Hotel Rila Sofia Reviews

Hello,
we stayed at the Rila-Borovets Hotel on January 16, 2021.

The night with dinner and breakfast is 506 BGN, the dinner was a buffet with exactly four types of dishes and some other salad! Breakfast is also quite scarce considering the price of bed and breakfast! Non-alcoholic and alcohol are paid extra, the price definitely does not correspond to what is offered by the hotel !!!
When leaving the room, an employee from the reception informs me that I owe BGN 3 for a parking lot that is supposed to be free!
To my delight, the ticket was in my car and I had to go and pick it up to mark it in their system, returning to the reception I came across another employee and said that I wanted to pay for parking in the amount of BGN 3 as my colleague told me, respectively the employee explained to me that I did not owe anything because I was a guest of the hotel .... and in the end it turned out that their receptionists were cheating for BGN 3. And the cost is BGN 500.
Shame and disgrace, I would never stay again is Rila Hotel - Borovets

Staff extremely kind and helpful, breakfast good enough, room clean however furnisher extremely old.

THE OLD HOTEL HAS BEEN DECADE BUT FOR THE GOOD PRICE ... ... IT HAS BEEN ADVISED TO REMOVE ANOTHER ACTIVITIES AS THE BATH WITH NO AND THAT SUCCESS ...... THE ROOM GOOD AND LIGHT ..... THE WARDROBE WANT A CHANGE ....... BREAKFAST WAS GOOD BUT THE SPACE WHICH GETS THE PRODUCTS WOULD HAVE TO HAVE A MORE ROOM ..... HERE TO TONGUE HOW THE MAIN WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BREAKS WAS A SWEETER AND VERY VERY FAVORABLE .. ... THE PRECIOUS VERY EXCELLENT AND SUCCESSFUL ...... ONLY WHO DELAYED AWAY TO THE CESSION WHEN SOUGHT ....... BECAUSE IT IS MULTIPLE WORLD ...... GENERALLY SATISFIED stayed ........

Very good location. The room is nice. The bathroom is in poor condition. But there is a bathtub.

Of the worst hotels in the Soviet era of the 50-60 years, time has passed without any renovation, it is like a ruin and you can buy at the hotel staff, unpleasant in their behavior to the public, Unpleasant and resolutive genes for any questions.
That's the very central situation.

It's not a renovated hotel, but ok for stops. The bad thing is the parking in front, and the lack of full informations about it, from the hotel staff and municipality employees. Even tough you pay, you may still get a ticket and car blocked for details that should be solved by the parking company. Not a great experience.

Hotel very central although the rooms are old and the mattresses are too hard. I do not recommend breakfast either, it's not worth it

The location is in the heart of Sofia. Only 100 metres away from the famous Vitosha street known for its vibrant life.the hotel's infrastructure is old from the bathroom to the noisy lift. The breakfast is alright. The staff is friendly and the view is stunning. The rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable

The room with broken furniture. The floors and the bathroom are dirty. The wallpaper is peeled off. The staff is not prevetlev. The hotel left a very bad impression. The best is the view from the window. I do not recommend it. It s a pity that I can t put a photo of the room.

The bedroom was nice and big for once, beds were nice and staff were welcoming. The only down points would be the disappointing breakfast choice in the morning and the shower being not properly built in.

The only good thing is that the prices are decent rooms witty and comfortable, but because of the casino sometimes becomes very noisy otherwise the hotel even has its old char from the time of communism although after the repair is really good renovation

Well maintained and clean hotel. The fact that it is in the heart of the city is an incredible positive feature. The nightly rates are also very convenient. I think it is an ideal hotel for those who like looking for a roof to sleep just from night to night and staying in the city center.

Old hotel but with comfortable beds and very well looked after seems anchored in the past to the 70 bathrooms as well as the whole country justets

Clean rooms. Nice bed. The view from the window will not leave indifferent

Big and nice memories I got from this hotel. Now I do not know how it is, but it's in the top center.

Apart from the central location , the place was very disappointing, The pictures were much above the reality, the room was old looking and run down. Certainly not worth three stars.

Hotel has perfect location, close to most attractions. Staff is very friendly.

Pretty sane hotel for a night. Nothing good or bad. Just Soviet hotel slightly updated.

The hotel is fine .. I read many negative comments before coming, but not as much as it says. Look for somewhere else that wants luxury, but this hotel is in a very convenient setting. Also in the center. Hot water tv wifi air conditioned. Breakfast is very varied. The bed was comfortable clean. Refrigerator cabinets. It is very comfortable for a short stay.

Ok, hotel is outdated big time and seriously worn out. That been said, it's also in renovation process. Lobby probably was the first that got a freshen up and i was told that some floors / rooms are already set. My room though was one of the "old ones", however spacious and clean. In my opinion the hotel should shut down to renovate but I understand that, given the size of it, it would be a massive (cost-wise) project. Knowing that owner also owns the nearby les fleurs boutique hotel (which I love), I have no doubt that the end result of the renovation will put hotel back in the map. Bottom line, if you want to stay in the very center and everything else around Vitosha blv is fully booked, Rila is a much better option than all the rubbish hotels in Maria Louisa blv.

Nice old hotel..sofia is history and with some stories..centrally in the main square hotel offers good breakfast and service..you can take tour walking tour is something you should not miss...for mobility and other experiences this hotel is at best location..staff will help you on where to get authentic Bulgarian taste..

There is no hotel anymore. It has been purchased recently and it will be a no hotel anymore.

We stayed in this hotel last week and it was an awesome experience. The staff are very friendly,particularly manager and reception are helpful. We enjoyed our stay here
