I went here for breakfast. I was thoroughly impressed with the service the atmosphere and decor. The team of servers was attentive and made sure that all my needs were met during my business breakfast meeting. The menu items were vast with choices from healthy to Hardy. I had oatmeal and fruit and my colleague had traditional American breakfast of pancakes eggs and bacon that was delightful in his description The valet parking out front was also convenient and the doorman was sincerely happy to see you and be of service.

Very clean hotel, spacious rooms, and superior customer service. A doorman opens the door and valet parks your car upon arrival - both very courteous. Entry is clean and open, but lobby is a bit tucked away through an open doorway on the right. Reception desk was staffed by a team knowledgeable of the hotel and area. We were warmly greeted and promptly handed keys to our room. Rooms were a perfect size for our family. King spa room was very spacious with a unique soaking tub and shower (see photos). Concierge was very helpful, offering advise for our stay duration and discounted admission to several attractions. Red Owl Tavern, connected to the hotel, offers a casual dining experience with good food and service. Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, and Visitors Center are all directly across 5th Street from the hotel literally steps away. Just a few blocks down are other attractions including the Museum of the American Revolution (newly opened in 2017). A perfect getaway for our family!

I always enjoy the style of Kimpton Monaco hotels and this location was ideal for seeing the historical sites. The Strata hotel lounge was closed Monday night but their are great local bars to check out. Highly recommended, just wish the coffee hour was more 8-10am so I'd actually make it.

Aside from the fact that there was a dead body found according to the news. The staff was on point. Dan the doorman showed commitment and professionalism. He needs to get promoted or a big raise. I can't get enough of the light fixtures and the details-decor of this hotel. Best light fixtures I've ever seen in all the hotels I've stayed in. Also very clean and doesn't smell for a hotel that allows pets. I would definitely stay here again.

Do not recommend. Check in Friday was at 3pm, room wasnt ready until after 8pm. Next night had a 3am evacuation due to kitchen fire. Then Sunday tried to check out at 11:30am told we couldnt get to our car until after 1pm, mind you we should of been home by 1:30 to pick up our child. Front desk just said sorry you should of gotten a letter. We NOONE said ANYTHING to us at check in KNOWING we were checking out Sunday. So much for a relaxing 10th anniversary weekend. Wished we would of stayed somewhere else.

Just my favorite hotel in Philadelphia. Cool decoration, absolutely top service and a phenomenal breakfast.

You feel like being in Europe in this hotel. The location is perfect and sight seeing is within walking distance.

Wine tasting events complete the outstanding experience of my stay. Highly recommendable.

A huge thank you is owed to Janet and her team at Hotel Monaco for an absolutely perfect reception! From the start, all of our interactions have been exceptional. Janet hosted my now-husband and I for our initial meeting and we instantly fell in love with the hotel and the ballroom. Janet has been in the business for awhile and helped us novices navigate wedding planning (she even helped us select our rehearsal dinner venue). She gave a full list of preferred vendors, all of which turned out to be amazing! We used the Girard room for the cocktail hour and the Lafayette Ballroom (across the hall) for the reception dinner, all are located on the ground floor and were convenient for guests, the majority of which stayed at the hotel.

The ballroom is absolutely stunning, with beautiful banquet chairs and decor. You don t need to purchase or rent your own linens or dancefloor or tables! In addition, the food is divine. Philip and I had such fun at the tasting with Janet and Bernardo (our server) and fell in love with every dish that was served. Everything tasted even better on our actual wedding day and my husband and I were spoiled with our own server who made sure I had a drink in my hand the entire night!

Hotel Monaco made everything so easy for us because everything was taken care of for us - including a day-of coordinator, which allowed myself and my friends and family enjoy the day with no responsibilities. In addition, when the bridal party was stranded in the limo because of a crazy thunderstorm, the staff at Hotel Monaco formed an umbrella tunnel for the bridal party to enter through. These little details, as well as the grand-scale coordination, are what makes Hotel Monaco so special. Best wedding ever!

By far one of the best boutique hotels In Philly, nice rooftop bar and an excellent restaurant downstairs, right next to the liberty Bell and a 5 min walk to the museum of the American revolution, will definitely come back on my next visit to the city of brotherly love !

We attended a wedding reception at the Hotel Monaco last weekend. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. The bartenders were generous with the mixed drinks. The rooftop patio was large and lovely. It was organized in a circular fashion and we could move from one group of relatives to another. There were also free standing "tree patio heaters" to keep us comfortable when the sun set. The main ball room for dinner and dancing was spacious and gorgeous. ALL of the food was exceptional! My husband and I look forward to returning to the Hotel Monaco.

Beautifully appointed rooms and excellent customer service. I love that the rooms here don't look like a typical hotel room in that the decor is bold and artistic. Higher ceilings and bright lighting in the rooms are wonderful, especially in the bathroom. You are literally right across the street from Independence Hall. Love the location!

My fiance and I are staying here tonight. Finding the hotel was difficult with the construction. No valet bc of covid. Neither of those are their fault but should be noted. The staff is wonderful. Security is great. The hotel itself is beautiful. The room is perfectly decorated. The bathroom is outstanding. I'm up writing this review now at 3:12am bc l the bed is a ROCK!! Neither of us can sleep. Four pillows is not nearly enough to even try to get comfortable.

