Never again. Parking is terrible. We parked on one of the side streets for 15 minutes while we tried to check in and find out about parking and we got towed! Terrible and costly experience! Parking is at a parking garage quite a walk away and very expensive! We were also charged twice for parking because front desk person did not explain the procedure property. The Red Owl Restaurant on premises is nice and food good, but very expensive. The only plusses are the location and the decor was interesting.
Stayed here for the first time over the weekend. Hotel is very nice, boutique-style, near Independence Mall. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were surprisingly spacious. The decor is really nice and sets it apart from the chains. Recommended for a romantic weekend in the city.
Excellent views from some of the rooms. Excellent bedding. Easy to fall asleep quickly in one of their beds.
Unfortunately there is zero visibility to the city from the rooftop bar, which is a big letdown when you consider their location. The rooftop bar just as well had been placed on the first floor as it's impossible to gain any perspective of the height since there are no ways to view anything outdoors without looking directly up.
Nice design. Room furnishings a little beat up with burn marks, rips. Would expect more from this class of hotel. Staff were great. Great location near the sights.
Very nice and modern hotel, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved being steps away from all the Old City attractions, restaurants and shopping. The room was small but extremely comfortable and remarkably quite.
Clean rooms, but the front desk was not very friendly
This is our second stay at Hotel Monaco. We loved the hotel so much the first time we had to come back. Since our last stay we welcomed a puppy to our family and figured since it was pet friendly we would stay with them again and bring our four legged baby with us. While the experience was overall positive, the hotel was fully booked this time with lots of weddings and while the staff was great, especially with the pup there were a few areas (exchanging a comped bottle of red wine for a white that we would actually drink being denied by the concierge and a lack of the list of dog friendly area activities being available although I called ahead to verify that given the mention of that on their website) that could have been improved for a one night stay of over $500. Other than that I would say we would consider another stay.
Staff here are prejudice. Tim the manager is very unprofessional and is a liar. If you are African American I would avoid this place at all cost.
Well worth they stay. Valet parking and a good tavern (Red Owl Tavern) attached. Across the street from Independence Hall and a block from the Liberty Bell. Very Central to the Old City and sites. Comfortable rooms with outstanding service.
Beautiful hotel! Absolutely great service!
We stayed here the night after our wedding. I have to say this is one of the best places I've ever stayed. Every single detail was amazing. The champaign they left for us in the room, the decor, the alice in wonderland book....
I highly recommend the Monaco and any kimpton property. The Monaco is especially beautiful, and I can personally say the staff is all great. Down to the bell men who helped us pack everything into our car after the wedding.
If anyone out there is searching for deals for hotel rooms visit . made a reservation for a resort on there and these guys had the absolute best rates worldwide!
Love this place. A rocky first start has turned into a Top Pick hotel for me. They are pet-friendly so if you are not request floor 7.
Room was aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. Fun rooftop bar.
I loved it! The rooms were creatively designed and the staff was very Accommodating. It was very clean and the attached restaurant was good.
Nice facility. There for my niece's wedding. Had a great time. The pet policy was not to My liking but those animal lovers will love this hotel nestled in old city Philadelphia.
Great service and location. Staff is friendly and helpful
Cute quaint and cozy. Chic and stylish. Super friendly and accommodating.
The room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. The front desk people were also super friendly and tried to accommodate our needs. We needed to check in a bit early and when the room was available they texted us so we could settle down earlier than planned. The location is pretty much smack down in the downtown area and easily accessible to many different neighborhoods for exploration. Overall, a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend it.
The best hotel experience I ve ever had, beats Ritz Carlton any day! Sam Jung at the door remembered our entire family s name, got us everything we needed, gave great advice, even brought us some wine to our room (at no charge!)!!! The amazing lady at the fest let us check in two ours early and gave us a ridiculously cool room. Honestly, our stay was 100% flawless, I would not change one millisecond about it. This has been and will be my favorite hotel in the world, and I ve been to many!!
Great central location of all the historical sites. Nice rooms-mine had a great view-great amenities like wine in the lobby from 5 o'clock to six o'clock. No coffee machine's (of any kind) in the rooms. Although tgey do have it downstairs form 6-9. A.m. that is....
Love the motif. And they gave me a goldfish to keep me company on my business trip!
