Beautiful location inside, from the street side the structure does not seem to offer much but the gardens, the swimming pool and the dining room are really suggestive, especially for an important event. Good food and quality of ingredients, excellent and unusual idea of the "SPA of food" to indicate the attention towards the culinary aspect, integrating typical flavors of Cilento. Recommended.
High level catering, the place is very well maintained and luxurious. The food is mostly of artisan origin, from the dairies of Paestum to the traditional dishes of the area. Highly recommended.
I was a guest of the structure for a wedding. I must immediately express that both the organization and the lunch, starting from the excellent and varied appetizers, were of a higher level. It was the first time I hope to be able to return.

I stayed 2 nights for a wedding and I have to say that the treatment is unbeatable.
The food is very good and the cleanliness is excellent.
The accommodation is the only thing in which it would improve certain details such as defects in the blinds, some small chipping, the yellowish silicone of the shower

The breakfasts are of a very good quality although a bit short on offer.
Even with everything I give it 5 stars because we have been a very pleasant days and all the small imperfections go unnoticed.
The hotel staff is not nice at all, they never smile, hush you to leave your room before check out hour... the rooms are plain, with old and noisy AC. Most of the hotel is "closed" for private parties after 12:30 (swimming pool + gardens) leaving you with no facility to use (no gym...).

The cuisine is sublime, you feel the quality of the raw material. Each dish is well presented, perfectly cured, a pleasure for the eyes and palate, from appetizer to dessert, with a wide choice of wines.
Perfect service, the staff are really very helpful and friendly.
The owner, Vito, is an exquisite person and a great example of honesty.
Cilento, a splendid land, is surrounded by many mysteries. What concerns us most closely is gastronomic: because such a vast territory - closed by the Alburni mountains to the north and the Vallo di Diano to the east - and so rich in unique raw materials - buffalo mozzarella, white figs, the Controne bean , excellent cheeses - doesn't it generate a proportionate amount of restaurants where you can eat well?
Here we are at the Royal Paestum.
We relied on the maitre d ', who opened the dance with the Variazione di bufala (8 euros), a triptych of fried with buffalo mozzarella, tomato and basil. To follow, the raw seafood (10 euros), served on a brick of pink salt, a tasty 'Ndundero (10 euros), a fresh cremolata pasta with yellow Capaccio tomato, buffalo toma and friggitielli. And the fantastic Parmigiana di mare (12 euros) served in the Boccaccio of Campania. You could fight to decide who should finish with the spoon, it is so good.
The menu of food is firmly anchored in the Campania tradition, with the possibility of choosing tasting itineraries starting from 35 for the anti-crisis menu.
But with the sun's rays filtering through the windows you will find Rombo, Artichokes and Yogurt (16 euros), Mullet on the stone of the River Calore (14 euros); Smoked cod (artisanally) with buffalo mozzarella, asparagus and charcoal from Cilento olives. And excellent fresh desserts like the one that bears the name of the place: "Sottobosco Pestano" (7 euros), or creamy hazelnut with a heart of shortcrust pastry and Roccadaspide chestnuts.

The state of the room was outrageous: the peeling walls, the shower because impractical attached to the bidet, inattentive staff, bad smell in the hallways, poor breakfast for the lack of personnel.

I stayed for one night in this hotel toilet, as soon as I enter a party the disorganized staff (they could not find my room) after a few minutes they find it, I give them the documents and I go to the room (the stairs did not work I had to use the elevator even if I suffer from claustrophobia) I enter the room I could not find the light button, first impression it looks like a nice room but instead NO (the window didn't work well, the air conditioner didn't work it was always on (I froze) the television made bad noises , half of the drinks in the fridge were already open, I booked a double bed and instead they were two single beds pushed together and a bit of dirt everywhere, outside the window there were filters of canes and cigarettes.
In the morning I had breakfast in my room
at 9:00 they arrived at 9:30
then breakfast was a vomit I asked for tea and I got colored and sugary water, muffins with a dead bee inside, cold cappuccinos, I asked for a pear juice and instead it came to pineapple the only good thing was the toilet paper and packaged Nutella.
In summary I do not recommend this hotel for the quality not received.

Fabulous hotel, top-notch restaurant, high prices but fair for the courses, but for me more than scarce portions.
I was on 19.6.18 as part of a group trip in this very nice hotel. I have nothing to write about equipment and kitchen, that was perfect!
Unfortunately, this very good overall impression was almost completely destroyed by two members of staff the next morning. A lady from the receptionist blurted me twice such a unfriendly "PREGO", because I dared to take a look to a room that I thought was the breakfast room.
Such was rebuked means that the breakfast is to be taken by the pool.
There, arrived at 5 minutes to eight, the next nastiest employee of this otherwise excellent house awaited me.
He barked at me twice in an "OTTO" to tell me that there was only 8 o'clock breakfast.
Many thanks to these two contemporaries, who managed within minutes to destroy the otherwise beautiful impression!

I was at the Royal Hotel in Paestum for a really well organized reception, a long buffet in the garden / pool and then a few course lunch, a great solution. The atmosphere is really nice, especially the outdoor area with sun loungers and deck area. The town is full of restaurants, sometimes too pompous, all with a very elegant and green setting like the hotel in question. Good experience.
Now every time I sleep in the area I always go here. Spacious and clean rooms, super friendly staff and excellent restaurant. Recommended

We stayed at this property 4 days, fantastic location 10 minutes by car from the temples of Paestum and 10 minutes walk from the beach. The structure is really welcoming and super clean. It has a wonderful swimming pool, where you can relax in the sun beds soaking in the water. The hotel also has a restaurant with a Michelin star. The staff is helpful and super nice, ready to give you advice on how to best spend your days in the Cilento region. Greetings Francesca and mattia.

Very nice hotel with all the comforts of a 4 star, on our arrival we received an upgrade for the very elegant and spacious superior room.
The bathroom has no doors and is divided by a glass door so there is no privacy but all in all for those traveling as a couple I don't think it's a big problem ... on the other hand the tub outside the bathroom was fabulous I waited with more choices of products and instead it was standard good or bad it was always the same also because it was only sweet. We wanted to take advantage of the bikes but they didn't seem very safe ... deflated wheels, inefficient brakes ... in my opinion this thing about bike rental should be revised that from a 4-star you expect something more (in my opinion they should be changed ) , as for the pool it is very nice and clean, perhaps the water a bit too cold compared to the other pools.
However, the feedback is positive also because the staff is very kind and helpful.