The room was amazing, and the staff were extremely friendly and prompt when we asked for anything. Dave one of the management team members was truly awesome. A guest was being very rude and confrontational but Dave kept his composure and remained very friendly and courteous even while being insulted and talked down to. Omar the night manager was extremely apologetic for us having to witnesses the confrontation and went above and beyond by offering us credits for room service.

Very beautiful old historic hotel. Beautiful, clean and stylish. The whole staff, that's everyone were just absolutely amazing and very professional. Threat everyone like royality. Really make you feel at home. They have a restaurant The Red Owl Tavern which I like a lot. Nice rustic design. Clean and a very nice atmosphere. Good specials, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also during the week from 5-6pm there is a free wine event, which is very good. The rooms are very big, very clean, nice and very comfortable beds. I shall return

I was there for a business meeting. They provided light snacks and refreshments. The hotel was very clean and the staff seemed friendly but I didn't really have to interact with them. They did treat me to lemon lime iced wayer, which with the heat today was very refreshing

Really great hotel in an excellent location. Try to request a room on the Liberty Bell Park side, fantastic view of the park and downtown Philadelphia.

They have a free wine happy hour for guests seven days a week. You can't beat that!

There were plenty of dogs there, so I'm certain this is a pet friendly hotel.

A little pricey. Definitely not for budget travelers. Also, parking is $46 a night!

Property was ok. I would give it 3/5 stars. The decor was nice, very much a boutique style. My only complaints are that the shower needed to be placed in a better way because water was going everywhere. Also, the ice picker we had on top of our ice bucket was EXTREMELY dirty. It had this nasty red stuff on it. I called the front desk for a new one & it was never sent. Overall, I wouldn t stay here again. Their sister hotel, Kimpton Hotel Palomar is a lot nicer.

Clean, beautiful rooms. They took forever to get me my deposit back, though. Great location and friendly staff.

Why two stars? The room was 200 or so dollars and they waited until I showed up to tell me there's an additional 150 hold on my card. I came on a date to go to eastern state penitentiary for Halloween. I had about 350 dollars cash on me on a Saturday night and they railroaded me.into giving them 150 dollars for no reason. It honestly ruined my whole time in Philly. I'm not cheap but when I'm on the broke side it'd be nice if they let.me know they'd be charging me 150% of the quoted price. I wasn't able to.go out to.dinner that night and I had enough to buy *her* a souvenir but no money for myself.

Hotel monaco was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. The rooms were amazing, the location was perfect, the staff was accommodating, friendly and helpful. They take the time to pay attention to the little things and it differentiates them from the rest. I was spending the night for a special occasion and the staff made sure my room was extra special and ready. The only downside is that parking is a slight hassle and can work out to be pretty expensive.

Excellent all around! Location, decor, customer service, restaurant, rooftop bar, doormen. I couldn't rate hotel Monaco high enough. The only negative thing I can say is it took vallet 27 minutes to retrieve our vehicle at 12:45pm on a Tuesday; however it is operated by Laz and not the actual hotel.

Great hotel my only complaint would be that some of the rooms have issues in the morning with the curtains not being able to cover the windows properly and if you don't want to wake up early, you probably will due to all the sunlight.

Ideally located for being a tourist, gorgeous lobby and rooms. The rooftop lounge is more club than bar, a bit pretentious for my liking.

Would come back in a heartbeat which is the sign of a great stay.

This hotel is fantastic. It is located near to many of the historical sites that Philadelphia has to offer and others are just an short car or inexpensive cab ride away. There are so many things that make this hotel the best place to stay in Philly but number one has to be service, service and more service.
The hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained and the room was a pleasure to stay in.
There is a restaurant on the main floor, the Red Owl, and we had all of our breakfasts there. It was delicious and moderately priced. A casual lunch or dinner is also available and there is a full bar. On the 10th floor is Stratus Lounge which is a must to visit. It is a fab place with excellent drinks. Service in the Red Owl and Stratus were A+
We would not stay anywhere else.

The nicest hotel in old city. My wife and I had the guests at our wedding stay there (wedding at the Curtis Center) - and the location could not have been better! It is about 2 blocks away from two major Cescephe venues, 1 block from tons of museums, and has an awesome rooftop bar.

Everytime we come into the city for a night, we stay at either the Palomar or Monaco. You just can't beat the location of the Monaco. Central to historic sites, Old City restaurants and South Street. I highly recommend this boutique hotel. Super friendly staff - always with a smile and kind words. For this visit, we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. We had a spa king room and enjoyed the beautiful soaking tub. We also enjoy the coffee area in the morning. The folks at the reception desk were eager to wish us congratulations and help us with any reservations. Just a great place - for couples, families, business travelers or solo guests.

Can't say enough good things about the Kimpton Monaco! Excellent staff, beautiful hotel. Spent part of our honeymoon there. The breakfast is amazing! The only issue we had was with the valet parking being a bit late which caused us to lose money on our rental car. But the hotel fixed the situation! They gave us the $50 back for the valet parking, which shocked me. Very great service, particularly by Kayla! Thanks to everyone at the Monaco! Highly recommend. Valet parking employee Sam was cool too, talked about the Sixers. Lastly, amazing location. Would I stay again? Absolutely.

The location of this hotel is simply amazing! I've visited about 20 other Kimpton Hotels from Florida to Massachusetts and this is by far the best Kimpton I've been to. Stayed on top floor (10th) in this incredible room and the views were breathtaking.