Beautiful hotel with great customer service. The room could use a little upkeep
Exquisite hotel! Nothing like it! Staff was extremely helpful an friendly! Unforgettable experience. Located in the heart of American history.
Our wedding venue search started and ended with the Hotel Monaco. Literally we went to look at one other venue after seeing the Hotel Monaco just to be polite as it was too soon to cancel but we knew we found the perfect spot right away. We initially worked with Matt Bassant although he left half way through the planning process. We had a completely smooth transition and began working with Jackie DeLawrence. The building, convenience of hotel and venue in one, decor and vibe were exactly what we were looking for. The food, alcohol and accommodations were above and beyond and every request we had was fulfilled without batting an eye. It was truly customer service at its finest. The bell hops and valet will know your name and remember it after your first meeting and somehow knew we were a bride and groom hosting an event there every time we pulled up. The best part of hosting your wedding there is you can tell everyone who works at the Monaco loves their job and this truly translates to the service. Bernardo was our head server at the wedding and I still am in awe of how amazing he was and how well he took care of us and our guests. Btw he also as the voice of an angel I'm not kidding I almost fell off my feet when he sung. The food at the wedding was not your typical wedding food and was delicious. Hats off to the chef for serving 130 piping hot, spot on meals that everyone raved about. Hosting a farewell brunch at the red owl tavern was a cherry on top. Again our guests were catered to and enjoyed every bite of food. Thank you to everyone who played a hand in our wedding. It was truly the best night of our lives thanks to you all!!
this place is so lovely. the decor is flowery and extravagant and the room is nice; however there was no microwave to heat up our pizza rolls. the hotel gladly sent someone up to take care of our snack attack.
It's a beautiful place right in the heart of Philadelphia. You can't go wrong.
This hotel does not have one specific style but rather blends several together. The front desk and lobby area have comfortable, tasteful furniture, with one wall covered with various decorative paintbrushes ranging from small to massive. The 10th floor room I stayed in was well decorated, each wall having a mirror, a painting, or a large artistic wallpaper graphic. The bath area was luxurious, with a rather spacious tub.
I really always enjoyed visiting kempton's. This time was just to sit at the bar and have a drink with a good friend. Ambiance is always nice and in this location if it's open about very nice roof deck, Stratus bar.
Always love the Kimpton brand. Free wine happy hour, upscale decor, and extremely friendly staff.
Even though all they had was a presidential suite they accommodated our group well, and even gave us free drinks. The room was great with an awesome view overlooking the liberty bell. Overall a great stay. Keep in mind to go to the bar upstairs you need to be dressed well.
Hotel was good, staff attentive and pleasent. Bathroom modern, but with half door.. water spills out from shower.. not.a.good design.Good location, 10mins drive from train ststion.
Love this hotel. Excellent location, very comfortable incredible staff.
Cute and beautiful decor everywhere, room size was BIG, perfect location near the liberty bell, awesome rooftop bar, large lobby area! Highly recommend
Good location, great hotel but valet parking is costly..
Love everything about this hotel. Staff is friendly and always looking to help. It had the best view of any of my stays in Philadelphia. Great location!
Different looking like an ancient place in amodern culture.comfortable and warm reception.if you wanna hangout Philadelphia absolutely right choice.
Staff extremely friendly, bed excellent, decoration amazing I highly recommend this hotel, completely close to everything. I want to come back shortly
Beautiful venue. Great service. The designs and random artworks all throughout the building are unique and inspiring to say the least. The interior decoration of The Suite was phenomenal. I would definitely stay here when in Philadelphia
Great hotel in historic area. Excellent views from hotel with great roof top. Rooms are clean and modern.
The spa room is big, over 600 sq ft. Right next to the Independent Hall. Dogs friendly. Red Owl Tavern Restaurant on the 1 st floor.
Great location, nice room, nicely themed. It seems to be a very popular wedding location so our Hall was actually kind of noisy late night/early morning.
Unbelievable hotel in a beautiful building at the heart of historic Philadelphia. The views are magnificent and the concierge is second to none.
They have no working bikes, which is completely unacceptable. Lots of things I don't need however, like Alice in Wonderland book in my room.
