It was a highly enjoyable and an amazing stay! The staff were a pleasure and provided a surprising array of complimentary items if you forgot them.
It was a highly enjoyable and an amazing stay! The staff were a pleasure and provided a surprising array of complimentary items if you forgot them.
Lovely dinner at the hotel bar for a wedding rehearsal dinner.
Very nice hotel with great views. A little pricey but rich with history. Not a typical cookie cutter hotel.
This was my 2nd stay at this hotel and hands down it is the best !! Perfect hotel !!
I have been longing to stay at this hotel. It s decor is amazing! Their diverse staff is very polite and informative and they definitely take safety and cleaning protocols seriously. I stayed for two nights for my wedding. As soon as David, the fronts desk associate knew he kindly offered me a small bottle of wine. I didn t use any other services, but I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again...maybe next time with a park view!
Service has really declined in the past few months. Desk clerk was super obnoxious when I gave feedback. Won t be staying there again.
Room very modern and clean and comfortable. Food thru room service was disappointing and very high priced. Would stay again but eat elsewhere.
Beautiful ballroom area, great service, good food, and an excellent open bar.
Nice place to have an event, to party and need of an hotel for traveling visitation
The hotel itself, staff, and the overall experience was great- but the bed was super uncomfortable. We were very excited to get some good shuteye but slept horribly because of this. Kind of a bummer!
+1 star for staff, very friendly, nice
+1 star for location, cannot be beat for the "heart" of Philly
-1 star for tacky pricing (blame management): $8 bottle of water next to the bed? "gotcha" charges EVERYWHERE
-1 star for style: shower has half a wall, decorations over-the-top at expense of quality
That leaves 1 star up in the air. Since I can't give it 2.5 stars, and I was there for a wedding and had a great time, I'll give it to them. If I had been on a business trip, this would probably have been 2 stars.
NOTE: Park yourself around the corner (less than 1 block walk) for $25/day instead of their $43/day valet (which I hear takes a long time, too).
Very luxurious Hotel! Wonderful staff amazing views and an amazing restaurant.
When I arrived checking in was very easy. Omar was the gentleman that greeted me at the front desk. I was charged a $150.00 incidentals fee which I didn t mind (I ll explain later). I received a key to my room on the 8th floor with a view off the city! My rooms design was BEAUTIFUL. I then noticed as I unpacked and settled in that my room had a lot of dust, four water bottles, one wash cloth, hair in the shower, mold in the shower, and what looked like a creamy white residue on the shower wall . I couldn t believe that a hotel with four stars could be like this ESPECIALLY with covid floating around our very active and HUGE city. I guess the design of the room is meant to block out how poorly clean this unit was... I wanted to give a good review. I m sad that I couldn t recommend this place. Stay somewhere else.
I just checked into the Klimpton Monaco today. The receptionist assigned us to a room on the 10th floor and told me that we may hear some bass from the night club which is on the 11th floor. I said that when I booked the room at no time was it mentioned that we would be in a lower quality room. It s very pricey but in our previous experiences has been worth the cost. I was told that the hotel was oversold and that this was all that was left. We prepaid for a three night stay. The receptionist offered a small credit and added that the nightclub would be closed Sunday night. When we returned from dinner the sound was loud and unbearable so I called the front desk and was told the same story. The club does not close until 2 am. I am appalled that the Klimpton Hotel chain would knowingly treat guests in this way. These rooms are hardly peaceful retreats. I am beyond disappointed in the dishonesty and poor service.
Excellent place to stay right in the heart of Philadelphia close to everything Independence Mall liberty Bell Jewish history museum night lights
Extremely close to historic site, all employees were great & fab room service.
Very central. Overlooks Liberty Bell. Amazing decor
Excellent stay! Our complaints with the hotel shower were taken seriously and we were upgraded to a better room. Everyone was extremely courteous and friendly, and the staff were very proactive with covid precautions. I hope to come back soon and highly recommend!!!!!
Great service at check in. Fast and friendly. Room was in great condition upon check-in
Great room and fabulous location -- right next to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.
Stayed for 3 weeks with my pets while looking for apartments after being displaced. They are amazing people and this place will be forever in my heart. The staff is so kind and personable and as an artist I felt accepted and in my element. I ll be recommending this place to everyone
Hurt myself while I was out and had to call an ambulance. My wife could not go with me to hospital due to covid, my wife says the staff member who came out to help was very flirtatious when I was taken to the hospital. and called the room to do a "wellness check" but also saying he "didn't see a ring on her finger" during their conversation. Not understanding what that has to do with anything, nor do I understand the need to call the room if I'm already gone.... Not Professional and kinda weird if you ask me..... Nice room though.....
