We were visiting Boston from Albuquerque on Sept 1...

We were visiting Boston from Albuquerque on Sept 10th and were referred to check out Howl by a vendor on Market street. We arrived about 8pm. It was a slow night with only a dozen other patrons. We ordered a couple drinks and were really enjoying the music. At 9, I went to the bar to ask if they had any bar snacks or food, but was told they did not. I asked the bartender if there were any other restaurants nearby were I go grab something to-go, she said there was something just down the street, but couldn't remember the name. So my fiance stayed behind and I left to see what I could find. On the way out the front door, I told the doorman/bouncer I was going to look for some appetizers to bring back and asked him if he could recommend someplace close, he suggested I walk next door to Finn McCool's. I walked to Finn's, ordered a couple appetizers to-go and returned by 9:25. But as I entered and walked past the bouncer, the manager stopped me to tell me I could not bring outside food into the bar. I tried to explain that both the bartender and the bouncer knew I was leaving to bring back food since there wasn't anything available onsite; to which he said, "We have pizza." He couldn't tell me why his staff didn't recommend that earlier, but still refused to let me enter. So I left the food at the entrance, went in to get my fiance and settle our tab, then we left and walked back to Finn's where we ordered more food and drinks. The piano bar back in Albuquerque generates a tremendous amount of business for GrubHub, Uber Eats and other local restaurants that deliver. If I had known you served pizza or that I couldn't bring food back; I would have ordered in and never left; but as it stands now, I'll never be back.