Just want to thank Tashna who made my birthday extra special. Will certainly come back! Great job guys
We have stayed at the Hotel Monaco in Alexandria, VA and loved it there. The Hotel Monaco Philadelphia definitely lived up to the reputation. Kimpton Hotels are well known for being pet friendly, and the Monaco couldn't have been more accomodating. From the moment we arrived, every staff member knew our dog's name, and were consistently paying incredible attention to Cooper. They even had the right size bed and dog bowls in the room for him before we arrived. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating! They did an exceptional job of meeting any needs we had, and always extending warm greetings to us and our dog Cooper. The rooftop bar was a lot of fun, with a great atmosphere and friendly service staff. The location cannot be beat, right next to Independence Hall and steps from amazing restaurants in Old City. Definitely recommend this hotel to both pet owners and travelers alike. A must stay in Philly!
Beautiful!! Had a wonderful time. Great location and all the staff were professional and courteous. Will be staying here again.
Very unique decor. Enjoyable experience. The numerous mice running around the hotel bar was unexpected.
The doorman Sean was very respectful and nice. Would recommend this hotel.
Quirky vibe. Fantastic location right by the major tourist attractions. Has a free wine hour every evening.
The hotel was an outstanding place for a professional event. Food was amazing as well as the quality of service provided.
Stayed here on 9/7 they 9/9 for my daughters wedding. Rooms were classy and staff is very attentive to your needs. Completely impressed and would stay again!
Great hotel in downtown Philly! Friendly and professional staff!
Room is spacious and clean! Alice in wonderland/vintage theme and decors in the wall! They have the minibar and also some snacks in the room!
The only thing that I didn t like was the shower that is half open and it s gonna wet everywhere.
Everything was pretty standard, the restaurant was delish. However, be warned-no one checks temperatures of guests. No room service, no air filters to be seen. Great location. Parking is 2 blocks away.
A little overpriced but otherwise nice venue, good drink selection. You're paying for the atmosphere. Food is average
Gorgeous place in Philly, great area and not super expensive, facilities rooms and stuff were great, walking distance to restaurants
Love love love this hotel! Rashid the concierge is great as is Joe the doorman. Super clean, love the decor, bed is comfy and the yoga mat in each room is a must have now when I travel! Hotel Monaco is now my favorite hotel in phl and I am super picky! :)
Nice hotel although the decor, wallpaper is a little over the top
My sister's wedding party stayed hear. The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are beautiful and views are spectacular!
Very disappointed and will definitely not stay here again! The room was very small and had a view of an internal building wall. You will have only a bath wash and a shampoo (no conditioner and no lotion). If you are one of those people that like to make themselves a cup of coffee in the morning while getting ready to leave their hotel room, don't think that you will be sticking with your routine in this hotel: there is no coffee or tea in the rooms. And the "complimentary" coffee and tea (only very early in the morning) at the reception area will not offer you decaf coffee option. We travel a lot and always stay in 4/5 star hotel, as there are certain comfort that comes in those hotels that you cannot find everywhere, but in Monaco we didn't find that and that is unacceptable for a 4.5 star hotel!
We decided to go to the rooftop bar for a night drink but we were stopped at the entrance to the bar, not allowed in, and directed to go downstairs and get outside of the hotel to wait in order to get up to the bar! Unbelievable how a hotel that costs $350 per night cannot give you access to its facilities!
But the highlight of our disappointment was the stolen sweater and a scarf from the room. And after we called to speak with a manager, they called us back to tell us that "they found the jacket but unfortunately they couldn't find the sweater and the scarf". Shocking for a highly rated hotel! Be careful with your belongings and don't leave anything valuable in the room! If housekeeping is willing to steal a simple cardigan sweater and a scarf, I can only imagine what would happen if there is a more valuable item left.
Absolutely beautiful hotel. It is in the perfect location. Across the street from independance hall and the liberty bell. You can walk to most major attractions. The front desk staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. The rooms are magnificent. Clean and beautifully decorated. I will never stay anywhere else in Philadelphia. I highly recommend this hotel and loved every minute of my stay.
A clean, friendly atmosphere with large inviting and comfortable rooms. Attended for a meeting and received exceptional service.
Super friendly staff and beautiful hotel and rooms.
The ecclectic decorations, gorgeous rooms, the nightly happy hour...such a beautiful respite.
Great rooms, great service. Only wish I could stayed longer.
I love this hotel. Nice staff and really clean hotel. Also a great location.
Gorgeous rooms in a fantastic location! Staff was pleasant and knowledgeable!
Lovely dinner and service at the attached restaurant.