Fantastic hotel in a great location. Nice touches, attentive staff.
Love love love this hotel. We stayed for one night with my IHG annual reward. Everyone was sooo kind and so friendly. The Hotel is Pet-Friendly (even cats). Which is great for pet lovers. Room was great, great view of the Liberty Bell and Park. Good location for touristy things. And the best philly cheesesteak is just a few blocks away (Campo's). Hotel had Valet parking only. Lobby has a great living room space with a fireplace. They serve complimentry wine at 5pm in the living room which was a fun little happy hour vibe. Definitely will return. Love this hotel!
The hotel is very well located. It has a beautiful decoration but I was expecting something else for the price. Not access to the fridge. No extra pillows or blankets in the room. No shower cap, razors and other in the bathroom. The access to the terrace was close (it didn t say anything in the website).
Awesome hotel, great location, exceptional service.
My husband and I came to this hotel for our honeymoon back in 2017. Our room was beautiful and romantic. I will cherish our memories there forever. We had a wonderful experience in Philadelphia. Highly recommend this hotel to stay. Also close to many stores and tourist sites.
Loved it! Visited for drinks, great vibes and a super nice hotel.
It was a fabulous, eclectic hotel that was conveniently located diagonally from Independence Hall. Parking was sparse so we used valet which was certainly easier but expensive. The evening cocktail hour was a nice touch. We would return but probably leave the kids home next time as there was no pool.
From the moment we saw the building, we knew we were in for a treat.
Beautiful lobby, luxurious corner suite, and excellent staff all made for a great time at Hotel Monaco.
Special thank you to Omar for sharing insight on things to do in the area, as well as great conversation.
It was hard to leave the Lafayette building
Quite an eccentric hotel with nods to local history in its decor. This hotel is perfectly located in Old Town, the historic district in Philadelphia. It's within easy walking distance of great restaurants like Buddakan and historical/touristy spots like the Liberty Bell. It's a beautiful hotel; customer service was great and friendly, from the doorman to the bell service, and the cleaning staff. The lobby and room was very clean and inviting. The toiletries provided are great (one's you'll actually opt to use). I'd stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone.
The door men and front desk were very helpful with so much going on. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Close walk to a lot of great restaurants, as well as historic places.
I was there to shoot a wedding party recently. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Something I noticed just waiting in the lobby for my contact to get me. I have been to the Stratus rooftop bar in the past and me and my crew thoroughly enjoyed it. I had never been in any of the rooms until the photo shoot and the decor looked great. I only gave 4 stars because I have not actually stayed there being a local.
Very beautiful venue, especially the roof top bar that they own
Good spot but closed part of the lounge for private event.
Loved this hotel. Room was very comfortable with delightful robes and little shampoos and soaps. Bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. I LOVED the decor. Very bright and fun. The only part I slightly didn't like was the shower. No tub and the tub only had a half glass door, which meant the floor got fairly wet. Would 110% stay at a Kimpton property again.
One of the nicest hotels at which we have stayed. The location is in a central area to restaurants and activities. We loved the ability to walk out the front door and be in town. The hotel is immaculately maintained: nothing was out of place or worn in any way. Even though the hotel is in a busy part of the city, the noise was minimal which is very important to me. Although we did not reserve a room with a view, we were provided one anyway and we had a beautiful view of Independence Hall. The worst thing that I can say is that the lobby gets very busy on the weekends with people visiting the rooftop lounge although the doormen kept them organized.
This hotel is the stuff of my dreams and future haus fantasies.
Not a detail goes unnoticed. Here are my favorite decor elements at the Hotel Monaco:
- The teapot lighting on the 10th floor
- The Versailles-esque wallpaper
- The absurd collection of mismatched prints and textiles that miraculously belong together
- The giant "cat scratch" post in the lobby
- The collection of antique brushes at registration
- Bold colors at every turn
- The gilded mirrors in the elevator
- The unusual prints and photographs
The staff and service here are exceptional. I wish I could remember this gentleman's name now, but I ran into him multiple times as he delivered room service. A delightful smile and happy attitude. We always had nice chitchats.
A fantastic contemporary hotel in the most historic neighborhood in the USA. A must see!
Unique interior paired with exceptional service made for a pleasant and enjoyable stay.
Rooms are spacious and well decorated. great location.
Loved this hotel and everyone was so helpful!! The only problem with this hotel was parking close enough to get help from the overworked valet.
Too expensive and pretentious, but clean and comfortable.
Attended two days of wedding events and stayed overnight once. The venue was excellent--beautiful and well executed, the room was clean, stylish and comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar was fun.
The Monaco is superior to the Palomar just based on the decor and views available. Sure, the Palomar might be a little more trendy and convenient for business travelers, but the Monaco is the way to go of you're on vacation.
