terrible. Free buffet from 6 to 7:45 (very small selection, but man those fried cheese macaroni balls are delicious), and draft beer priced at what you'd expect in Boston, $6 a pop; decent selection as well. Very little seating though - embarrassingly so. And not that much floor space either. And an OK live band that takes requests.

"Wait... isn't Howl at the Moon supposed to be a piano bar?"

And here is where Howl at the Moon loses a star down to two total. The Howl franchise got its reputation as a chain of dueling piano bars, and markets itself as such as well. Yet, all that I saw on Friday night at the Boston location was a live cover band: guitar, bass, drums, and piano. They took requests, but did just "straight" covers - no banter, and no putting their own twist/style on the songs they played. Oh, and you can't hear the piano, because the guitar, bass, and drums totally overpower the piano.

A dueling piano bar is supposed to have entertainers that can not only play music, but banter with the crowd and make jokes. It's two performers at pianos alternating between each other as the "main" piano, taking turns playing the songs requested by patrons, and putting their own flair on the song. Every once in a while, they might play the drums as well or something, but the focus is on the PIANOs, not the other instruments.

If I wanted to see a live band, I'd go to any other bar - they're not hard to find. Here, I expected a dueling piano bar, and that's not what they offer - at least on Friday nights.

Nice place for private parties on the main floor. Many drink selections and bucket drinks available for groups. Atmosphere is lively, great music, and they take audience suggestions. Better than I expected.

Pretty clean and nice place. Bar in the center with a small dance floor and live music. Some tables to the side. Drinks are a bit pricey, but nothing crazy. Gets pretty loud and packed later on in the night.

Only thing I liked about this place was the buckets yet they where a bit disappointing, I felt like I was sipping juice and by the end of the night I wasn't as drunk as I liked to have been. The band upstairs was a bit much. The girl seemed to be in to the singing. Not a fan of the trash cans or the choice of songs. I was practically choked with a syringe Jell-O shot the waitress shoved it In my mouth no warning and just pressed it into my throat had green jell-o in my nostrils. Gets a bit messy in the club in the basement. Lots of spilled drinks and the DJ kept changing the song after a minute literally.

My friends and I always have an awesome time. We're typically there for a happy hour event so we don't pay a cover, get inexpensive drinks, a light buffet laugh and dance all night. I'll keep going as often as we can. Love it there.

Not worth the cover. Went with some friends, the wait wasn't bad but was packed inside. Drink prices and selection were average for this kind of place. The live music was so so. After about 30 min and a few sips on a drink my stomach started bothering me and the heat from the crowd wasn't helping it so I stepped out for air. I walked halfway up the block and got a little sick in a trash can. I attempted to go back in and a bouncer pulled me out the back and told me I wasn't allowed back in for getting sick. I explained that my stomach was just upset (I was 100% sober) and I didn't want to drink and just see my friends, but they ignored me. I ended up spending three hours outside waiting for my friends and missing out on the night.

I only like going to the place during a bar crawl. The drinks are ok but pricey. I like the place but I don't like the place. The bathroom is like up the street and around the corner. A drag! Food is ok.

Love this place. Great live music most nights. I would talk about the downstairs but I don't think I've ever been conscious by the time I get down there. The drink deals are great.

OMG!!! THE most incredible show I've ever witnessed. I love to listen to live bands on the north shore and went here with friends that I work with in Boston and when I first walked in, I thought they were playing music from CD's and as I walked around, I relaized it was the band playing!! They were absolutely amazing. I'm 56yo and danced from 7:30 to midnight. They never took even a 1 minute break. I was totally enthralled. Yes, there were many college aged kids, but I never felt out of place. I danced with everyone! Kudos to the players on 11/13. You guys rocked the place!! I can't wait to go back. The nailed every single song and had everyone in the place dancing and singing. Very crowded so beware if you are claustophobic, but I personally enjoyed feeling everyone's vibes and dancing with whomever I bumped into. A must experience for anyone who loves live music and dancing til their feet hurt!