They let our dog stay with us and the room was absolutely gorgeous, overlooking an area over independence hall. Honestly, I'm from Philly and that view was still worth the price of admission.
Attended a party at the Stratus Rooftop Lounge. Outstanding venue, great team. Loved the event.
The hotel gave us a very glamorous feel. We loved the hotel and the decor. The staff was very nice. I'm not sure if all of the rooms have this but the only thing we did not like was the shower/bathroom. It was a standing shower and there was no glass door. Water went everywhere and we could not understand why they decided to not put a glass door on a shower. My guess was to be modern, but it was just not efficient at all. The bathroom had a sliding door and it was right by the bed so not much privacy. Over all we loved the hotel, we love philly, we just hated the bathroom.
I'm not sure whether it was due to COVID or just a different level of service at the Philly location or both but I have been staying at Kimpton Hotels for almost 10 years now. I have visited the Hotel Monaco in D.C. many time and always had a great experience. However, the philly location seemed ill-equipped to handle the Valentine's Day surge in 2021. No valet parking, no room service, and no mini bar. Things were certainly different than what I am accustomed to.
Once we finally were able to place a room service order, we were told that we likely wouldn't get our food before checkout and would be charge $50 for staying past noon. We would be charged 1/2 our original rate if we stayed until 1PM. I can remember in past visits that I had no issue checking out from a Kimpton hotel into the afternoon.
Great Boutique Hotel nice accessible room but beds too high for handicapped. Beautiful top floor outside bar deck but kids not allowed so we couldn't go, big negative.
Great atmosphere at Red Owl Tavern for after dinner drinks
Very nice staff, but valet system requires about 45 minutes to bring your car around
If you are visiting Philly, this is the hotel to stay in. The will go out of their way to make your stay a wonderful experience. It's just blocks away from major landmarks and great restaurants. If you get the chance, check out their rooftop bar.
Very beautiful great staff n fantastic rooms n views
Well located in downtown Philadelphia. Located next to the Liberty Bell.
Said they would pull up my car in 10 minutes, but took over an hour to get to me.
The food is overpriced, a burger is 20 dollars.
Great Hotel. Awesome staff and service. Nice location
The life of the party I mean the city happens here.
Very unique hotel. Great staff. The tap water is super cloudy so make sure you have bottled watter!
I visited a friend for a little get-together there and it was SO gorgeous. The rooms were so plush and the colors were so rich. Deep reds, golds, navy. I want to stay there sometime! I didn't even know that hotel was there before my friend brought me.
Good location. Fine decor. Small but perfectly serviceable rooms.
Nice hotel in a great location. Excellent service from the staff and I would recommend this hotel.
Room was spacious, comfortable, and had great views. In an excellent location to tour Old City and Center City, with great restaurants, history and culture spots all within walking distance. One downside was that our room wasn't ready 1.5hrs after check in and we had to wait about 15 minutes - not a huge problem, but not ideal either. Manager on duty handled it well though.
Pricey at 300usd a night but a lovely hotel. Get the suite with a standalone bathtub.
This is a very fancy hotel right in the center of everything. The staff could not have been more helpful and the room was immaculate. Would definitely recommend.
The best hotel I have been to. The room was superb and services exceptional. I highly recommend.
Absolutely loved it. The rooms are amazing, the staff is fantastic and friendly and grate location for tourism. I would definitely recommend staying there.
What a great experience would go back. Great staff. Food from room service was excellent. The red owl tavern was awsome. Everyone at the Monaco was very helpful.
This hotel is right in the heart of the historical district (i don't know if that's what they call it). The Liberty Bell and Independence Hall are right across the street.
The rooms are so fun. Mine had absolutely no view, but inside, it was really pretty.
Water pressure was awesome (no bathtub, shower only), thermostat worked wonderfully. In the closet, there's an umbrella to borrow if you need it or robes to use if you didn't bring yours.
Towels were thick and plush.
The bed was comfy. I don't always sleep well away from home, but did here.
There is complimentary coffee in the mornings and complimentary wine in the evenings. Beware ... no coffee pot in the room :( That may be my only complaint.
The lobby / reception room is well-used. Lots of visitors there.it is a comfortable room with a variety of sitting areas. There is fruit-infused water available.
Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. There are lots of elevators so you rarely wait long for one. You have to use your room key to get the elevator to go past the lobby, which i like.
There are bicycles to borrow if you feel like taking a ride.
Stated here for my birthday but had some issues with the room and wide found pills that were anxiety so we know the room.wasnt.cleaned well for.our standards
One of the best hotels in the city. Red Owl Tavern next to it, phenomenal place to work & eat.
